Hey hey hey! This is the first, the last, the absolute Aqua Dragon King here bringing you the all new RP! *duh-duh-duh-duh dun dun dun duh-dun* (AKA the 9 note Final Fantasy victory chime)
First thing is first. The standard rules for the RP subforums apply. Most likely I'll copy and paste them into here later for those who have thick skulls and don't listen. stare
Second, there is absolutely no Fantasy in this RP (sorry kids. No unicorns and goblins to play with here. Which includes Barney). However, this doesn't mean that you can't write in a fantasy style (i.e The dragon soared high into the air, leaving him liberated on the ground. In other words, he is smoking weed and his worries are just sortah soaring away. Got it? Good (And don't smoke. Its bad for you kids)).
Alright. This RP should be a lot easier for people to join. Also, I still have to stress not to be discouraged by the advanced RPers or beginner RPers. We're all here to have fun and maybe even grow (at least I am. I can always write better if I tried and learned. *blesses Shakespeare, Poe, and Matsuo Basho for being such great inspirations*).
With all that said, lets step off into a world we know with heads held high and the future uncertain.
Aurevoir mes amis et bonne voyage dans la corbeille de mere!
~ J "Aqua Dragon King" V ~
EDIT: After writing the intro, I started to think. This is going to be a bit harder than I thought. Then it hit me. We have two routes we all can go on this. The first is just like a regular RP in which everybody is in the same location. Second is that we can do a multiple place RP and just type in different colors associated with the place. And the final and maybe the hardest option, we could make this into a multiple person novel series sortah thing (i.e. I would write my character's story and his life and others can write stories about their characters in their places respectively. However it would all be in one main theme of life in today's society sortah thing).

The pitter patter of the rain echoed throughout the streets of Honolulu. It was to be expected. It was tsunami season. Everything was covered in water. The clouds were always gather crying for the islands when it didn't need the world's sympathies. However at the same time of year every year, it seemed to be this way.
Sitting outside of the Tiki Cafe, a dark tanned boy sat inside as the tourists from Japan scrambled about to find umbrellas and yelling in foreign tongues that seemed to be just as endless as the rain. The black tank top and triple X board shorts he was wearing stuck to his physique, making people turn away at the sight of his sloppy dressing habits. Apparently foreigners to the islands didn't read up on how "big is beautiful" in the islands of Hawaii. Weighing nearly three hundred pounds and 6'2 at all the age of 19, he was a big kid. He could still walk distances but people always seemed to be surprised to see him unless of course if they knew him. However this didn't stop the jokes about his "largeness", even if they eventually made him numb to the pain of being different.
Waving his thick hands towards the waitor, he looked out the window as the small race of munchkins packed into the little tourist buses. His eyes watched as a beautiful girl about his age walked hand in hand with a young Japanese man. "I guess shes taken..." his soft voice heaving a sigh as he watched them cuddle together for warmth on the bus. "Oh well. I already have a date for today."
The clearly local waitor smiled to him as he placed a large bowl of saimin and a small plate with four rolls of spam musubi on the small, window side table. "I'll be back wit you coke in a while 'kay Iz?" Laughing slightly he tunred around and shoved the waitor gently. "I dun look anythin' lik' Bruddah Iz!" Walking away the waitor gave a slight wave to him and yelled out before slipping back into the small kitchen. "True dat Ke'ala. But that don't mean dat you can't dream yah?"
Picking up a fork that he had used for his previous bowl, he started to devour the large bowl of saimin, continueing to people watch in the rain.

Sighing, he walked outside. He lived in Canada, which many Americans referred to as "The Great White North". He really resented that label being put on Canada, but there was absolutely nothing he could do about the weather today. His home in St. John's, Newfoundland, had been hit by a freak snowstorm, and temperatures were setting new records for coldness.
Now he wasn't all too concerned about this; he had been preparing for a day like this. He easily found his winter jacket and a pair of gloves, as well as a black hat. He stepped outside and looked at the surrounding area. People were running around and panicking. He could hear people saying stuff like "How did this happen so quickly?" and "Why is it so damn cold?" He chuckled at their peril. It was their faults. Just because they live in an all-year-round-warm place, doesn't mean Mother Nature doesn't have an influence.
Anyway, the reason he was going outside on such a blustery day was to go to his friends house. Stupid reason, right? Wrong. He had a science project due in a week, and he and his partner hadn't done a thing. That happens when you're always training for basketball season. He was really a bit short for his age, but he was excellent in the game of basketball. He had actually been made Captain of his grade 10 team! He was happy, but this also meant a lot more time with the team.

"Mind the gap, please, mide the gap."
It was early morning in England, typically chill, typically chaotic, and tipically...typical. Just another morning full of buisnessmen rushing to work and tourists herding around all the great monuments. And nowhere was this universal hustle and bustle better exemplified than down in the London underground. A man stuck out among the throng, young and smartly dressed, who was pacing passively about the station.
"Mind the gap, please."
A group of secondary schoolers in street clothes passed by, cramming onto a tram just before the doors closed; it was summer break after all. A sugar coated voice recording came over the station PA system and announced a message which the man could have recited in his sleep.
"Caution, the doors are closing. Please clear the loading area."
It repeated this a few more times before the tram pulled out of the station and the atmosphere fell into a temporary calm. He was an employee of the Department of Public Transit, and it was his job to waltz around stations during rush hours and remind fellow commuters to "mind the gap".
"The gap" was, of course, the rather large gap between the station platform and the floor of the subway cars. Apperantly it was quite a dangerous gap, for many innocent commuters had been mysteriously tripped up by this gap. Either that, or one very assertive and angry commuter who had possessed the determination to shout the Head of Department's ears off, until he solved the problem. (Which, in fact, was mearly a misguided attempt to save himself a lifetime of hearing aids and a lost coffee break.) Whatever the reason, the man pacing about the underground station had been hired as a result these complaints, whose origins remain anonymous. Sacrificing a moment of uneventful pacing, he looked down at his watch and discovered that his shift was over in about and hour and twenty minutes. Sighing under his breath, he donned a feigned "sunny disposition" and said once more in the most pleasant voice he could muster,
"Mind the gap, plaese, mind the gap."

((Er! Er on you Buckle-chan! Er for taking England! domokun scream stressed >< Er on you!))
Sam looked up at the sky. It was the perfect blue of the sky blue crayola crayon she remembered using as a kid. There were even white fluffy clouds. It was the perfect weather to be out sailing on Lake Michigan, but was she there? Of course not. She was headed to be stuck in a dusty, hot small room to be stuffed in a 17th century gown and pretend to be some Lord's mistress. "No it's not that I mind the acting, but why does the first dress rehearsal have to be on such a wonderful day?" She asked out loud as she walked through Millennium Park on her way to the theater.
It's summer vacation. I should be home, talking to my friends, catching up on things I've missed since fall term started, but no. I had to volunteer for this stupid thing. Sam stuck her hands in her back pocket and felt her paycheck, reminder herself to go by the bank on the way to the theater. She sighed as she caught sight of a boat and the sailor doing a walkover. At least if pays well.
Sam turned down the street and walked up the stairs leading to the El. After slipping her pass through the slot, she sat down and waited for her train to arrive.

I'm kinda confused as to how this works.....is it like a bunch of random characters going about their daily lives and connecting to each other in strange and profound ways?

My story will take a while to reach the next part... I'll think about what to write. Hopefully I'll have it done by the end of the week.
