Cynder The Moon Dragon

ynder was a young Moon Dragon. that had been abandoned by her flight. She was just hatched but was on sale in the slave market. She would hiss at anyone who came near her, causing her to be beaten quite a lot. She had a broken wing and a scar on her left eye that still hurt from time to time. As she was in her cage, she sensed something strange. It was Hajime. When she saw him, she noticed a little girl with him. She roared to get the child's attention. Mew heard the dragon's cries and practically dragged Hajime over to her. "She's hurt papa." Mew said reaching out to pet the young dragon who nuzzled the child's hand gently after smelling her a bit from a distance.

Cynder backed up when the keeper of the shop came over seeing that he had potential customers. "What are ya willin' to offer me for the dragon?" He said as Cynder cowered in the back of her cage. As she did she looked at Mew, who said "Why are you so scared, Cynder?" to the little dragon already giving her a name. Upon hearing the soft voice, and her new name, Cynder reached a small claw out of the cage, wincing as her wing hurt her whenever she moved it.

The shop keep was intimidated by Hajime's glare but stood his ground. "What're ya willin' to offer up? Them Moon dragons are practically extinct in this day an age. I'm sure ya can see my dilemma about a set price for her." He said honestly as Mew pet Cynder, keeping her calm and happy for the moment. Cynder looked up at Hajime as Mew pet her nuzzling the Merfolk girl's gentle hand as she was pet. Usually she wasn't friendly around anyone who tried to touch her, but seeing as the little girl got along well with the dragon, the shop keep said "I'd be willin' to trade her for somethin' of equal value as well." She said. Once a deal was reached, Cynder's cage was open and she ran over to Mew. She was small for a dragon, even smaller than Mew. She practically knocked the little girl over as she snuggled close to her new friend however making her laugh as she was nuzzled.

Later that night, Mew made sure that Cynder was happy and ready for bed. The vet had wrapped her wing in a soft cast, and gave them some herbal medications to help with any pain that she might have. Mew climbed into bed. Yue was out and about with the other two getting supplies for tomorrow. Cynder then jumped onto the bed with Mew's help and snuggled up to her new best friend. Mew giggled before hugging Cynder who lay down snuggling with the merfolk girl. Cynder then looked over at Hajime who seemed a bit annoyed at her. After Mew was asleep, she went over to Hajime and sat in front of him trying to make friends with him. She nudged his leg before she sat in front of him looking up at him with a tilted head, hoping she could make friends with Mew's papa.

Cynder made a small purring sound as she was pet. She wasn't sure how useful she could be since she was so small but she'd do her best to protect her new friends. After she was asleep snuggled up to Mew who was hugging her close, Cynder seemed to be dreaming of protecting her new friends. While not much was known about her species of dragon, what was known was that they were once used to protect people long ago. Especially when the moon matched how dark their scales were. Since Cynder was mostly white with very little black scales, that meant her powers were strongest at the quarter moon. While Moon Dragons were very powerful on their own, it was rare for one to be alone since they were social dragons. Cynder was taken away from her mother's flight when she was an egg so she had no idea who her mother was or anything of the sort.

Mew and Cynder had become fast friends and Cynder always did her best to stay close to Mew. Both of them were happy which made Yue and all the other girls happy. Currently, Mew was asleep with Cynder in her lap, curling around the Merfolk girl to keep her warm. Though Cynder was starting to nod off she was trying to fight it, wanting to prove that she was more than just a baby dragon.
