Lavanya stretched and bumped paws with her jackal companion Mafube. Today they were being lazy. The sweltering African sun causing them to pant and feel more sluggish today than normal. Though she felt particularly bad for her companion and his dark pelt. They had been resting just on the other side of the rock of the male whose words actually startled the female into a low whoop of surprise. Mafube jumped as well. mostly from the whoop she had given.

"Who's there?" The female called out. Her companion rising to his paws. Though she had to agree it was peaceful about these rocks they were laying at.

The male looked at her, "Is that the best idea?" He whispered. There could be an angry predator on the other side of that thing.

Handsome was the word that she would use for this particular male as she came around the corner. Also another hyena like herself. A light laugh left her maw at his findings of her not so quite alone-ness. This Jax seemed friendly enough.

"I would say not so much as alone as you." Realizing after that the words might be very rude, "Sorry, I didn't meant that to come out so harsh. I am Lavanya. And thi-" As she was about to say her companions name he piped up himself, "I'm Mafube. And I can speak for myself. Still. Glad to make your acquaintance."

Her own fur could be a problem sometimes. Her almost albino fur could cause others to turn away from her. Despite the black tips on her ears, her nose, and her paw pads. "I think your colors are delightful." She stated. She actually was quite fond of them. "They don't know what they are missing." She grinned at him. Some hyena bonding was nice.

The little jackal glanced upwards to the male, "Oh you know, just hanging around."

The female chuckled and put some of her weight upon the smaller one who held her up quite surprisingly. "Yeah that sounds about right."

"Yes, Mafube and I travel a lot. We just don't have a pack to call our own." She said. One day they might find a place that would suit them. Right now she didn't mind being without a pack, she had Mafube to keep her company. Though when he said something about her not having a male she was taken aback by his boldness.

"No, no male." He sparked a curiosity as to why he wondered about it. Or at least made the statement. "Why thank you." The compliment was soothing.

Mafube on the other hand gave a visible eye roll. The male was attempting to woo the heart of the female laughing beast and although he did not mind possibly having another join them, he could see the other was not being subtle. Maybe that was for the best.
