 Fickle Fate trotted about the town square. His golden eyes wide as he was on the lookout for fun as usual. He didn't really have friends that he could hang out with either so he usually spent his time playing dice games with himself or seeking out just about anything that could hold his attention for a little while. Somepony dropped something that crashed loudly as it smashed against the ground. He twisted his head around to look but didn't stop walking forward. Before he had a chance to ascertain if the event was worthy of his attention he ran right into somepony else with enough momentum to cause him to tumble and fall to the ground in surprise.

Lunar had arrived in town with a bag of bits in her mouth to do a little bit of shopping even though she didn't have a lot of bits it was enough for something sweet to eat as a treat and to get the book she she had been saving up for for what seemed like an eternity but whilst she was a few months late on getting it the store worker said the boss would be happy to hold it for her as long as it took to get the bits together which was kind of her. Lunar was thinking about what to do next when she rounded a corner, heading towards the bookshop when she bumped into someone, sending her and the bits flying in the other direction, spilling them everywhere "I am so sorry!" She said as she was getting up, ignoring the bits as the others well being was more important and noticed it was another foal "are you alright!?" she asked, running up to the male, hoping she hadn't hurt him.

Fickle blinked as he sat there on his rump looking at the bits that glittered as they scattered about. With a small awkward smile, his gaze settled on the filly that he had run into. As she rushed over to him he stood up and laughed lightly offering a bright smile. "A little bump's nothing," he replied confidently. "Sides it was my bad." his voice a bit sheepishly. "Can I help you pick those up?" he eyed the bits that lay in the dirt.

"I think it was my fault at least partially, I was wondering where to go first but anyway, enough of that, are you sure you are alright?" She asked, just wanting to make extra sure he was "and thank you but it is fine" she said as she got up after making sure he would be alright and went and quickly picked up her bits, counting them as she went, making sure that they were all there as she placed them in the bag and sighed a sigh of relief that they were. "Anyway, I am Lunar" she said as her stomach growled loudly, knowing now it was food first then the book "and apparently I am hungry" she said a little sheepishly "I am just going to get so..." she stopped, she was about to offer him a chance to join her for something to eat but she didn't really calculate another joining her for something to eat with her when she was saving so she didn't have enough bits. Lunar softly sighed and shook her head to clear it "I am going to get something to eat, would you like to join me? It is the least I can do in way of an apology and the company would be nice" She asked as she now felt a little sad she wouldn't be able to pick up her book today when she promised the store owner that today would be the day and she did hate breaking promises but there was always another couple of weeks or so when she could save up the rest of the bits again, she was certain the store wouldn't mind holding it for her a little longer if she explained the situation to them.

"Really, I'm fine. It's not like I fell fo a cliff." He said with a light laugh as she didn't seem convinced he was unhurt. He wasn't really used to others being overly concerned about him as he was more a rough and tumble loner. It was a nice change of pace he supposed as he moved up behind her as she carefully counted the bits as she picked them up. "Fickle" he introduced, stifling his laugh at the look of embarrassment on her face. He titled his head slightly when she paused. He could sense her hesitation and though he didn't know why for sure, it was probably safe to assume it was the bits. He stepped up beside her. "Sounds good to me." He stated. "Though, it was my fault and what kind of pony would I be to make a girl pay for me." He said playfully with a grin.

"Pleasure to meet you and I am sorry for being overly concerned it is just how I was raised" she said as she smiled at the other as she placed the bits around her neck which is where they should have been in the first place "and great but seriously, I really don't mind, my treat, you can pay for me next time" she said as she looked around, wondering which place would be best for them to go to as Ponyville had several nice places to eat but each one had something she loves to eat and she wasn't sure exactly what she would like so she looked at her new companion "anywhere in particular you would like to go?"

"Nope!" Fickle declared with that playful grin. He shifted to stand in front of her looking into her blue eyes. He looked thoughtful for a moment. "Though, if you really wanna buy me some hay fries you'll have to beat me in a game." He proposed with a glimmer in his big golden eyes as he dropped a pair of red dice on the ground.

Lunar pulled her head back a bit so she wasn't rigbt up in the others face and blinked but smiled "sure, why not? Isn't like I seem to have a choice any more and I do like games" she said, wondering what game he had in mind when she saw two dice drop which just made her look at the dice curiously for a few moments before looking up at him "what game?" She asked as she looked at dice again wondering if they were loaded as she never trusted a persons own personal dice since he uncle tricked her with his.

