Daruis Kyven

Daruis entered the inn with a smile on his face looking at Fae, glad she didn't know of the infamous village of cannibal dark elves that gave many dark elves a bad name. He looked around the in and nodded his head rather impressed, for a rather small village the inn looked really nice. "Well, this place looks really nice. A room here wouldn't be too bad..." he said, though still hoping property around here was affordable enough that he could get his own place. But he was rather tired,hungry and thirsty. House hunting could wait.

"Hey, while we are here want a bite to eat, maybe a drink?" he could use a rather stiff drink after the past few weeks he had. He was hoping she'd say yes seeing as he hadn't had a proper meal in quite a while as well.

ooc: Since we have almost no one for inn work we can use most of them to be NPC's

Daruis never liked drinking alone, but he really felt like he wanted one, well...no he needed one. The inns dining room was nearly empty, only a few people sitting in chairs and booths. He looked around and noticed the man at the front and then smiled at Fae. "Well a drink doesn't have to be alcohol...I'm sure they have milk or juice or something of the sort." he didn't know too much about faries but he assumed they would like fruit juice, who didn't like fruit juice. "And don't worry it's all on me.I Kind of owe you for the whole healing thing." he said with a smile, not taking it for granted that he could walk without pain. He walked up to the bartender and smiled and motioned for Fae to follow him "Good afternoon good sir, I'd like a stiff drink. I don't know what you have but something strong, and for the lovely lady here...Have fresh milk? Maybe some kind of fruit juice?"

Daruis let out a laugh and took the drink. "Haven't had a look at myself just yet, but I assume it's not a pretty sight." All of his clothes did have small burn marks on them as well as being filthy, his normally silver hair looked almost black with the dirt grime and soot. He gave a sideways glance at Fae and blushed slightly remembering the first glance he had of her. Not wanting to embarrass her by saying he caught her bathing he said "Well, I managed to get myself lost in the woods around here. Was lost for several weeks actually...Which reminds me who I do I pester to get some food around here." he said looking around for a waitress or something.

"Ah well anyways, lost for several weeks, eating berries and mushrooms and such, and I came across this wonderful lovely lady near the waterfall, she was uh just watching some clothes, and she helped me come to town. Told me about this wonderful establishment and now here I am." He picked up the mug of ale and took a deep drink from it. He let out a relaxed sigh and finally sat down in the seat and slumping down slightly. "And yup..here I am.." he said with weariness in his voice, now that he was actually in a safe environment the reality of what happened setting in and making him feel exhausted.

Daruis scoffed and took another deep drink, draining more than half the glass. He looked down at it nervously not wanting to get too drunk, he just wanted to get tipsy enough to forget but not drunk enough to talk about it. "Pft of course the cook is gone. What kind of cook is gone." well she might have some kind of life, maybe it wasn't her shift or it was her day off. He let out a small bark of a laugh. "Is any place really safe from this war? " He thought his town was safe from the war until it was completely destroyed and as far as he knew everyone killed. "Effects of the war still reach here clearly..." he said slightly bitterly and frowned at the man. "I mean you haven't said a word to my friend here, haven't even really looked at her, is it because she's human? You know not all humans are even for the war." he said taking another sip of his ale.

Daruis turned to Fae and shook his head. "No no, it's not okay. It's never okay to treat someone different just because of how they look. Especially by a bartender." in Darui's experience bartenders were always friendly and it was pretty much a job requirement, to every species. He turned back to the bartender and raised his eye brows in mock surprise. "Oh? You've met every human? And every human ever are conceited and think they are better than everyone else? Oh, or was that just how you were when you were a human?" He asked in a cold tone.

Even in the wake of the war, Daruis had known many humans in his village, and was raised to follow the Lord of Light who said all were created equal.He wans't sure if it was the human armies or the high elf armies that attacked his village, but he knew not every high elf or human was in agreement with the war.He let out a harsh bark of a laugh and rolled his eyes. "Clearly someone is lacking in human history, you know one thing humans really enjoy, is drinking. They may not have been the first to invent alcohol but they were the first to refine it, they pretty much made wine and ale. You'd be out of the job or serving fermented goats milk if it wasn't for humans. If anything you should be thanking my young lady friend for your job!" he said harshly scowling at the man.

Darius was taken aback when Fae stood up. As he listened to what she said, he began to feel ashamed of himself, the humans in the war had not been kind to most species. Fairys included, he had heard rumors about them being kidnapped and their wings ripped off and being used as healing slaves. He wasn't sure if they were true but hearing Fae talk it dawned on him that they might be true, and that she might have known someone to be taken that way. He wanted to argue that not all humans were the same, that some of his best friends from home were humans and were nothing like what she was describing. That the priest in charge of his church, the one who had given him a job when he had nothing had not been like that. But seeing the tears in her eyes he knew it was not the time.

He finished his ale and stayed still and silent for a few moments. He stood up and turned to fae chewing on the inside of his lip, feeling ashamed for getting in a heated argument not thinking of who could have been personally affected by the war. He was lucky enough to not know which side had attacked his village, hell for all he knew it could of been just rouge bandits. There were a lot of those since the war, so he had taken no sides and hated no sides seeing people individually. He gently put his hands on Faes shoulders, not sure if he was crossing any boundaries or not seeing as he just met her today, but seeing as she was nearly crying it just seemed the most natural thing to do, he pulled her into a gentle hug. "I'm sorry..I'm just..am tired and started going and wasn't thinking just...I'm sorry." he said quietly.

Daruis rubbed the girls back and hugged her a bit tighter. He felt even more guilty at her sobs and the new things she said confirming his suspicion that she had lost someone close to her...It sounded like it was more than one person. Hell maybe even her whole family. "I know...I know I'm sorry..I'm really sorry." he mumbled feeling awful for his outburst. He looked over at the bartender and gave a small nod. "Thank you." reaching out and taking the key. Daruis felt himself conflicted with the man,with his kind gesture he clearly wasn't a bad person and Daruis felt bad for judging the man so quickly.

He noticed several of the other people in the inn were still staring at them, everyone loved some drama, but no one liked being stared at while they cried, no one liked crying in public for that exact reason. "Hey...want me to walk you to your room? I can try to find some food for you too if you're hungry or...or I don't know." Although he worked for the church before, his job involved corpses not comforting troubled people.
