Alright, I'm reaching the end of Tales of Legendia and I always write a review on a Game when I'm nearing completion of the game, now, let's get started. First and foremost, this is my Second Tales game. I was at the game shop and Tales of Legendia was there, it caught my attention because I've played Tales of Eternia before, I liked that game, so I decided to try it out. I bought it on the spot. Once I started to play the game I was hooked! The opening scene is incredible, introducing all the characters, but without giving too much away, then the actual game starts. I love the character design and the style they're drawn in. Now, I'm a huge fan of Roleplaying Soundtracks. This game's soundtrack is nothing short of fantastic. The songs fit the mood of the events that take place in the game well, with powerfully Orchestrated pieces. I'm listening to it now, while I'm typing this review up.
Now, gameplay is a vital role in what keeps everyone playing the game, I loved the gameplay and the simple to use eres. I loved how the gameplay was very similar to that of Tales of Eternia, it made me feel comfortable playing the game and getting into it, the learning curve is about 2~3 hours max and you get the hang of everything pretty fast. That's a plus for me.
As for the Characters voice actors, well, we all now that Roleplaying Voice Actors are pretty average, but this game had it's moments. I really think that they chose actors who's voices fit the characters personalities well. Sure, they may not win any Oscars, but hey, they get the job done so we don't have to read through text for us.
Another key ingredient in any Roleplaying Game, is a great storyline, well Tales of Legendia, has that part down. The story is very epic with characters that actually develope. I know that some of the characters seem kinda flawed at first, but they grow on you. Take Norma Beatty for instance, she seemed annoying and childish at first, but then she really shone in the later chapters. The story is top-notch with great plot twists and real excitement that keeps you playing for hours.
I also wanted to add that when I get close to the end of a Roleplaying Game, I say to myself. "At last it's done and over with" but not this time, Tales of Legendia made me say "I don't want this to end, I want the story to keep going" I usually just want to see the final cinematic at the end of a game, but in Tales of Legendia, I want to keep going because all the characters are a part of me now. I love all the main characters, yes, even Moses Sandor.
In conclusion, I love this game, through and through. I always look for faults in a game, but it was so hard to this time. Surely Tales of Legendia, get's my Highest Praise. If you haven't gotten it yet, what's taking you?! Get this game and you'll be pleasantly surprized. This is definately a keeper!

To be honest, the main storyline is very cliche. But I also like a lot of characters. 3nodding
...Except for Senel, reasons already stated. Unlike all the other characters, which develop so that their original personality is still the same, but they respect their friends more, Senel just changes completely and becomes an entirely new character. A boring, very, very boring new character.
My favorites are Norma and Moses. 3nodding Both are great original comic reliefers. And unlike most bratty girl characters, Norma manages to make fun of herself once and awhile. smile
...Ah, if only I could choose who Senel ended up with. heart
...Wouldn't of been Ms. Mary-Sue, I can tell you that. stressed

Yeah, well. The Main Story, the story is kinda cliched, but what Roleplaying game isn't filled with cliches? I still love the game dearly.

Though this isn't completely on-par with the rules I set up, I made 'em, I can bend them a little.
Would you mind if I moved this topic to the sub-forum?
I'm only asking so you don't freak out when you see it's gone, XD.
