Alright my lovelies, here at Build-A-Kin Workshop™, we love bringing many new varieties of kin and creatures for people to love. But, it seems that one of our interns fell asleep at their desk, and someone managed to delete all of our new designs for next month's release. way to go Jerry...
After some panicking and a swift kick in the butt to our intern, we decided the best course of action would be to open up a design contest for the new kin!! Isn’t that lovely~?
So starting today or whenever the contest will open, every single person here will be given the chance to design and submit their very own kin design!
And since we know not everyone is a Picasso, we’ve opened up two separate contest; one will be to design a brand new kin, and another will be to create a great new recolor for an already existing kin.
Each contest will run for a week, and since we want the winning design to be a people pleaser, it’ll be you guys who get to vote on the winning designs! Each contest will have a week for voting, with the first contest’s voting taking place on the same week as the entry week for the second one, counting for a total of three weeks total.
After the end of each voting period, the winner of the contest will be announced, as well as two runner ups, each receiving a prize. Depending on how many entries there are (and how much extra gold I got) each submission may get a small prize as well.
Any extra rules and added commentary will be posted below, and we can’t wait to see all your designs. Have a fun time lovelies~!

-You don’t need to be a good artist to submit a design! Every design will be up for entry, whether it be a fully colored ink piece or a simple photo of a sketchbook drawing, all is welcome.
-Quote me with your submissions, this way I’ll be able to keep track of all of them and hopefully won’t lose anyone the way
- Have your submission under a spoiler tag please. I don’t wish to be rude, but I’d like to keep things organized here, and large photos tend to mess up the look of things.
-Entries will be accepted up till 12am Gaiatime (aka Pacific) a week after it starts, anything submitted after that will be ignored
-You can have a holder post if you plan on submitting something but don’t have it done, but it must be submitted by the aforementioned time.
-Only entries for the current week will be put in for submission, if a submission for a future/past contest is posted, it will be ignore
-Try your best not to steal/copy designs, I know with the recolor contest it won’t be unheard of to have similar designs, but any attempt at blatant copying of anyone else’s design will be ignored and count towards possible disqualification
-Rules might be added due to special circumstances, so keep an eye out here for any additions/modifications

Jumped the gun on the recolor contest. Oops. So... here's a very poorly drawn entry for the appropriate contest. I might or might not have accidentally lopped off the tips of a few of the arms. Sorry, dude! (Dudette? Does the kraken have a gender?)

Recolor Design: Fruity Owlatte
Oh! Can we enter both the recolor and original design contests in one week or can we only enter one contest? It wasn't clear. (Not that I have anything for the original design yet. Just curious.)
Then because I'm me: if anyone doesn't have Photoshop but still wants to enter the recolor contest, Pixlr is a great alternative. It's free and similar enough that if you're familiar with Photoshop, you'll do great. (It's what I use.)
