Iartuupe is ... quite simply ... crazy. He really likes causing pain to others, both physical and emotional. It gives him a thrill *cough*
The only creatures that he really considers to be equal to himself are others that also like causing pain, or that manage to amuse him for a time, or stay alive under his torments.
He also thinks that he hears the voice of a demonic god and that he, himself, is a demon trapped in the form of a lion. He believes that this god tells him to do things and taught him from when he was young how to cause pain and what he should do with his life.

Iartuupe was born many years ago, along with several other cubs. When they were all very young, the cubs were playing together just out of sight of their parents. Even then ... Iartuupe was ambitious and cruel and he attacked each of his siblings in turn - killing them.
When his horrified parents asked what happened, he made up a story about another lion coming and attacking them - leaving him the only one alive. What he didn't know was that one of his sisters had only faked death. But by the time she stopped faking... the now much-smaller family had left the 'dangerous' area, leaving her alone.
And so, from his earliest memories, Iar had been stained with pain and the death of his siblings. Things didn't improve much from there.
As soon as he was old enough to leave home, he did so - the only miracle being that he didn't try to kill his mother before he went. He admired her, in a way, for being able to stand the pain of bearing cubs, and for never really showing the anguish that he knew she felt at the loss of his siblings - even though she never knew he was responsible.
Alone, Iar sought out any weaker than him, those he could torment, torture, and fight and come out the winner, the stronger. Soon, though, he got bored with that, and also started looking for opponents that might have a chance at hurting and beating him as well.
He found a few, but not very many.... and then, he began to hear a voice in his head. The voice told him that the reason he always won so easily was because he wasn't a lion at all. No, he was a demon trapped in lion's flesh, and so was stronger and better than most others.
Not all, though .... not all. Somewhere, he was told, there were others like him. Some knew what they were, and were also seeking ... others didn't know, and must be found and taught their true heritage.
The voice instructed him to go and seek out these others ... to join together in a pride. He was also told that if he could succeed in finding females of strong blood, they might also carry some small part of demon heritage... and if he could get these females with cubs, the cubs may house demonic spirits as well - pulled to this world from where they were currently trapped in other realms. This was his other task ... to build up the strength of the demon pride. And once their numbers were great enough ... they would take down the rest of the lions, everywhere, and use their blood and pain to raise power and once again take on their true demon forms.
Note: This lion is officially dead, IC'ly. Any old logs can still be completed, but nothing new will be allowed for him!

On the whole, Adhabu-shinda is a quiet and calm lion. Though he's large in size, he doesn't use this size to his advantage, tending to be polite to everyone. His family is very important to him, especially his twin brother.

Adhabu joined the Jini-msemi along with a large family group when he was younger. Since then, he had gone on his name quest and discovered that he can overcome pain.
Adhabu met a lioness outside the pride lands and spent a few days nursing her back to health after an accident during their hunt together. When they parted, both were sad at this and the lioness plans to seek out Adhabu later on.
