This thread is a sub-thread to the main Creature Combat RP. This is the place where I'd like to discuss the stats of our characters.

Click here for the main Creature Combat thread.

http://www.gaiaonline.com/guilds/viewtopic.php?t=25088967&_gaia_t_=1272&page=last

So I'm planning the main thread to include RPG-esque turn based battles. So I think it's best we discuss the levels and stats of the characters as they're introduced. Below are the stats.

Health Points (HP): These are your character's stamina in battle. If they run out of HP, they'll be knocked out (or KOed for short).

Energy Points (EP): Your character's basic moves require no EP to use. However, stronger moves your character has up their sleeve will require EP. The stronger that move is, the more EP it'll cost. It's best to use EP wisely in battle against tough opponents.

(I was also thinking that you'd be able to use your own HP to fuel your attacks when you run out of EP, but I'm not sure about that yet. Anyone think that's a good idea?)

Power (POW): Your character's attacks will do more damage the more POW they have. Because of this, POW is a hard stat to upgrade. While most stats can be upgraded per 1 level up, you need to save your exp points for 5 level ups before you have enough exp to upgrade POW.

Defense (DEF): If your character has more DEF, attacks will do less damage to them. Just like POW, you must save your exp for 5 levels in order to upgrade it. But unlike POW, most animals can't upgrade their DEF at all. In fact, most characters in this RP will have a permanent DEF of 0, even the stronger ones. I'll get more into that later.

Speed (SPD): This will determine who goes first in a battle. Whoever has higher speed will go before the others in a turn. I haven't thought about what to do if two characters have the same speeds.

Every creature has what I like to call Base Stats. These are the stats that they all have at level 1. When someone levels up, they can choose to upgrade a stat, or save their exp points for a future level up when they can afford better upgrades.

Here are the Base Stats of a cat. Cats all have these stats at Level 1.

HP: 3
EP: 5
POW: 2
DEF: 0
SPD: 3

So let's take our kitty and train him a bit. Let's say he levels up, and chooses to upgrade his HP. What does his HP become? Well, we'll simply add his base HP onto his current amount to upgrade it.That means his HP goes from 3 to 6. If he levels up again, and decides to upgrade his HP again, we'll do the same thing. Add his base HP to his current one to get 9.

(You may have noticed that cats have a base DEF of 0. Because of that, their DEF cannot be upgraded. It would be like adding 0 to 0. As I said, most animal varieties have a base DEF of 0, so be warned.)

(I'm also thinking of adding a "perks" function to the stat. The idea is, every character gets 1 extra point on a single base stat. You can use this to make your character unique. If you wanted to, you could give this cat a SPD perk. He'd start with a Base SPD of 4, and can upgrade it to 8 with a level up.

What does anyone think of the "perks" idea? I'm not going to add it yet unless it sounds like a good thing.)

Also, feel free to ask me what the Base Stats for your animal type are. Each one is different stat-wise.

I'd also like to discuss "auras" on this thread. These play a semi-important part to strategy in this RP. If you've ever played Pokémon, then you probably know that they have different "types". These give offensive and defensive advantages against Pokémon of other types. Well, with Creature Combat's "auras", that's basically the idea.

Here's the list of auras, and what they do. I may add more later if I get ideas.

Neutral: Often represented by the colour gray, neutral auras have nothing special about them. They have no offensive advantages. Attacks that use no aura are neutral attacks, even if used by someone with a non-neutral aura.

Red: Offensively, red aura attacks do double damage to those with yellow auras. Red auras also receive half damage from yellow attacks. Red takes regular damage from red attacks. They receive double damage from blue attacks.

Blue: Blue aura attacks do double damage to red auras. They also receive half damage from red attacks. Blue attacks do regular damage to blue auras. They receive double damage from yellow auras.

Yellow: Yellow does double damage to blue, and takes double damage from red. Blue attacks only do half damage to yellow, and yellow does regular damage to itself.

Orange: As a combination of red and yellow, orange does double damage to both yellow and blue. It can also inflict double damage to green. It takes half damage from all aforementioned auras, and regular damage from itself. Its big weakness is purple aura.

Purple: As a combination of blue and red, purple does double damage to both red and yellow. It can also inflict double damage to orange. It takes half damage from all aforementioned auras, and regular damage from itself. Its big weakness is green aura.

Green: As a combination of yellow and blue, green does double damage to both blue and red. It can also inflict double damage to purple. It takes half damage from all aforementioned auras, and regular damage from itself. Its big weakness is orange aura.

Black: Black is the best offensively, and the worst defensively. It does double damage to all other auras except white. It also receives double damage from every aura except white. It even inflicts and receives this from neutral. It does and receives regular damage from white

White: As the opposite to black, white is the best defensively, and the worst offensively. It does half damage to all other auras except black. It also receives half damage from every aura except black. It even inflicts and receives this from neutral. It does and receives regular damage from black.

That's the auras. You can choose whichever one you want for your character from red, blue, yellow, orange, purple, green, black, white, or neutral.

If you are part of this RP, I'd like you to post a stat sheet of your character on this thread. These are the stats they start the RP with. I'll give you an example with my character, Master Meow.

Name: Master Meow
Animal: Cat
Level: 66
(I'd like you to use your stats to calculate your character's level.)
Aura: Neutral

HP: 90 (29 levels)
EP: 70 (13 levels)
POW: 8 (15 levels)
DEF: 0
SPD: 30 (9 levels)

Those stats a little high? Well, my character is supposed to be a martial arts master who's trained for years and teaches a wide variety of students. So starting a character like this at level 66 is rather justified.

Please be reasonable with your characters' stats. There's nothing wrong with them being strong or weak, as long as it makes sense.

If you want the Base Stats for your animal so you can make their stat sheet, please let me know. I'll give you some Base Stats to use.