Fickle beamed, excited that she would actually play the game. Many had told him it was stupid or a waste of time. But he just loved a good game of chance, no matter what it decided. "Just a game of odd or even." He replied. He knew many other games but this one was simple and quick. He gestured a hoof at the pair of dice. "Just pick odd or even and roll the dice. If it is what you have chosen you to win, otherwise I win." He elaborated in case it wasn't already obvious how one would play. He spoke brightly, he seemed more excited that they were going to play the two-second dice game than what the results would be. Nafretiti OOC: you can roll 2 6-sided dice to decide what is rolled. Or i can roll in the next post if she lets/wants fickle to roll.

"Sounds simple enough" she said as she picked up the dice and started to shake them as she thought for a few moments on what to pick before deciding on odds "I will go with odds" she said as she rolled the dice.

"Even's for me then." He confirmed as she shook the dice. His eyes locked onto the dice as they fell and tumbled on the dirt below with anticipation. The dice seemed to roll in slow motion as the first landed on a 5 and the other spun for a moment before tipping over to reveal a 4. Looking up he smiled and laughed lightly. "Nine, that's odd. Your win." He picked up the dice and tucked them away before stepping to the side. He extended one hoof and bowed his head slightly. "Lead the way, Luna. I will allow you to treat me." It would not be said he was a pony of his word.

Lunar took his hoof and smiled at him "I know the perfect place to go for one of the nicest bowls of hay fries ypu can get" she said as she as she lead him over to the place just down a little from Sugar Cube Corner, apparently Pinkie Pie and the owner of the cafe they were going to have a friendly rivalry going on about something from the rumor she had heard and it seemed to be right. When they got there the place was covered in streamers, balloons, confetti and...was that Gummy hanging on the right side corner of the roof? Lunar looked at Fickle and smiled at him "will you wait for me for a moment? I just need to return a baby reptile to his owner" she said as ahe walked over to Gummy, jumped up and placed her front hooves onto the side of the shop as she steadied herself on her back hooves "come on Gummy, drop down and I will take you home" she said as he dropped down onto her head and she ran back to Sugar Cube Corner amd droppes him off and them ran back before Pinkie could stuff a few dozen cupcakes down jer throat in payment. "Sorry about that, shall we go in?" She asked, as she started walking towards the door "you can pick where we sit, you can order whatever you want" she said, wondering is she should just order her usual or go with sonething else.

Fickle followed beside her to the cafe and he laughed at the state that the shop sat in. "Looks like a party tornado came through" He commented brightly, sure the resident party fanatic was said tornado. He offered her a nod and watched her fetch the small reptile. It didn't take long for her to return and he offered her a cheery wave as she returns. "Sure thing." He said as they went inside. He picked a random table and took a seat. "I'd just like some hay fries." He said not even bothering to look at the menu, he knew what he wanted. "What're you gonna get?"

"That's Pinkie for you, never a dull day in this town with Pinkie around that's for sure" she said as she walked in and over to the table he picked and nodded "sure, be right back and with a small surprise for you" she said as she walked over to the counter and looked in the display cabinets whilst she waited and saw just what she was looking for "hi" she said as she got up to the counter. "Could I please order a plate of hey fries, two large chocolate milkshakes, make one a thickshake please, a plate of your apple fritters, a vegie burger, a large plate of your hay wedges with everything on them minus the salsa and extra sour cream and in the cabinet I will take the last two chocolate muffins and two banana splits but could you please just let us create them ourselves? Just place the bananas in the diahes first please. The assistant smiled at her and nodded "sure, and since you are a V.I.P I will give you a 20% discount on your order, usually it is 10 off orders over 10 dollars at least but I am the owners daughter so I will clear it up with my parents" she said as she told her the amount "that will be 33 bits please". Lunar took the bag off and opened it up and counted out the bits and pushed them over to her which left her with half the book amount left which she just did up and put it around her neck, back to doing chores again tomorrow, oh well "thank you" she said as she turned and pointed to the table where she and Fickle were sitting "I am sitting over there" she said as the assistant nodded "sure, bring you your order over shortly" she said as Lunar turned and walked back to the table and sat down "I hope you like creating your own banana split" she said grinning at him, knowing this coukd be messy but so much fun as well.

Fickle blinked and sat there while he watched Lunar get up and speak with the pony at the counter for a bit. He opened his mouth to speak when she came back to the table but she spoke first. He blinked and smiled at her. He liked sweets like any other pony his age would be expected to. Though he wondered briefly what his uncle would say. It was worth the risk. After all, she seemed so happy and a banana split sounded like delicious fun. He had been silent for an almost awkward moment while he thought. Then he beamed. "That sounds great!" he replied. He stopped himself before adding that she didn't have to do it though. The sparkle in her eye was enough to quell any further arguments. This was a different kind of fun than he had been expecting today.
