For those who may not be familiar with the establishment, Dairy Queen is a fairly well-known ice cream parlor in New England. I am uncertain as to how far across the country or in how many other countries it can be found. Their signature treat is the DQ Blizzard, similar to the McDonald's "McFlurry," but in a wider variety and larger size. I myself am fond of the Strawberry Cheesequake Blizzard, strawberry ice cream with small chunks of cheesecake blended generously into the mix.

Every so often, when the television is actually on, I'll see commercials for things like burgers and other fast food-style meals at Dairy Queen. But none of the ones I've been to offer anything but ice cream. So my question to y'all is: who actually eats at Dairy Queen?

I LOVE THE STRAWBERRY CHEESCAKE BLIZZARD! I mean fight a bear for it love! heart heart heart But my BF and I like they're chili dogs too. It's not really disreputable to eat food there, it's just a business that started out in ice cream and is now trying to branch out. That's not a bad thing is it? I mean the food is pretty good, even though they're more well known for the ice cream.

Of course not. It's just that I rarely, if ever, see actual food advertised or sold at any DQ I've ever been to. They're all like "WE HAVE KICKASS ICE CREAM!!! Oh, and I guess we have fries and chili dogs too, apparently."

I went there yesterday to pick something up for my mom and grandma after I got off of work. They have butt loads of artery clogging delights there. I got my mom a mushroom swiss burger and my gma a chili cheese dog. They gave me free sundays with the meals too. It was so hot in my car that I couldn't make it home in time before the ice cream melted so I had to inhale them down while I was driving.

At the Dairy Queens near my house, they only serve ice cream. So you can't get any food.

There's a DQ in North Attleboro (I pass it by on the way to the Emerald Square mall) that serves food. I've only eaten there once or twice since it's a bit of a drive, but they're actually pretty good. o: Pretty decent burgers (decent on a fast food level I mean).

No, it's not just an East- Coast thing.

My sister worked there her senior year of high school, and they sold hot dogs. They weren't exactly popular, but I've seen people buy them. This is in So. California, where you either don't care what you eat or don't eat anything at all. -.-
They also have french fries and all of the ice cream creations. They also serve Ice cream cakes and other brands of ice cream sold in boxes.

DQ is quite popular. The one thing they all definately have in common is the ice cream treats; not all serve the hot dogs, burgers, etc.
Personally, I fell out of eating DQ about 15 years ago. They changed the formula for their vanilla ice cream back in the early 90's to a "99% fat free" ice cream. And it just tastes so BLAND to me. No matter what I top or mix it with.
Sorry, DQ. Give me a pint of Ben & Jerry's any day.

Dairy Queen- Da na na that's what I like about Texaaaas!
That's the way the commercial goes here. And people do eat there. Although I prefer to just eat a super chocolatey Blizzard!
