Remiel walked through the forest, and admired the leaves as he roamed. It was fall, and the temperature had been dropping. The leaves had started their transition from their natural colors to the vibrant exciting and exuberant colors of fall. This always intrigued him. That the leaves could be their natural selves for so long and then with the integration of fall they would change and fall from the trees they called home to rest upon the forest floor and the ones who roamed underneath them. It was then that one so fated leaf was to brush against his shoulder and remind him of it's journey. It was the journey he found fun. It was so full of adventure, excitement, joy, sadness, struggle, and trials that he just enjoyed it.
He caught a rather large oak leaf floating around on the breeze that he just felt the need to follow. He stared at the leaf and followed it this way and that, around this tree and that, then up and over and swirling around in the air. It was so graceful and calm that it made him almost want to be a leaf on the wind. His wings had always been too small to support flight, but he flapped them just the same. He tended to be a goofball and some had taken to calling him a puppy at times for the moments when he would follow his brother around. He got so used to hearing "Your brother is the brains and you are the puppy to follow him around!" that he just accepted it. It really did not bother him that people thought that way of him. After all what was wrong with that way of thinking anyways? So he followed his brother around? What was the big deal with that? At least he wasn't causing trouble or wreaking havoc upon the world as a skin walker would.
He continued to follow the journey this large oak leaf was making through the forest. It was a much larger leaf than most of the others, it must have watched and been through several many trials and tribulations on it's journey through the seasons. He wondered idly what it would be live to only live for such a short period of time. What would he do if he only had a couple seasons in which to do it? Would he change the way he did things? Would he do anything different? Would he travel more? Just what would be in store for him? He could never be sure, but these were the questions he asked himself internally.
He couldn't quite help it, and he had been called naive and simple minded before, but he just enjoyed the simple things. So what if he was simple minded. who cares. What really matter was that he was happy, and just like his large oak leaf companion soaring through the air, he was happy.
It was then that he lost track of what was in front of him and ran straight smack into another.
"Ooomph...." was the sound he made as he sat back after colliding with whatever had been in front of him. He shook his head and found out that it was another stallion. "Oh... I'm sorry.... I didn't see you...." He noticed the little sparkles at the sides of his eyes.
"Oh look... The fairies are back....."
