Gaia Name: Comic_Book_Joker
Character name: unknown
Codename: The Spectre
Alignment: Good
Powers: The Spectre is one of the most powerful known beings in the DC Universe. His supernatural powers afford him the ability to become intangible, alter his size, telepathy (such as creating elaborate illusions and displaying a "fearsome aura" around himself), flight, the ability to give life to inanimate objects, and transmute organic and inorganic matter into any form he chooses. Also, in desperate situations, the Mystic Ring of Life might appear on his finger, allowing him to perform feats far outside his already-wide-ranging power. This event happens ONLY in absolutely desperate situations. It should also be noted that if he goes without a host for too long, the Spectre becomes unfocused, and acts as if he's lost his mind. Only bonding to a new, suitable host can fix this event.
Bio: The Spectre is God's Spirit of Vengeance. Merged with Jim Corrigan, the Spectre has brought vengeance to many a soul, often while using his own brand of gallows humor. His acts of vengeance are sometimes huge, like when he judged the nation of Vlatava, the history of which was an endless cycle of civil war, ethnic cleansing, retribution, and blood feuds that had endured for centuries. The Spectre responded by judging the whole nation guilty, razing the land and killing every citizen except for two people, one of whom being the on-again-off-again villain Count Vertigo, deciding that he was individually not guilty due to spending most of his adult life away from his country. Other times, the Spectre appears as a warning, such as the case with the pending execution of a wrongfully convicted man. His death sentence was commuted to life in prison after the Spectre threatened to kill the entire population of the state of New York in retribution, arguing that if the execution was carried out, the "people of the state of New York" would become guilty of murder in his eyes. In the past, the Spectre was still the ultimate engine of vengeance; it was he that was resposible for the deaths of all the Egyptian firstborns, leading to the release of the Jews from slavery. The Spectre answers to only the Prescence, generally believed to be God, as he usually calls it "My Lord". The Spectre is a founding member of the Justice Society of America.

NOTE: The Spectre is far too powerful to make regular appearances, and as such, will only appear as NEEDED. Jim Corrigan might appear more regularly, however. If Corrigan, the Spectre himself, or whoever his host is at the time (because he WILL have at least two host changes during his time in the guild) is present when a brutal crime takes place, though, I cannot be anything less than faithful to the Spirit of Vengeance, and being faithful to the Spectre means that you WILL lose, and retribution WILL be severe. Consider this your warning.
