The tavern, a second home to many villagers, holds many tables and chairs. The bar is where you would go to order your drinks or food. If looking for a room, talk to the Inn Keeper, who is tucked away in a corner by the stairs.

Dianna entered the tavern, two bags in hand. One was obviously a traveling case and the other was a bit smaller but much wider. She breathed a sigh of relief as the first sounds of rain could be heard as the door shut behind her. She slowly made her way to a table along the wall, all but falling into the chair. A few people turned to look at her as she stretched out into the chair, her legs far apart and head hung over the back of the chair. Her eyes traced the grooves in the ceiling for a bit before a bar-hand sauntered her way. The woman held a rag in her hands.

"Well, you seem to have made it in just the nick of time. I'm Dolores, can I get you anything?"

Dianna pursed her lips. "Just a bit of ale will do me good."

Dolores offered a smile before turning to fill the order. Dianna straightened herself in her chair before placing her bags in the chair next to her for ease of access. First, she opened her traveling bag and pulled out a small journal and pen. She began to record her arrival when A mug of ale was placed before her. She reached into her coin purse and dropped a few into the woman's hand.

"Could I also get a bit of bread?"

"Sure thing," Dolores replied, only taking a couple seconds to retrieve a small loaf. "Holler if you need anything." And just like that, she left to tend to other customers.

Dianna leaned back and looked out a nearby window at the raindrops against the night sky. Her mind began to drift a bit as she took a sip, the warmth bathing her throat and stomach. Hopefully, this new land will be a good experience. This tavern was certainly an excellent start. There was nothing like a little, happy, warm inn to introduce you to a new town.

Lola, who just finished up her maid duties within the Inn, slowly came down the stairs. She stopped at the bottom, looking around at all of the townspeople, some regulars, some new. She thanked Sadria for encouraging her to take this job, as it allowed her to see that not everyone was as harmful as her masters were. Lola's cat ear twitched a bit as she spotted one of the bar-hands. She smiled as she pulled her tail into her hands, a nervous habit she had. Her purple eyes rested on the bread that was given to one of the newcomers.

Slowly, Lola walked over to the bar, her tail still in her hand. She hoped to order a mug of milk before returning to the castle. She knew Sadria would not mind if she was late coming in, as long as she still performed her duties at the castle. She was free to roam where ever she wanted to, which was a nice change for her, considering her upbringing. She shook the thought from her head, and slowly began gripping her tail tighter, as it seemed that no one noticed that she wanted to place an order.

She turned and spotted the bar-hand, Dolores, nearby. She smiled and walked to her. She tapped her on the arm gently, "Hello, Dolores. May I please order a mug of milk before I return to Sadria?"Dolores looked at Lola and smiled, "Of course, dear. Have you finished with the rooms upstairs?"

Lola nodded her head slowly, "I have. It is such a shame that not more people are using them. You still only have the few that have taken up permanent residence." Dolores nodded, then made her way to the bar. She filled a mug with milk for Lola, placing it on the bar. "There you go, Lola. I hope you enjoy the rest of your night." With that, Dolores hurried to help other customers. Lola sighed, dropping her tail and picking up the mug. She stood there a moment, savoring every sip of her milk.

As Lola emerged from the stairs, Dianna watched her curiously. It was a neko! She hadn't seen one in decades, the last being a traveling companion she had had while staying in Germany. Her eyebrows raised slightly as her eyes trained on the tail that followed the girl. Almost as soon as she had placed the long black appendage in her hands, Dianna began bouncing her knee silently, the anxiety practically rolling of the cat-like person. She watched as Lola simply stood, savoring her drink.

Di's curiosity grew with her urge to make new friends. So, after a small mental debate, she resolved to make conversation. She stood, placing both her bags on the seat, making sure they were within eyesight before walking over to Lola.

"Hello there, I'm Dianna" She spoke softly, as to not agitate the neko any further. "Mind if I sit near you?" she inquired.

Dianna began to sit, but not fully just in case the girl was not up for conversation. So, Di settled for leaning against the stool, an arm draped over the tabletop for balance, remaining a foot or so away from Lola to give her space

A bit startled, Lola looked at Dianna. She was entranced in her savory milk and wasn't paying attention to the world around her. She often got like that with the simple joys she has come to know since moving here. A small smile spread across Lola's face, her purple eyes looking Dianna over gently.

"Oh, hello there. I am Lola. I do not mind it at all, however, I am unsure of how much longer I will be able to be out. I have duties I must attend to at the castle."

Lola took another sip of her milk, thinking about Sadria and the duties she must accomplish at the castle. She was quite content performing maid duties, especially when it didn't end the way her former masters made them end. A shiver ran down her spine then she shook the thoughts away. She glanced at Dianna again, realizing that she was new in town.

"Oh, I am sorry. You are new here, you must not know much about the Valley yet. I would be glad to answer any questions you have, as much as I can. I have only been here a few months, myself, but I have gotten to learn who are regulars."

"Oh, I'll do my best to not take long then."

Dianna smiled and was happy to see that she hadn't startled her and found how she was so entranced quite cute. Her outfit helped create a doll-like image which was refreshing for Di since all she had seen in the past year or so were dull colors and gruff, hardy people.

"What do you think of this place? Is it a good place to be?" She inquired, wanting to know more about what the town she'd be residing in; for at least a little while.

She had been traveling so much that in hindsight, everything begins to blur together. She'd have to think long and hard to recall precise details about her experiences. Which is why she kept many pictures and took to writing in a journal.

