Beatrix "Black Bee" Marigold

Age: 39
Gender: female
Eye Color: Brown
Hair Color: Black with hints of grey
Height: 6'0"
Weight: 170lbs
Sexuality: Pansexual
Voice:
Scars, Markings, or Accessories: slight wrinkles that denote her age along with the healed scars that one would expect from her reputation. A golden key hangs from her neck at all times, this is the Codex Key.
Race: Human
Bio: The dread pirate "Black Bee" is a common ghost story that is told in the water kingdom, one that terrifies children into being good and worries the adults that believe in her. A normal water kingdom girl that was kidnapped, taken from her home in the dead of night by group of blackhearted thugs, looking to do any number of nasty things with her. The motive of her capture is unknown, but anyone fool enough to travel to Bloodstone island and actually ask her will get any number of answers ranging from ransom to demon worshipers looking for sacrifice, either way, she spent her early years as a slave. She remained a slave until the age of 16 where she was set free by her predecessor, the former pirate king. A pirate that only went by the name "Draco", he set the girl free after forming a bond with her over her hatred of the world that never gave her a chance. Taking Beatrix in as his daughter, Draco gave her the name "Beatrix Merrigold" and trained her in the ways of the pirate code, breeding her to take his place once she died, which he did when Beatrix decided he had lived a good life and slit his throat in his sleep, a truly fitting death, she thought. Nowadays, she looks over her fathers island, Bloodstone Isle, and keeps the code, no matter what the cost.
Baptized in the blood of her adopted father, Beatrix took the throne of the pirate king and became the new keeper of the Pirate Codex at the age of 25. How does one rule over a kingdom of crime and deceit? Beatrix knew how and revised the Codex to keep all of pirate kind in her firm grasp. Living her life on the sea allowed for Beatrix to hone her powers of water manipulation and refine them to cause terror to anyone that might be unfortunate to cross her. And so, a myth was born, The Pirate Queen, the human leviathan that reduces naval ships to nothing in minutes.
Personality: Beatrix is not the delicate flower that her last name would suggest. She is an intimidating force that all pirates know to fear. Beatrix does not recognize compassion or mercy, she will, however, recognize honor and loyalty, and money of course. Generally, Beatrix appears heartless, as one would expect from a pirate queen, but she is still human, and behind her power hungry exterior, there is a deep sadness and a lot of pain that drives her anger.

Powers:
Bound by the Code: Honor bound by the code, this provision refers to Article XI of the Pirate Codex that prohibits the use of special abilities against her own crew and other pirates that have not violated the code.
Saltwater Heart Beatrix's powers are only at their full potential at sea or in other salt water bodies of water. Any fresh water manipulation automatically cuts Beatrix's power and efficiency by u, Manipulating salt water while standing on land (ex. on a beach) cuts power and efficiency by %.
Slipstream 5% power Cost, 1 post cooldown: Beatrix uses the waves surrounding the vessel she is on board to reach a higher speed than possible with just a sail. This allows her to always have the upper hand in a sea battle. Power is only used at sea on a boat or ship.
Mist Choke 10% Power Cost, 1 post cooldown: A move that is mostly used for interigation and torture, Beatrix places her hand on a single opponent's face and forces the moisture in the air into their lungs, effectively drowning them slowly. Move will not work in arid climates like deep within the poison or fire kingdoms. This move takes 2 posts to kill an opponent in a moist climate, 4 to kill in a neutral climate. If contact is broken between Beatrix and her target, the move is interrupted.
Batten down the hatches 30% Power Cost, 5 post cooldown: This power is a harbinger of destruction for so many unfortunate ships at sea. Beatrix raises her hands to the sky and begins to collect moisture from the clouds and sea, forming an intense storm that surrounds her vessel and up to 2 large targets. Storm takes one post to accumulate and lasts until the battle is over or is interrupted by another force. This ability allows Beatrix to unleash the full potential of her powers, cutting the power loss of every ability by P and decreasing cooldowns by 2 as long as the storm is in effect.
Great Vortex 50% Power Cost, 5 post cooldown: An ability that Beatrix is known for, Beatrix accelerates the sea around her causing a large whirlpool to form that can engulf any targets that get caught in it. The vortex lasts for 5 posts or, if "Batten down the hatches" is in effect, until the end of the storm.
Leviathan Form 75% Power Cost, 10 post cooldown: Beatrix's most famous and deadly ability, The Pirate Queen goes into a trance like state and her mind becomes one with the sea. Enormous, Kraken-esq tentacles made of water spring forth from the sea and are used to bring destruction to anything in their wake. The Queen cannot be reasoned with in this state, and will not stop her rampage until her target(s) has been eliminated or the target endures her attack for 7 posts and she passes out from energy loss. All water abilities receive a 3 post cooldown after this ability resolves.
Weapon of choice:
Beatrix prefers her water abilities for most altercations, but, keeping to the code, she also wields a large scimitar and a flintlock pistol for close quarter encounters.
Strengths: (At least 3)
- Incredibly powerful on the sea
- a keen mind for tactics
- a killer instinct and ruthless intent
Weaknesses: (At least 3)
- Powers have little effect on land
- Emotionally unstable at times
- rules over the criminal and rebellious, always in a dangerous position
Fighting Style:
when not using her water abilities to level other ships, she is well trained in a form of scimitar dance-fighting practiced in the water kingdom. A fighting style based on fluid moments and quick strikes.
