It was practically a duty for Kumiho such as he to pass on their genetics in the hope of making more powerful Kumiho. His parents had never wanted him to leave in the first place, and though they had allowed him to turn his back on arranged marriage since the one they had chosen for him hadn't been suiting to his tastes, they still expected him to marry well.He wasn't planning to marry just yet, but he could still do one thing and that was to pass on his genes. Now Kumiho were fairly scarce out in the greater world yet, so his options were limited. But why be restricted to his own kind? Other people had other skills and other magics, so why limit himself? The only reason he would have wed and imbued with Kumiho before had been because of the limited options offered of any other species and certainly what the worlds needed was more Kumiho.
So then, that was what he would do. He would sire a strong child and raise it in proper traditions so it would know his heritage as well as allowing the child to know the cultures around it. If there was anything his parents had told him it was that elders knew much, but there was always something to be learned from the young, since they saw the world with fresh eyes. His child or children would have as much to teach him as he would them.