Lola's eyes lit up a bit at Dianna's questions. A smile crept across her face, thinking about the valley and everyone in it.

"Oh, I enjoy it. Everyone has been so kind to me, especially Sadria. Without her, I probably would have never found this place. She has made it like a refuge for those seeking one."

After thinking for a moment, she looked over to Delores, who was busy attending to the other customers. Even here in the tavern was lovely. Everyone really was very nice to her. She wasn't sure if it was because they knew of her past or not.

Dianna smiled as well. "I am really happy to hear that." She said.

She paused, thinking for a moment on what to ask next. She watched the tavern as Lola did before asking her next question, "Are there any rules or laws I should be aware of?"

Di hadn't fed in some time and would need to hunt soon, but she did not want to cause any trouble, especially so soon. Once again, her eyes found their way back to the ears atop Lola's head, her gaze curious and amused.

Lola's gaze returned to Dianna, taking in her next question.

"Well, honestly, as long as you don't harm anyone, you are pretty much free to do as you please. Although, it is quite frowned upon if you attempt to steal anything. It may not be physically harmful, but it is emotionally and financially harmful to the one you steal from. If there is anything in particular that you need, one of the shops will have it, or even Sadria herself."

Lola's ear twitched slightly as she finished off her milk. She replaced the mug onto the counter for Dolores to pick up later. She knew the tavern could get quite busy, especially when townsfolk were getting together in combination to the newcomers seeking shelter or a drink. Quietly, she stood up, a smile across her face.

"Unfortunately, I will have to return to the castle. You are more than welcomed to accompany me. I am sure Sadria will not mind the company, and she enjoys helping those who are new. She has been receiving a lot of work lately, but she may need a break from it all."

Lola spoke, not aware that Sadria was already taking a break from work. She was used to Sadria constantly being up and working. Lola usually only went to Sadria when Sadria needed something that she didn't have in her quarters or when Lola was letting her know that her work was done.

Dianna's eyes lit up. "Could I really? It's been so long since I've been inside a real castle!" She stood ready to grab her things. The last time she had seen such an extravagant castle she had been in Romania, and even that did not compare to the compelling silhouette of Sadria Moore's home on the horizon.

"Are you sure it wouldn't be a bother to you? I don't want to keep you from your personal time. Especially since you seem to be getting close to finishing your work..." She asked. Di was worried she may be preventing Lola from getting her work done, or even relaxing if she had already finished. She swiftly grabbed her bags, being especially careful with one of them, considering it housed her little friend. "Does Ms. Moore have any rules against pets in her home?" She asked.

Lola smiled sweetly as she watched Dianna's eyes light up. She stood up, as well, and waited for Di to get her things ready.

"It will be no problem at all. I only have to make sure the main areas remain dust free, even though they rarely get used. It may seem like a lot to do, but compared to the entire castle, it isn't much. It's easier when done weekly, or even daily. As for pets, Sadria does not mind. She even has a pet of her own, although I have only seen her once."

Lola looked towards the door, ready to travel back to the castle. She knew Sadria wouldn't mind. In fact, Sadria had encouraged her to make friends. She figured that Sadria got lonely being in the castle by her lonesome, and would enjoy company.

"Okay, I'm all set."
Dianna came back to Lola's side, bags in hand. It was only her first evening in town and she had already made a friend. Even more, she had gained the opportunity to enter into the prominent feature of the island. At least for her anyway, she already knew from stories and whispers that humans were not a fan.

"Is it a far walk from town?" She asked, adjusting the bags in her hands. Di wore a big smile, appreciating how relaxed Lola had become to her presence.

Lola looked back at Di, smiling sweetly still. She started heading towards the door, making sure to keep pace with Di.

"Oh, it's not a very far walk. Sadria wanted the town to stay close enough to the castle so that if anyone needed anything, they would not have to go far. It also makes it easier for Sadria to keep an eye on things from her balcony."

Walking out of the Tavern, Lola looked up to the castle, specifically to Sadria's balcony. It was currently empty, but she figured it was because of all the work Sadria had to do. Lola smiled, looking back at Di then pointing to the balcony.

"That large balcony right there is Sadria's balcony. That is where she loves to look down on the town, to make sure things are running smoothly. She also uses it when someone puts in a request for a new building or home, so that she can make sure that it would not interfere with any other business. She has the whole town mapped out, in her head, and on a map she has drawn."

Lola began down the winding path towards the castle, making sure that Di was right there beside her. She was used to walking this path alone, on her trips to and from the town. It was nice to have someone accompany her.

"I am sorry if I am talking too much about Sadria. If it were not for her, I don;t know if I would have ever known kindness. "

Diana quickly followed behind her, matching her smile. She closed the door behind her before following Lola's gaze up to the castle. Her eyes widened,

"She is very much like a queen, the way she lives and acts as a guardian over the town. It almost seems like the townspeople feel the same way."

Her eyes trailed the scenery around them, memorizing their path to the destination. She had to get her bearings if she was to reside here, and this was a good place to start. Lola's apology gave her pause.

"You don't need to apologize for something like that, she is obviously very important to you. And, if I'm honest, I really enjoy listening to you talk about it because of how happy and calm it makes you."

Lola's mention of possibly never knowing kindness piqued her curiosity and she was about to inquire further, but she knew it would be inappropriate to ask, especially since they had only known each other for so little time. Di continued to pace with her, matching her steps.
