Bio: Edward Blake began his career as a masked vigilante as a teenager. He founded the Minutemen, but subsequently left the team after he was caught trying to rape the original Silk Spectre. In the following years, he made a name for himself as a war hero, volunteering to fight in Korea, as well as Vietnam, where he shot a woman pregnant with his child after she slashed his face with a broken bottle. The Comedian would carry that scar for the rest of his life, and it would result in his donning a full-face mask to hide it when in costume, in order to protect his identity. His actions in a hostage situation put him beyond reproach when the Keene act, which banned masked vigilantes, was passed, allowing him to obtain a job as a government operative, thus staying active after everyone else, save Dr. Manhattan and Rorschach, retired. His life in his world came to an end when, after discovering Adrian Veidt's plans to trick the world's nations into making peace with each other, Veidt threw Blake out of his own penthouse window. The Comedian fell to his death.
