Earlier tonight I stumbled across a thread in the GD about what people loved as a kid. I live for things I grew up with. Heck, I couldn't get rid of any of my favoured toys. Thus I have countless tote buckets (those really big rubbermaid containers) full of toys. 2 of My Little Pony, 4 (or maybe more?) of Barbies, and my action figures could fill another. For action figures I have Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, She-Ra Princess of Power, He-Man and the Masters of the Universe and Princess Guenevere and the Jewel Riders.

I remember the big crazes in toys too. Like Pogs. Wow... I had a LOT of those. Also had a Tamagotchi. Littlest Petshop? Yah, had a couple though my younger sister had a tonne more. And for Cabbage Patch Kids I had 3, one of which had hair you could lengthen or shorten.

Probably my favourite show from back then was She-Ra Princess of Power. I loved her so much. heart She was totally cooler than He-Man, after all.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was another big one for me. I still have all my old merchandise. A lot of it's Donatello though since he was my absolute favourite. whee Some day I'll round up all my things and take a picture for everyone to see.

And finally there was DOS. Yes, I can remember running a computer solely off of DOS programming. I remember when CD-Rom drives first came out. We had a 2x one and that was pretty darn state of the art. But let me say, those were terrible to play a game on. xp Things loaded soooooo slow. Regardless, some of my favourite games came out of that era. Epic Pinball has to be my favourite game of all time. I had the top score in nearly every game. I even got to like the 5th level of Enigma. <3 But Cyber Girl was my alltime favourite. I had insane high scores in that one. Jill of the Jungle was another favourite. And then there was cute little Hocus Pocus. I hated the last level of the second game, it was so hard. D: Evil trees~

I should stop spouting gibberish now and let you all return the favour. =D

Some questions for sparking discussion. (aka 'spoon feeding')
What do you remember from your childhood that you miss dearly now?
What were some of your favourite toys/shows as a kid?

redface I loved with all my heart 'Biker Mice from Mars' when it was on. I used to get up at 6am every morning to make sure i didn't miss it and i wasn't on until 8am!
I have a video of it upstairs that i brought at a carboot sale.
Who am i kidding? I'm still a lurker on the unoffical message board!!!!

But Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, i remember that too...I used to go round my neightbour's to watch it with him....He had action figures too!!
Oh there were so many 'boy' cartoons back then i loved....that was when saturday morning really mean cartoon time and not stupid presenders that act like their on speed.

Dear God now I feel old eek .... I think the first time these were shown in England was about 1989/1990...

You're only like half a year older than me, Dazzler. xd

I used to watch like everything on TV... Except for Full House. I hated the Olsen Twins even back then. Didn't follow Blossom either.

TMNT was the greatest. I used to play it with the boys in preschool. They wouldn't let me be Donatello, I always had to be April O'Neil because I was a girl. mad

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

The original. I with Kimberly and Adam and Billy. cool God I miss that show. I always wanted to be Kimberly, cause she was the pink one and I loved pink.

Where in the World is Carmen SanDiago? HAHAHA. I used to play this game with my friends out in the yard. I never actually watched the show, but the theme song was catchy as hell.

And that stupid game. "What Time is it Mr. Wolf?" where there would be one kid at one end of the gym, and the rest on the other, and they would shout "WHUT TIME IZ IT MR. WOFL?!?!?!" and The other kid would say "FOUR OCLOCK!!1!" and they would walk four spaces until the wolf went "LUNCH TIME!!1!" AND THEN WE WOULD RUN AWAY.

Ah, good times. cool

I wanted to be the Pink Ranger too. I stopped watching Power Rangers after Kimberly left. It just wasn't the same without her. Plus I hated the girl that replaced her.

Tommy/Kimberly was so.. perfect. =D

I always used to watch Carmen Sandiego too.

X-men...I love X-men. Why does the comic have to come out mouthly? I can never remeber to get it.

I use to get the Beano every week. (If you've never heard of the Beano it's an English comic that has been around for ages. I don't even remember when it was first printed but I've got a copy from 1965)

Well, it's still better than not coming out at all. It seems not enough people like X-men here. crying

I should start reading X-Men. I don't know why I haven't. >.> I am in the comic shop every week after all. Might as well start in on that instead of picking up a kajillion random manga titles every time.

Psssssh, I dressed as the Pink Ranger for Halloween when I was 8.
That was when I started to hate plastic masks...
And that outfit was REALLY tight.

I miss all the old shows from Nickelodeon like the original All That, Catdog, Animorphs (books for that series are awsome too), Are You Afraid of The Dark?, original Rugrats, the list goes on and on.
Then there are shows like Cow and Chicken, Dexter's Lab, Smurfs, and such from Cartoon Network (woohoo for Reboot and Thundercats! ....also Swatcats ninja )
And of course lets not forget the old version of the Disney Channel, Zoog Disney. The Zoogs were cool, I liked Browser the dog thing. And all the shows they played were cool, hell, they even played The Mickey Mouse Club and Zorro at night. And another show that sadly I can't remember the name of...
Something about supernatural stuff...a band...hmmmm.....

I broke down and bought some X-Men. Twas the first two graphic novels of the Astonishing X-Men series with story by Joss Whedon and art by John Cassady. Oh how beautifully done it is.

Mmm, I was the pink power ranger one year. =D Except my costume was a little more home made... see here in Saskatchewan Halloween costumes need to be designed to fit over parkas.

Speaking of old shows, Pinky and the Brain as well as Animaniacs have come out on DVD. and the She-Ra and He-Man movie Secrets of the Sword as well as the top 5 episodes of She-Ra have come out on DVD. I missed AQ20 to watch the movie. rofl
