I'd listen to them if I were you. Here there is a funny piece of wrighting, fraimed by black mist. It reads;

In here, shadow ghost pokemon have taken over, and it is here that you'll can call out the Red Houndoom. He leaves shortly afterwards, but to fight him, you have to get to the top, and fight for your life along the way.
Ghost pokemon all have Darkness attack.
