I gotta admit, I tend to need to rant a lot. So instead of bottling it all up inside, Im just gunna make this thread here for me to vent and get things off my chest.
Dont think this is just for me though, anyone else is free to use this space here to vent their frustrations and ask for consolation if they need it.
Though I do feel like it'll mostly be me here...

So this new stupid cap right? 20 sycamortes a DAY?!?! They dont even drop gold everytime!!! Pretty much everyone's main source of gold, and for most people gold for their QUESTS, are now gone. Thanks gaia.
The worst part is that they can't use the inflation as an excuse, they're still selling goddamn gold generators for goodness sake!!! They haven't even said they're planning on releasing a goldsink, they go and release a brand new recolor in Rococo, which could have easily been released in Loyal's gonk I'd understand if they put a cap on the amount of gold you can get per day, trees would still drop useful things once you can't get more gold! But not now, not now that there's still gold generators, not now that GC users are still much better than LK players, not now that there aren't more bosses that are worth defeating...NOT NOW emotion_donotwant

Theyre doing it all backwards!! First you help make the economy stable and lower prices, THEN you start lowering the game rewards since the high prices wouldnt be needed anymore!! Now its just removing the income without lowering prices its vile!

Exactly! I even suggested in an AtS to raise the taxes on items that are above the average, that way it'd discourage people that try to sell things much higher than their ABP, that sounds like a way to try to solve inflation, while putting a cap on Sycamortes just sounds like you're trying to encourage people to buy GC, nothing to do with inflation stressed

Minor rant. Too tired to endlessly debate it. I'm also not stupid enough to get into an argument with someone who isn't willing to consider anyone else's viewpoints but would, instead, rather insult their intelligence.
I was reading a thread about the new LK nerf and there was this one idiot user who, although (s)he made a few good points about how to improve the nerf, said two things that really bugged me. In no particular order. Also only loosely edited.
One: that "If you want to keep LK a viable way to get your spendable gold from, while also saving the economy, this is the way to advocate it. Not by mindless complaining." Erm. No. User feedback is not allowed in Site Feedback-- i.e., you shouldn't be telling other users how to respond to things or that their way of responding is stupid or mindless. You might consider it mindless complaining, others might call it feedback. It might not be well presented. It might be emotional and whiny. That's fine. It's that user's prerogative to post that. Furthermore, even if it was mindless complaining... staff are still reading that and they can still get a feel for the opinions of the userbase from that. Yes, it's recommended that you provide alternative suggestions or ways to improve but it isn't required. What they wanted to suggest might already have been said. There's nothing wrong with agreeing with previous posts. Likewise, there's nothing wrong with saying "I don't know how to improve this but I hate it and I wish staff would fix it."
It also comes across as being rather egotistical. Like "oh ho! my ideas are superior to yours and you should be more like me."
Two: gold gens didn't cause inflation. Derp. No. They did. They weren't the sole cause, no. Games like LK (even though that didn't exist when gold gens were introduced), booty grab, and switch'em also had a role. Gaia cash. Yes. The causes are many and varied, but gold gens are a huge part of the problem. Your counterargument that because a user might earn 10 tril in LK and a user wins the ultimate pot (10 tril) in a particular gold gen evens things out... doesn't work. Because everyone who plays a gold gen gets something! They might not all be winners, but they do get consolation prizes that hurt the economy just as badly. At least with LK, the big prizes are 1 and 2 bil... the rest? Chump change. Gold gens, on the other hand? Multiple billions or trillions. And those are just for the consolation prizes. (I'm given to understand that the prizes have been less spectacular lately, but they're still better in comparison to anything that LK has to offer in terms of gold rewards.) There is a clear difference and I am currently not awake enough to explain it (and that nasty cold is still messing with my head), but geez. To say that gold gens absolutely, positively have nothing to do with Gaia's current economy? That's nonsense. (Not the word that I want to use.)
I mean, threads like this and this are clearly making something of nothing! They just want attention. Clearly.

So they made a thread on it, stating their reasoning behind the hard cap is that some people are botting the sycamortes and making more gold than they should. This causes them to put more gold into the economy which is not helping at all. So while I get where theyre coming from, they really didnt think this all the way through, so hopefully theyll listen to peoples feedback and fix things up soon sweatdrop

I completely agree. So many times on this site I see people making a mountain outta a mole hill, either to inflate their own ego or get pity from others. Its so aggrivating sometimes to see people rant about things while not even bothering to do a little research on what theyre talking about scream Like there's so much evidence out there that gold gens are one of the major causes of the inflation, so what?! People make my head hurt ==

Nobody thought about cheaters and stuff yesterday, which means the staff failed to inform us about this. Not only they didn't inform us about this problem that affect us all and the game itself, they didn't ask us about way(s) to try to fix the problem. All we can do is indeed hope that they'll listen, and that in the future they'll inform us about problems and changes before something like this happens again. The staff really needs to work on their communcation skills *sigh*

I don't really know if it's inappropiate or not, since you are speaking the truth. How could someone think that gold gens did nothing to improve inflation? Just how?! And while it is true that LK also generates gold, it's a game, that's what games are for, to make gold. The ones that shouldn't have existed in the first place are gold gens, not games, not LK, gold freaking generators! stressed

I think they're still so used to keeping things under wraps from us that they forget that theyre supposda be somewhat transparent now

Heh. I honestly just felt better having typed it out and posted it, but thank you both for the support!
On both your posts, though, I agree. The returning Gaia staff made a big deal about how they'd be communicating with us more and listening to what we have to say. Making a feedback thread after the nerf caused such an uproar just feels like an insult. If they'd consulted with us before, it would've been better. (Although that sounds kind of entitled now that I write it out. I don't mean it that way. Just that it would have been nice for those of us who play to the game to have been included in a discussion about future directions of gameplay.) People still would have been upset regardless, but the uproar would have been a little less all-consuming. I don't know.
The community thus far has made a lot of great alternative suggestions. I just hope that the staff consider some of them.

That is very true! They were doing so well being transparent with things before, seeing this happen is almost like an insult. Its not a small thing either, its effects a large majority of the populace, it makes no sense why they wouldnt want to get peoples take on it before implementing it, which to me makes me thing either this was planned out far in advanced, or was a rush job so they had no time to discuss it. Either one is pretty sad to think about though emo

Agreed, after informing us about stuff, asking for our opinions and suggestions, doing something like this just doesn't make sense! I understand and actually appreciate that they updated LK without saying a word before, bc the amulets were a nice surprise! But this, why did they think nobody would be mad at this? Why did they think they should do this without talking about it with us? Ofc I want to believe they had their reasons, not that they just don't care about what we think emotion_facepalm
It's really annoying when the same person keeps undercutting you in the MP by 1 gold. emotion_facepalm It's like... I'd understand if you'd done it by a couple billion. That's what I do. It makes sense and it's a surefire way to help lower the ABP in the MP to a more reasonable level. But one lousy piece of gold? It's kind of a d**k move. Personally, I'll buy the more expensive one if I see an item that I want and someone has done this. No hesitation.
And while I'm not super angry about this (i.e., I'm not going to lose any sleep over it), I am annoyed enough that right now I'm purposefully driving down the selling price just to piss off this other person and cut down on their profit. I mean, it's an item that I got for free and I'll at least have something to show for it no matter how much I make from it.
