Official NPCs

The world of Kahakina is full of interesting characters that one can interact with. To help you better understand the setting, we have provided a list of important NPCs that your character may or may not know about. It is important to note the following interaction guidelines when using an official NPC:

|| You can use official NPCs in solos if they suit the situation.
|| You can reference a NPC in a roleplay if they fit the situation.
|| You can request for a NPC to be part of a roleplay by contacting Ainuhea with your plot idea; a staff member will roleplay the character with you if the NPC fits the situation.

|| You cannot have familial relations with an NPC without approval from staff.
|| You cannot power-play a situation such as changing the NPC's current status or backstory.

More guidelines may be added as needed, but we always welcome you to reach out to Ainuhea with any questions you may have.

Kaha’iko NPCs

AINUHEA
(They/Them/Their)
One of the oldest elders that dwells at the Noelani springs, Ainuhea is known for their vast knowledge on magic. Many will make the pilgrimage to the spring to seek Ainhuea's guidance on living with magical talents, and they will often assist with training a young child in controlling newfound magical skill. Ainuhea's personal ability with clairvoyance makes them an important member of the elder council, and many will respect their word or opinion when they decides to chime in. Normally, Ainhuea is content to sit back and allow others to work toward solutions.

Ainuhea has lived in Noelani for a majority of their life and will most likely never leave the springs.

Personality
Ainuhea is calm and collected, and seems to move at a considerate pace. They choose their words deliberately, and speaks without any flourish. Most who spend time with them are left feeling as if they are speaking with the gods as Ainhuea is known to give off the feeling that they are wise beyond their years.

EMERE
(He/Him/His)
The newest member of the elder council, Emere is ambitious and focused on finding a solution to the Great Drought. Growing up in Pu’honu, he has watched the river slowly dry up year after year and refuses to accept the reality. As a result of his determination, he has called forth the first great gathering between the Menehune and Kaha'iko, and will do whatever it takes to bring back the water-filled days of the past.

Emere currently dwells in Noelani, but will occasionally make a trip through Pale’iko to evaluate the state of the riverlands.

Personality
Emere is determined and not afraid to share his ideas or work to implement them as needed. He can come off as abrupt, but genuinely has the best interest of the tribe in his heart. He can be stubborn, proud, and individual, but has earned his seat in the elder council through his dedication to finding a solution to the Great Drought.

Menehune NPCs

KAPA'A
(He/Him/His)
One of the most well known leaders, Kapa'a is a leader/enforcer of the Ko’kapu. Although many settlements have their own leader to enforce, most will come to Kapa'a for any questions, as he is one of the most experienced leaders. A true believer in only asking others what he himself will do, Kapa'a will often assist with any activities he can to both monitor and support his community.

Kapa'a lives primarily in Po’onua, but will travel closer to the other settlements to gather with the other leaders and discuss the Ko'kapu.

Personality
Kapa'a is a strict enforcer, but does not harass or hurt his community. Instead, he will lead through lessons, and will speak to each member as if they are on the same level as him. He may appear gruff and unwilling for change, but any who watch him work can tell he has his community as his main focus, and will do what he can to protect them and follow the ways of the Ko'kapu.

RUIHI
(She/Her/Hers)
Ruihi could arguably be the one Menehune who has had the most contact with the Kaha'iko neighbors. She is well known for traveling back and forth on the canal to deliver news about the state of the lands, and also is one of the most relaxed in terms of the Ko’kapu because of her travels. There are even rumors that she has taken up a Kaha'iko lover, which has left her as both an oddity and an outcast amongst some of the more dedicated Menehune members.

Ruihi is often found traveling between Naele and Ukupaia, and was one of the first to be invited to the great gathering.

Personality
Ruihi is a bit socially awkward, still struggling to open up and explore the world that is the Kaha'iko. She will often appear as introverted, but shows a keen interest in new things and concepts. She may not be the type to jump into a new idea or game, but she is sure to watch with intrigue and try to dissect anything she sees. However, her main focus will always be messages, as she takes great pride in being the main messenger between the two races.
