Zhàn had been asking his mother a lot of questions of late. Why she seemed more tired lately. Why there had been so many people at her work calling out. Why she seemed to be going out at night more often. He wasn't stupid, and even though he didn't live at home anymore, he talked to his baby sister almost every night and there were times he was getting Mìmì home from her latest stupid club stunt the same time his mother was slipping back into the apartment. And he knew Zhen noticed it, too.

So of course he was suspicious when he got a text from her saying she'd meet them at the park near the apartment, where everything would be explained. Whatever his mother was into, he was...on edge and worried. She was a good person, and he loved her, but what the hell? Since when did she get in as late as his wayward baby sister?

Captain Womite sometimes cursed her lack of ambition in the Negaverse. It kept her and her family safe, but now that two of her children were asking questions...well. She couldn't bring them into the fold herself. She just couldn't. Not without risking them becoming something less. So she'd gone to the nearest general she found, not caring the woman was younger than her, and asked for her aid. Her children were going to join them, and learn what powers truly ran the world.

So the younger two of her biological children contacted, she waited in the appointed spot with Cavansite, glad for the relative seclusion. [The first moment hurt, she remembered, and she wasn't risking people poking their noses where they didn't belong.]

Zhen was not normally one to poke her nose into others' business - well, alright, that was a lie. If she felt their business had any relevance to her, to her family, or might be something she could use, she would. Still, it hadn't seemed... polite to question her mother of all people. She may have been busy with her own life... or, rather, her own life and trying not to lose her temper and step in on her little sister's... but she could tell when something strange was going on.

She wasn't as inquisitive about it all as she knew Zhàn was, but she still had her questions, and so it was with some relief that she received the text from her mother - the same one, she was sure, that was sent to Zhàn. And yet, though it was a relief to be promised an explanation at last, that they were being summoned to a park, instead of simply home... it was - was -

'Strange' didn't even begin to cover it, but it was probably the closest word that she could come up with to use. She neared the park earlier than they had been asked to arrive, but only just - it wouldn't do to appear impatient, or too curious or concerned. Whatever was going on, Zhen trusted her mother - whatever she was caught up in, it couldn't be anything like what Mìmì got up to.

It wasn't nothing, no, but it couldn't be anything too terrible.

Cavansite honestly hadn’t know what to think about the favor being asked of her. Though of course she was…mostly happy to bring in the new recruits…it wasn’t something that she heard very often, and honestly…she was just a little concerned at a mother doing this to her children.

…Not that there wasn’t a time when she would have done the same…but still…it was a difficult pill to swallow, that was for sure. She teleported into the meeting spot a few minutes late, not quite feeling as though she wanted to just be waiting around for this corruption, and honestly still not quite sure that she wanted to even be doing this.

It felt wrong, and that pissed her off. How dare she grow some sort of…moral code. She had to stop thinking like this or it would end up getting her into serious trouble…and that was something that nobody needed.

She looked at the three people standing in the area and leaned lazily against a tree. Well. At least these ‘children’ weren’t young…that much was at least a little comforting.

Cavansite’s eyes lit on the older woman and she gave a curt nod. “Are these them? The ones you asked me to bring in?”

She would do it quickly. Before either of them had time to fear…and before she had time to really think about it.

The young man who looked like he walked out of a K-Pop video raised his brow at the two woman who stood not far from he and Zhen. He frowned and crossed his arms. "Bring in? Are you two the ones causing my family trouble?" Because there had to be trouble if his mother was acting strange.

The older of the two women sighed and shook her head. "I am your mother, Zhàn. Like this, however, I am known as Captain Womite. You wanted answers, both of you." She looked to Zhen as well, small smile on her lips before she nodded to Cavansite. "Yes, these are the two I asked you to bring in." She looked back to her children. "I work for an entity that opposes the 'terrorists' the news tells you about, the ones you've always wondered what the truth behind them is. The truth is complicated, but not beyond your reach. If you want to pursue it, there will be pain and late nights and more exhaustion than you are familiar with. Even having experienced college. And you'll be pledging yourselves to a force greater than yourselves. If you accept this, my colleague is here to help."

Zhàn eyed his mother cautiously [uncertain why he hadn't recognized her before, but now he did]. He was leery....but he was very much for digging into the heart of things, finding the truth in a sea of bullshit. And his mother knew that, and he knew she was too good of a journalist to steer him wrong. "Alright. Though why you need her help, I have no idea." He looked to Zhen, shrugging. He wouldn't be surprised if his ambitious sister was in as well.
