I've met very few people who were good enough to drive automatic and still be able to keep their speed up.

By the way, don't take me as manual shifting retarded, I play manual in the game a few times, but I don't practice it as much.

there was a fast AT AP1 at our arcade back on v2. Mostly every car can be fast, and on both AT and MT, it only really really really matters when you are running like world times. Everything else is just personal skill ,and people use different advantages to help them.

Everything else is just personal skill ,and people use different advantages to help them. For me, the advantage I get off driving AT is that I focus more on my driving and less on my shifting. I know how to brake properly and not lose much speed when entering a corner and being able to exit it at a good speed. I've tried the "eraser" a few times, but I've been more successful doing it in MT than in AT.

The AT option is mainly for people who just want to play for fun or a one time type of thing. Yeah I agree that you have an advantage because you can focus on your driving more, but you can only go so far in an AT. For the more serious gamer/drifter, you'd want to drive the MT. Same goes with real driving if you want to bring out the potential of the car.

123456hi sic742617000027 I've tried the "eraser" a few times, but I've been more successful doing it in MT than in AT. You can't shift up manually in AT, so it's pointless to do an eraser in AT(unless you know exactly when it will shift up and your timing is good). I just downshift the car when I'm turning, and exiting the curve the car will upshift again, so it's obviously not as good as an MT eraser, but it has worked for me a few times. @Leash: A lot of people play with MT just for fun, and I know some guys who race AT and were preety serious in the game. I've made some of the top 10 records in my arcade, and I hold the #1 spot in Usui clockwise with a 2:52.
