Terrariderms are about the size of a small fishbowl and their stomachs are made of thick, clear, glass-like material with an opening in the tops. Each side is adorned with porcelain elephant features, such as a tail-like handle on one end and a head with ear flaps, trunk, and tusks on the other. They do have small nub-like feet at the bottom of their fishbowl bodies, but they are limited in their mobility, forcing Terrariderms to precariously waddle side to side to get around or use the steam they expel from their trunks to help them float for a short period of time.
The interiors of Terrariderms are the most interesting part about them, because they display little gardens of various plants, fungi, and herbs in their budding stages. Each terrarium is a little different, since Terrariderms use the plants that are indigenous to their habitat, and because Terrariderms are so widespread and varied in habitat, this makes for some very unique terrariums depending on where the Terrariderm is found. However, most terrariums are layered similarly in that the soil is packed down at the bottom of the bowl, then topped with rocks and small stones to keep the soil from getting loose and mixing with the water, then plants are added with their roots safely buried in the soil while the leaves poke through the top. Then, water fills the upper half of the bowl.
Regardless of their habitat, Terrariderms are well known for their tea brewing abilities. The flora within their terrarium steep with the water they keep inside and the resulting mixture makes for very fine tea blends. There was once concern regarding taking a Terrariderm's water away from it and drinking it as tea, because there was a possibility of this harming the Terrariderm or dehydrating it. However, Terrariderms actually greatly enjoy sharing their tea with acquaintances and friends. Not only does their tea have calming and healing properties on those who partake, but this serves as a way for Terrariderms to recycle their used, "dirty" water for clean, fresh water to help the plants inside their terrariums stay healthy and nourished. Therefore, it is actually healthy for the Terrariderm to pour out cups of its tea and share it so that it can go refresh the water within it
In spite of looking fragile, their glass and porcelain-like features are actually quite tough and durable, which serves as a protective shell for the plants it keeps within. Occasionally this glass-like armor will get chipped or cracked, but it heals over time as Terrariderms grow bigger to suit the needs of its plants. Rare variants of Terrariderms are a peculiar shade of sky blue instead of their typical creamy white color. These Terrariderms are extremely rare and highly sought after due to the rumor that their tea is an even more potent cure-all than the average Terrariderm's due to being blessed by Arceus itself.
Habitat:
Terrariderms are surprisingly adaptable to just about any environment, and their terrariums will always reflect their habitats. Terrariderms who live in dense forests will have terrariums with small mushrooms, moss, twigs, leaves, and thick grass, where as Terrariderms who live in the desert will have terrariums filled with sand, small pebbles, and small cacti. Terrariderms can even be found living underwater, with their terrariums that boast of kelp farms, coral, and sea sponges.
In spite of their adaptability, once a Terrariderm has chosen a habitat, it will typically stay in that environment for the rest of its life to properly support the plants that it's growing. Because of this, taking a Terrariderm out of its natural habitat is dangerous to its health if you are not able to take proper care of it and its plants. For people and trainers who want to raise a Terrariderm, it is recommended that they hatch a Terrariderm or catch one that has not yet started to adapt its terrarium to the environment yet, and then help equip it with plants that are more forgiving in all environments so that it is best suited for travel.
Behavior:
Terrariderms are naturally friendly and peaceful creatures that try to live in harmony with their environments. Wherever it goes, it does its best to "blend in" both with its terrarium and with the pokemon around it. They are in turn, typically well received guests of their homes due to their environmentally friendly disposition, given that Terrariderms both care for plants from their homes and also help promote plant growth in the area by populating their habitats with more plants. Additionally, Terrariderms are natural healers, and allow other pokemon to drink their tea to help cure them of battle wounds and other status afflictions.
That's not to say that these small elephants don't have a little bit of a mischievous side. Their pixie blood makes them little pranksters who will sometimes playfully spray pokemon with water or toot their trunk trumpets and stomp around like an imposing pokemon to fool others. Their teasing nature is all mostly harmless and done only with the best of intentions. Usually they will smooth things over afterwards by offering a friendly teatime to laugh about their misadventures.
Teatimes are usually their response when faced with any sort of adversity due to their tea's natural calming properties, and Terrariderms very rarely get angry or upset themselves. They are fairly easygoing creatures who are the first to forgive and forget any slight done to them in the hopes of keeping the peace.
Diet:
Due to the symbiotic relationship between Terrariderms and their terrariums, Terrariderms do not need to eat like normal pokemon. Most of their nutrients comes from the plants inside of it and the energy they produce during photosynthesis.
Terrariderms do, however, get thirsty when the water in their terrarium is running low. When this happens, they will travel to the nearest clean body of water and scoop up water in their trunks, then deposit it inside their bowl-like bodies.
Breeding Information:
Egg group: Undiscovered
Gender Ratio: 1:1
Terrariderm can't breed because their species breed by a sort of cross-pollination method that Terrariderm cannot mimic because the plants they grow are just sprouts that can't pollinate.
When a Terrariderm is first hatched from an egg, their terrariums are actually completely empty, so shortly after the parent Pachyflora help it find plants and soil to fill it with so that it can start to feed off of the energy of the plants.
Evolution:
If a Terrariderm is holding a seed item (Psychic, Misty, Grassy, or Electric) and it is activated by a terrain and consumed, Terrariderm will evolve into Pachyflora. Its type varies depending on the seed consumed.
