OOC (Out of Character) Rules
* Be polite, don't harass other people, follow the general Gaia TOS.
* No chatspeak, please! You wouldn't want our baby dragons to pick up bad habits, would you? wink
* You are only allowed to make purely OOC posts in threads that have [OOC] in the title!
* If OOC information is needed in a roleplaying post, put it between double brackets like this:
Example
Mordion stands with his back to Cierra, watching the lake. He shifts his weight from foot to foot in a jerky, nervous movement.
(( He's terrified of the lake, so if Cierra decides to try to push him in, he might panic and hit her. Is that ok? It wouldn't be a hard hit, more a solid shove. ))
(( OOC or "Out of Character" means that you are not currently roleplaying. ))
Roleplaying Rules
* All roleplaying should be PG13 - please keep the violence and cussing to a minimum, and absolutely no cybering!
* Read the information in the "[INF] Background: Enchanted Dragons" sticky (and the "[INF] Background: Cursed Dragons" sticky if you own a Cursed Dragon) before you post.
* Only post in public roleplaying threads, or private roleplaying threads that you've been explicitely invited to by the thread starter.
* Don't roleplay other people's dragons - don't have your dragon hurt them, kill them, or do anything else bad or irrevocable to them without the owner's consent!
* Only Cursed Dragons are allowed to be played as truly evil, but the rule before this one still applies to them as well.
Thread-making Rules
* Do not make excessive threads - look if there is a thread like the one you want to make first!
* Make sure that each thread you start is properly labeled so that other people can tell if it is a roleplaying thread, an OOC thread, an information thread etc.
[PRI] - Private roleplay: You may only participate if the thread starter has invited you!
[PUB] - Public roleplay: Everybody can participate!
[HOM] - Home: Every owner can have one thread that represents his or her home where they live with their dragon. Only post here if the owner has invited you into their home!
[JOU] - Journal: Every owner can have one thread that they can use as a journal for their dragon. Only the owner should post in here!
[OOC] - Out of Character: Chat, socialize, be silly... No roleplay is required in here!
[INF] - Information: Official information about sales, events, etc.
[QUE] - Quest: Roleplay that you can participate in to gain something; items, rare dragons, and who knows what else!
Example: You want to start a roleplay where you invite two of your friends and their dragons to a picnic in the park. If you want to be undisturbed, you name your thread something like "[PRI] Picnic in Central Park" and invite your two friends to join in the roleplaying. Nobody else but you and them are allowed to post in the thread. It would be a good idea to state in the first thread who is allowed to participate, so that mods can see if somebody posts somewhere without permission.
If you want to have a huge picnic where every dragon owner is welcome, on the other hand, you'll name your thread something like "[PUB] Picnic in Central Park". Easy, right?
