What If A Beta Steals My story?

I would really like a beta to edit my stories because I have alot of trouble with grammer in long stories and in general. The problem is that I'm afraid a beta won't give my story back and may steal it and use the credit for my story themselves.

What can I do to make sure this doesn't happen?

When one asks another to be a bata one must trust that they will not steal the fic. There is however one thing that you can do. Post the un-betaed fic on the site you intend to place it and then replace it with the betaed version later. If the beta steals the fic and posts it elsewhere you can then acuse them of theft because your fic was posted first.
