Althaia decided it was a nice day to climb a tree.
There had been absolutely no precursor to this desire; the fallen had quite literally gotten up that day with the realization that she had never attempted to scale a tree before. The need had simply never arisen, though once the thought had occurred to her, she decided that it was high time for her to learn. After all, what would she do if she was passing by the park one day to find that some freshling's familiar had gotten itself stuck up in a tree?
(Clearly her wings, which she seemed to have forgotten she possessed altogether, would fail to aid her in any way).
And so she found herself in her current predicament: upside down and dangling by her legs from the thick, lower branch of a tree. Her long, white hair nearly brushed the ground as she hung there, hands grasping at her dress to hold it down--or rather, up--lest she flash any people passing by. However, despite her inconvenient situation, the girl seemed remarkably calm; she seemed serene even, the corners of her lips pulling upwards in the faintest of smiles as her golden gaze casually flickered about.
"Things look different like this," she mused softly to herself, holding her dress up with one hand so that she could push the ribbon from her face with the other, "This wasn't the expected outcome, but I wouldn't say that it's a bad one either." In fact, oblivious to the stares that some nightmares were directing at her, Althaia decided that it wouldn't hurt to stay like this a little longer, if only for the novelty. It was rare for Euria to have time alone with her father, and she had found herself stuck between conflicting feelings of excitement and longing for her brothers. In the end, the excitement outweighed the longing by the smallest of margins; she'd get to see Nani and Malik again soon, and it wasn't like she got to spend one-on-one time with her father often. However, with that being said, she acknowledged that she would have to make sure to work three times as hard today to make up for her siblings' absence.
Because yes, she was still intent on little mission to hook her father up with somebody. The fact that he didn't seem particularly interested in pursuing a relationship never deterred her--if anything, it seemed to drive her to be even more persistent, as if she viewed her father's indifference as a challenge.
Which was why for the duration of their time together thus far, she would occasionally tug on his hand just to call his attention to select people who she spotted. "She's so pretty," she'd comment with the subtlety of a brick to the face, "And he's dashing! And that person over there? They're really cool! And that girl in the distance there is...is..."
She suddenly stopped altogether and squinted at the figure hanging from the tree. After a moment of silence, she cocked her head to the side in confusion.
"She's...upside down." Ember-babe ;;; SORRY FOR THE LAME INTRO I'm never good at them ffffff

Osiris felt only somewhat guilty. Osiris had always wanted a daughter growing up, and while he loved his two sons very dearly, Euria did have a special place in his heart. She was his little princess, and so sometimes he spoiled her perhaps a little too much with his presence. On this particular day, Osiris had scooped Euria right out of school from under the other two children's noses and whisked her away on a day trip. Osiris knew if the other two children heard about their little excursion, especially after he had just finished telling Nani he had to go to school -- no exceptions --, that there would be much heat from his sons. It wasn't quite favoritism. Osiris just felt a little more protective of his little girl. In the present day and age, there are many pressures for woman to be, do, or say certain things that aren't necessarily true to the individual. Osiris wanted to do all that he could to prevent Euria from following down that shallow path, and hoped a little extra attention now might deflect some of the peer pressure in the future. As it stood now, Euria seemed fairly self-assured. Off the little imp girl went, blabbing on about this nightmare and that daydream, still trying to set him up with someone. Romance had just never happened for Osiris. It wasn't that he wasn't open to the idea of it, but nobody had ever quite sparked that desire or longing in him. Osiris had taken Euria's hand to try and ground her, or if nothing else, to at least keep her from running off. Perhaps he could distract her with an ice cream cone or a salted pretzel. He didn't really like using treats as a 'distraction', but sometimes a parent just needed help ... It was the suddenly stall and Osiris' hand tugging lightly on his daughter's as she paused that made the man stop in his tracks. His constellation filled tail flickered and flared to try and get Euria's attention, his pale tiger stripe markings shining brightly against his starry skin reflexively, but as Osiris turned, finally tuning in to what Euria was saying, the hybrid couldn't help but to blink. "Oh." he said a touch flatly. "So it would seem." he said smoothly, lifting a hand to brush his red hair out of his eyes. "Come now, Euria. Leave the girl to her devices. I am sure she doesn't wished to be bothered."

People-watching was one of Althaia's favourite pastimes, but people-watching while hanging from a tree was a whole other experience. Ordinarily, the first thing she noticed about someone were the features characteristic to their race, but things were different when she was upside-down; it took her a little longer to comprehend who or what she was looking at.
Which was why it took her so long to realize that she was being watched by someone, and unlike those who walked past her, it was a genuine stare rather than a wary glance. Blinking, she stared owlishly back at the little imp who was standing a ways away, her tiny hand clasped in that of a man's. The wide-eyed curiosity of the little freshling made her smile, her expression growing warm.
The fallen sacrificed her visibility and let the ribbon fall back into her face, using her newly freed hand to wave at the pair instead. Father and daughter, perhaps? Or perhaps even just an older brother and a sibling; it was hard to tell from this distance. Whatever the case, It was always sweet seeing family out and about together.--- "But she's so strange," Euria protested, confusion and curiosity driving her to root her feet more firmly in place to resist her father's gentle tugging. She just had so many questions! Like, what was she doing up in that tree? Why was she hanging by her legs? Did she want to be there, or was she stuck? Why didn't she care that everyone was looking at her? Why didn't she just use her wings to get down? Could she use her wings? Why--
Her mind could have gone on and on with all the questions, but was (fortunately) interrupted when she realized that she was being waved to. Letting out a little gasp, Euria whipped her head around to stare up at her father, her fingers curling more tightly around his hand. "Look, daddy, look! She's saying hello! Can we go say hello back?" she asked, eyes round and an excited smile blooming on her face, "Please, please, pleeeease?"
Lifting their interconnected hands, she pressed her cheek to the back of his hand and peered up at him from beneath her lashes, putting on the cutest and most hopeful expression she could muster up. Behind her, her bushy tail was waving expectantly, something that she herself was unaware of.
"It would be bad manners not to say hello after she did so first," Euria added after a moment of thought, her voice slightly distorted from squishing her cheek against her father's hand, "Very rude, in fact. We have to go say hello!"
