The forest was all but silent as the stallion meandered through the trees, listening intently to the sounds of the animals around him. His ears twitched toward singing birds and chittering squirrels as he walked, not bothering to look to the trees above him to identify the sound makers; he already knew them by their calls. Today he should be working, he thought. He should be gathering herbs and flowers for his altars and making offerings to the spirits, but here he was, wandering aimlessly. Qiyam sighed at the thought. What a wasted day, and a lovely one at that. He closed his eyes and listened some more to the sounds around him, drawing deep breaths in a short bit of meditation. He smiled wistfully, feeling better about his use of the day.

Tziporah’s wings expanded as she glided silently over the tree tops. She needed to bring home some food to Anzu and he was certainly very large and needed a lot of food. Life in the forest was abundant with the summer’s heat. So it didn’t take long for her blue eyes to catch sight of the white slide making its way through the trees. White snakes weren’t exactly common but she was sure that Anzu would appreciate the catch.
She brought her wings in and descended rapidly toward it. As her body crashed through the tree’s it created quite the raucous and caused all the other smaller animals to scramble away and she collided with a white stallion, rather than a snake…
She bounced off him hard and landed on the ground, quickly getting to her feet in case the stallion attacked.

Qiyam managed to look up at the raucous just in time to see the blue mare diving toward him. He opened his mouth to speak, but it was too late. Before he knew it, the scaled mare was crashing into the large unicorn. The force knocked the breath from his lungs, but he scrambled to his feet without even thinking, immediately taking a defensive pose. His solid white eyes glared at the mare, quickly taking note of her kalona blood. He had been raised with the notion of her breed being untrustworthy, and he was prepared to plunge his long horn into her flesh should she attack. "Get back." His deep voice was quiet but sure. He highly disliked confrontation, but was well trained if it called for it.

She frowned around her long fangs. Good thing she hadn’t planned to go in biting because that would have been a problem. The stallion was large and Tzi could probably have taken him, however she didn’t hunt horses for food. Anzu preferred animals like bears and wolves. She hissed at the stallion fluttering her wings about before settling them in against her side, her eyes keeping watch on him.
“Well you are rather large for a snake…” She raised her head and took note of his tail. “I suppose I will have to apologize for the misunderstanding. Your tail resembles a snake. I thought a white snake would be fitting as part of my mates meal.”

Qiyam braced himself when he heard the hiss, and he lowered his head to the ground in case he needed to use his horn as a spear. When her wings settled and she didn't seem to be advancing, though, he looked up cautiously. His eyes stayed fixed on the mare, unsure of her next move or ploy.
When she began to speak, the unicorn stallion's ears pricked to listen. At first he was confused, but as she continued, he thought he might understand. This did not give him any more trust in the mare than he had when she'd bowled him over, though. To him, her apology rang hollow, but he replied to try to keep her tame. "I've never seen a fluffy snake," he commented, flipping his tail alongside his body to better inspect it. "Though I suppose from far away, perhaps..." He turned back to her, half expecting the mare to have her fangs to his throat by the time he'd refocused.

The lithe mare raised a brow at the stallion. Was he really trying to figure out why she thought his tail was a snake? Did she look like someone he should be messing round with over something like this? She considered her options. She could easily pounce at him and probably tear out his throat. But the issue was that he would be to heavy for her to fly back. She could stash his body and one of her daughters could come help... Nah. Not worth it.
"I'm not so sure that questioning my apology is in your best interest. " She couldn't wait for Anzu, the great Raven Lord and her mate to conquer this area and her little white colored stallion friend. He would see the error of his ways soon enough. "Well I guess at the end of the day, who really cares if you accept the apology." She shrugged and turned, getting ready to take back into the sky to finish hunting.

Qiyam thought a few moments before replying. "I did not question your apology, I simply questioned your eyesight. There are herbs that are supposed to help you see sharper, if you'd like. I think I've got some actually." He looked to his pouch where he carried his medicines and dried herbs, wondering if he really wanted to help this mare. She seemed rather grumpy. He wondered if it was because she hadn't been able to catch anything with her eyesight being so terrible.
Hesitantly, he picked his bag up with his teeth and dumped out all of the little vials, nosing at them until he found the right one. "Oh, here we are." Gingerly, he tapped it over to her with a hoof. "I hear it makes really good seasoning, too." The unicorn grinned at his own little joke as he made his way back to refill his bag..

The blue mare with large fangs looked at the white stallion. Really... REALLY? He was saying she had bad eye sight? She was the best hunter in the herd! Her eye sight was just freaking fine. She growled at him as he dumped out his bags and watched as he nosed the vial to her.
Though then a thought accrued to her. Sure her eyes were fine but maybe this stuff could help the other hunters. Even though he was of a lesser kindred locals often had better herb knowledge and that was beneficial to the herd as a whole. She flicked her ears and then bent down to gather the vial.
"I will make sure that the Raven Lord knows of your... Support. " She pondered some, if this stuff actually worked and didn't kill the horse she gave it too she would have to find more. "Where is this located? If this isn't a poison and does prove useful, I will order the gathers to get more for the other hunters."

Qiyam raised a brow at the thought of supporting a kalona. He'd certainly have to keep this one from his brothers. His eagerness to show off his knowledge of herbs had left him unusually bold, but perhaps there could be a benefit to this.
When she asked him more about the herb, he sort of grinned. "Oh, it isn't native. I cultivate it myself. I got the seeds from some tea traders quite some time ago and make sure to replant and care for it very carefully. Maybe there are some tea traders still around who may have more seeds if you're in need of more."

Tziporah frowned at the stallion. Tea traders... That didn't seem like a good idea. Anzu wouldn't like that. But then again in his kingdom there would need to be trade. Make one of the farming horses work on the replanting of the herb. Should this prove to be useful and not poison. She still suspected him of trying to kill her but if what he was saying was true then should need to make note of it.
She turned and walked away with the herb. "Thanks for now." And she took off into the sky again.
