Near the center of the desert lie the ruins of an ancient castle from a lost generation that perished due to the environmental change. Nobody knows just how old the ruins are, or even what kind of people lived there during its time. Studies and research are carried out from time to time, but for the most part the ruins are left alone.
The ruins are made of a curious type of stone that is especially tough and smooth, allowing it to remain unharmed from most attacks. While it may not look very big from the outside, the underground chambers of the castle stretch out over nearly every inch of the Saavedra Desert. The twisting corridors all look very similar, and many of the chambers are either locked up tight or booby trapped in order to keep intruders out. Many people have entered the ruins and never returned.
That being said, the Redwall City Gym Leader sometimes comes here to conduct his own private research on the ruins and, on rare occasions, even accepts gym challenges here, using the entire area of the ruins as his battlefield.
The ruins are also home to many different kinds of Pokémon, which won't hesitate to attack any travelers that they believe to be trespassing. Rumors are also told of a mysterious phantom Pokémon, that steals the souls of all who dare to trespass on its territory. Whether or not the rumors are true however, remain a mystery...
[Red, blue, green and yellow shards can be found here. You may obtain one of each once a month, for a total of four. If you challenge and defeat the phantom Pokémon, a shiny Ninetales, then you can have another four shards. The Ninetales is an NPC that you can RP yourself, however it cannot be caught and it can only be defeated once per person. It's pretty strong, so please be realistic about battling/defeating it. You will be asked to edit your challenge if you win too easily.]
Pokémon native to the area:
Gastly, Haunter, Misdreavus, Unown, Shuppet, Banette, Baltoy, Bronzor, Yamask, Cofagrigus, Golett, Golurk, Honedge
Root Fossils, Claw Fossils, and Plume Fossils can be found here using the Explorer's Kit and the HM Rock Smash. [Each person is allowed to obtain only one fossil from here]
[Black colored Pokémon can be caught with a Poké Ball, Blue colored Pokémon need to be caught with a Great Ball, and Red colored Pokémon need to be caught with an Ultra Ball.]
