The Pocky Shop

User Image

The Pocky Shop is set aside for discussion on pre-created or published media. This includes anime, manga, cartoons, movies, books, webcomics, etc. Basically, you can talk and create threads about any pre-existing media with an established fandom of any size.

This is the best place in the guild to find out about new and/or popular girl-love media and get reviews on them. Try taking a look at the lists available or drop by the threads to see which series you might be interested in!

Remember, fanwork such as fanfiction doesn't belong here--that goes in the Guild Arena. Images (aside from intro images) should be placed in the PicturePost subforum. Corresponding threads in the Pocky Shop and PicturePost will be linked.

Stickied Threads-
Post any news and questions about pre-created media in these threads. If you've got info on the most recent shoujo-ai manga that have been licensed for distribution in English, post it in the news thread. If you want to know whether a particular movie is shoujo ai and there isn't a thread on it yet, ask it in the questions thread. Series identification questions can be asked here as well.

Series Threads-
These are general discussion threads established on the subject anime, manga, novel, movie, television series, etc. Series threads begin with an image and summary giving the basics on their topic and allow for basically any discussion applicable to the series.

Specifics Threads-
There should not be a great deal of specifics threads at the moment, but these threads address certain aspects, pairings, arcs, etc. concerning a main series. They might be established if a series thread is very active or full and members wish to hold more specific discussion. These threads can pass with more cursory summary and teaser materials, though images are still required.

List threads-
There are several list threads floating around the Pocky Shop. These threads are an easy way to find titles to check out, so rather than creating yet another thread asking for good shoujo-ai series, try one of these.

Starting Threads:

+ Tag threads with [Series Title] in the subjects.
+ Begin the thread with an image (if applicable) and a quick teaser or summary about the series (no spoilers, obviously). It doesn't need to be long or elaborate, just something to give an idea to those who don't know what it's about. This way, everyone has a fair chance to join in discussion or find out what a cool series you're talking about. :]
+ General series threads need more substantial summaries than specifics threads on the same series.

- You can copy and paste summaries from other websites as long as you cite your source(s). Please link back and give credit where it is due!

If your thread is a list, summaries are not necessary. If you're discussing only a single book or series, however, please do provide a summary for those who aren't in the know.

Here's an example of what your first post might look like. It's not necessary to do it this way, but this should give you some ideas.

Rules:

+ Spoilers and possible spoilers should be clearly marked and/or hidden. If you don't know how to do this, try writing "SPOILER -> /SPOILER" and whiting out the text between. This way everyone can enjoy everything properly. :3
+ Do NOT post copyrighted materials. We understand that everyone likes to be generous and post episodes or downloads of episodes, etc. so everyone can watch and enjoy. However, this is against the Gaian ToS and thus against our guild rules.

What is okay to post?
-AMVs (anime music videos that are fan created)
-Openings and closings to shows
-Previews and commercials (to series, movies, etc.)
-Any fan made media pertaining to a series

What is NOT okay to post?
-Any links to full episodes or places to download full episodes
-Posts of manga scanalations and/or links to scanalations (mangas scanned and fan translated)

Rulebreaking should be reported immediately to the Pocky Shop moderators or an online guild moderator. A list of all guild moderators and their respective areas can be found in the main forum in the "Meet the Mods!" thread.
