MISC INFO ON RIDE THE LIGHTNING 1- FADE TO BLACK - Did you know what acctualy inspired them to write this song? Or atleast inspired James to write thoese lyrics? He acctualy wrote this becuase of their equipment beeing stolen! Ofcourse the song itself is about suicide, but the inspiration came from the loss of equipment (which they never got back). 2- FIRST "SELL OUT" - The song Escape was acctualy written, only to get some radio time! (which they didnt get) And James have mentioned that Escape is his least favourite metallica song. Might have been for this reason. 3- FOR WHOM THE BELL TOLLS - The song is inspired by a book with the same name, and that bass intro in the begining of the song was acctualy written for Cliff's first band and not for metallica. 4- VINYL WHENT GREEN - The most famous missprint of the metallica world, the ride the lightning vinyl with green cover. A "bootleg" version of this green cover has been realesed after this from France. But the original is ofcourse with the black vinyl and made in England (check the back small print if you ever find a green covered ride the lightning vinyl). 5- VINYL WITH CLASSIS - Another missprint of the Ride The Lightning Vinyl, one of the sides of the album was printed with classic music instead of the last 4 songs! 5- CALL OF KTULU - This song was inspired by the novels of H.P.Lovecraft. Which both Cliff and kirk loved at the time. (the orignal story name ; Chutulu)
