Thel started his daily duties of putting out the fresh bakes goods, hoping the smell would bring people in to converse with him some, although most people didn't exactly like him. Either they thought he was a human since he kept his hair down most of the time, or they looked at him in pity since he was a half-elf when his hair was up. It made making friends fairly difficult, although he was glad the owner let him work here even if he didn't get paid much. It was enough to live though since he got some of the old goods every now and then if they hadn't sold enough.

Thel had his hair down again today, covering his pointed ears, although he couldn't cover the brand on his cheek that marked him a hybrid to all elves who would see him. he pushed his bangs out of his face and sat down behind the counter, watching the door for anyone who might walk in.

Thel smiled at Matoko as he entered, his first customer of the day so far, or at least he hoped so."Well it depends on what you're looking for really," he said, before noting that they had looked towards the counter. He let out a small laugh. "Although you look like you already know what you want," he added, before listing off some of the flavors of the candy jars.

"Personally, I really like the honey sticks, but that's just me. They're not too sweet though," Thel said, looking over the other colors. "You can try something if you want, I doubt it would be bad," he added, smiling, pushing his bangs away from his face.

Thel shrugged before wondering if the shop owner would get onto him for saying such a thing. He searched for the correct words to say to Matoko. "Well, I mean, we let everyone try what we have in the jars up here on the counter, but I'm not so sure about everything else on the shelves...I would think not," Thel said, messing with his hair some and slightly nervous not knowing completely. "But yeah, anything up here in the jars you're welcome to try one of," he added with a smile.

Thel watched in slight surprise as the fox boy went through each jar, quickly eating one of each before looking up at him. "Sorry, I don't really want to get in trouble," he said, looking a little guilty before smiling at Matoko. "But I'll tell you what, you can choose one thing in here and I'll buy it for you though," he added.

Thel noticed by how Matoko went through the samples that he probably hadn't eaten much of anything for a little while and it make him slightly sad. Doing a good deed for someone always made Thel happy and possibly make a friend. It was all he hoped for really since most people only thought of him like every other human or high elf.

Thel nodded to Matoko, smiling again. "Well personally," he said, getting up from the counter and walking over a pile of bread, picking one up. "These are my favorite. They're specially made and we only have a few of them every day. It's a bread we make with honey and sugar cane to give it some sweetness. It's also kind of cinnamon-y," Thel said, walking back over to the counter and giving it to Matoko, putting a piece of silver from his pocket into the register. "It's really good with butter," he added before his cheeks went red some from ebarrassment at the mention of his ears. "Thanks," Thel's voice was a little soft as he moved his hair some.

Thel expected Makoto to leave and go back home after he got the bread but was surprised to see the fox eat it all first in front of him. He let out a small laugh, knowing he was going to have to clean up the crumbs later.It was rare that he had someone stay in the shop for so long.

"I'm Talathel," he said with a smile. 'But you can always call me Thel," he added. Thel didn't understand how someone like Makoto lived in the church and still seemed so hungry. I thought they would eat fairly well Thel thought to himself. "I don't really go to the church a lot. Never much of anything for me to do over that ways," Thel said with a shrug.

Thel let out a small groan, not really taking a liking to "Tally". It sounded like a girl's name honestly and he was quite fond of Thel already, even Tala was okay at times. "Well, I mean jobs are always nice. You never have to worry about money and you'd be able to find another place to stay if you don't really like the church that much," Thel said before he let out a small nervous laugh from the mention of free snacks and the wink. "Well I can't let you all the time, it's just an every now and then think. I'd get yelled at or disciplined if I let you everyday..." Thel said, knowing that if the owner found out Thel had been letting someone come by every day to freely eat some things then he might not be able to work here anymore. He certainly ouldn't afford to keep Makoto fed either and didn't want the respnsibility of taking care of someone else really.
