Gaia Name: Comic_Book_Joker
Character Name: Daniel "Danny" Ketch
Code Name: Ghost Rider
Alignment: Good
Powers: At will, Danny Ketch can, using the spirit of Noble Kale that had previously lived within a mysterious pendant affixed to his motorcycle, change into the Ghost Rider. He will change into the Ghost Rider whether he wishes to or not if innocent blood is spilled near him. His motorcycle, though it is normally a conventional cruiser-style bike, will change with him once he changes (see picture for motocycle appearance); he may also change motorcycles owned by others, but does not often do so, as his own is usually nearby. His bike, once changed, can perform otherwise impossible feats, like riding vertically, on water, or on thin air. His primary weapon is a three-foot chain that is normally wrapped around his body, but may be used however Ghost Rider sees fit, as it acts according to his will; it can increase in length, be used as a spear, or even deassemble itself to be used like shrapnel, then reassemble itself. The Ghost Rider's most powerful weapon is the Penance Stare: by locking eyes with his opponent, he can force his victim to experience all the emotional and physical pain that the victim himself has caused anyone and everyone when commiting illegal and/or immoral acts, leaving the victim a soulless shell. The are drawbacks to the Penance Stare: it will not work on those who are already soulless or have more eyes than the Ghost Rider can lock onto, nor will it work against the blind, drugged, or insane.
Bio: Daniel Ketch was born in Brooklyn, New York. Daniel and his sister Barbara, attacked by gangsters, fled and hid in a junkyard where Daniel found a motorcycle bearing a mystical sigil. Upon touching the sigil, he was possessed by a spirit who claimed to be Noble Kale, the Phantom Rider of the Wild West, and thus was transformed into the Ghost Rider. He thrashed the gangsters, but was unable to save Barbara, who had been critically wounded by Deathwatch and slipped into a coma. Barbara was eventually killed by Blackout, whom Ketch had acquired as a mortal enemy. Ketch later learned the origin of Zarathos, the demon from whom the original Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, drew his power, from the mystical dream lord Nightmare, who believed the entity to which Ketch was bound was Zarathos reborn yet again and freed from the Soul Crystal that Blaze had bound it in. Ketch/Ghost Rider denied this, though others, including Mephisto, believe otherwise.
Extra: Ghost Rider is one of the founding members of the modern-day Midnight Sons, having searched for the other member himself, alongside Johnny Blaze. As such, he bears the brand of the Midnight Sons on his arm, a burning dagger, which appears and causes pain to the bearer whenever there is great danger to the world, and the brand would continue to cause pain until the bearers of the brand answered the summons.
