nepsah
Picking out the mud from his claws, Luxton was grumbling to himself. It had rained earlier that day and he had unfortunately gotten stuck in it. He had managed to escape getting the majority of himself wet by hiding inside a dead tree, but in turn his claws had gotten caked with mud when he was gripping onto the floor during the thunder rolling overhead. Thankfully, it had been a quick storm and he was able to make it out of his hiding spot relatively quickly. Now, the sky had cleared up and the sun was beginning to poke its head out from behind the storm clouds. He had made it back to the Academy and knew his walk back to his dwelling place by heart. As Luxton was absentmindedly walking, he failed to notice that his path was slowly veering off to the left. He had been too busy picking out the mud still caking his claws and didn’t notice he walked smack dab into a window. Hitting the glass with a frightening thud, Luxton yelped in surprise as he fell to the ground.
Luxton recognized this building instantly. He passed it every day walking back from the woods. What he didn’t believe was the fact that he had been so careless to hit it. What if he had broken the glass? He would have surely gotten into trouble for that. He was already on his caregiver’s last straw with how often he had been going to school late (waking up was just very difficult) a broken window wouldn’t have made the situation any better.
Getting back up onto his feet, Luxton straightened himself out in his reflection in the window. It was only after he had finished making sure his hair was pushed out of his face did his eyes adjust and focused in on what was on the other side of the glass.
