Notes: Khas cannot speak, so he communicates with a broken version of Sign language
"Are you really who you say you are, Sage?" Khas signed in frustration, "the elders say you have been around longer than they have. There is something you aren't telling us isn't there?"
"Khas, some things aren't meant to be known, please don't dig into this you're not ready for it" Sage said quietly as she turned the page of the book on the table. Khas slammed his hand on the book obscuring it from her view before signing, "Not ready?! We have known each other for fifteen years, you practically raised me, do you not trust me?"
Sage stood up so quickly that she knocked over the stool she was sitting on, "Trust? It is not about trust Khas. You, and everyone in this village are my family, I have no intention of risking the lives of villagers over the choices I made in the past. It is my problem and I will settle it how I see fit, is that understood?!" Sage roared as she slowly looked up to see the tears forming in Khas' eyes. For an adult he was always quick to cry even if he was angry.
"You try to shoulder everything, it will end up being too much.. " He signed slowly, choking back tears, "I'd rather risk getting hurt than losing you."
