Auri is a very peaceful sort of leopardess - though she hasn't really been allowed to have much peace for herself. She was born far away and taken against her will into a "sanctuary" where she had to fight to live ... only surviving now because she is also fairly stubborn.
Once escaped from this zoo with a bit of help, Auri is finding out that she has no real idea how to survive in the wild.

Auri was born far away, close to India ... and grew from a cub to juvenile fairly normally. Then, her mother was killed by hunters, and she was taken and put into a sort of "zoo" run by a very rich man. The animals he captured were fed until they were old enough to more or less live on their own and then released into a huge sort of park where tame deer were set free from time to time for them to eat.
From time to time the man would also go hunting himself in his park - as if to prove his manhood by killing an already captive creature. He would also sometimes rent out his park to others who wanted the same.
So Auri never has truly learned to hunt and has lived in fear of humans almost as far back as she can remember. But a part of her vaguely recalls her cubhood, and wishes that she could go back to that feeling of peace and happiness.
Then, the man who owns Auri moved, putting all of his animals into cages. Many of them have died along the way and are still dying in this new place, since they aren't even allowed a semblance of freedom. So the man has sent his hunters out into the wilds of Africa to gather more creatures to put into his little "zoo".
One of the lions captured in the hunt for new zoo-creatures was Taonga. Together, he and Auri managed to escape the zoo but now... Taonga only thinks of Auri as a burden to him. Confused by the wild and by her growing feelings for the male, Auri has set out on her own for a bit to learn how to be useful.

Hariti tends to wander from place to place. She was separated from her family when she was young, and has yet to find them again. There was one point where she hooked up with a handsome boy and had cubs of her own, but by this point they have moved on as well.
