Name: Ishida Uryuu
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Height: 171cm (5'7")
Weight: 55kg (121lbs)
Occupation: High school student, Quincy
Physical Traits: Ishida has black hair with long bangs framing his face. His eyes are dark and flat, and he's constantly adjusting his rectangular wire-frame glasses. His body is lean and his usual posture is a coolly arrogant semi-slouch, except when he's firing his bow--then he's ramrod straight.
Outfit: Ishida's normal attire seems to be a short-sleeved shirt and long pants similar to the school uniform he wears. His shoes are simple loafers, and he wears his cross-charm bracelet on his right wrist at all times.
Uniform: Long-sleeved white tunic with a high collar and side pockets that reaches down to mid thigh. On the front is a blue zipper with a cross-piece fastener below the collar. The back has a five-point star, also blue, situated between the shoulder blades. The tips of the star are hollow rings. A blue stripe, same thickness as the lines of the star, runs vertically from the top of his collar to the bottom hem. The star overlays the stripe without the top star ring being bisected. The tunic has hip-high slits on both sides to allow for easier movement. His pants are white and formfitting though not by any means spandex. Black socks and white slip-on loafers complete the ensemble. The cross-charm bracelet is the focus for his spirit weapon, the bow Kojaku. While he possesses the Sanrei glove, he hasn't used it.
Abilities: Ishida can see, hear, and touch ghosts and Hollows, as well as sense them. He can create Kojaku (a spirit weapon in the shape of a longbow) to kill the Hollows, though if used too much too often the metal ring he uses to draw the arrows of Kojaku it slices into his finger, making further shots more difficult and painful as the ring cuts in further. Also, if Kojaku becomes too big from absorbing too much energy, it starts ripping up the flesh of his bow-arm. He knows of the reiraku and can see them clearly, knowing even the color of a Shinigami's.
--Hirenkyaku: gathering spiritrons under one's feet to achieve high-speed movement.
--Rasoutengai: forming lines of countless spiritrons and attaching them to the body to allow for movement until the body is paralyzed. It is the most powerful spiritron-manipulating technique.
Skills: He is a VERY skilled left-handed archer and good at sewing as well as being very intelligent. As a Quincy he knows a lot about the Shinigami and the Soul Society, but is lacking in some areas of social skills. He's also a horrible liar.
Personality: Usually calm, cold, and collected, but Shinigami rub him the wrong way which brings out his reckless side. He's not a people person, though he does have some grudging respect for Ichigo.
Interests: Sewing, cooking (but only for himself), proving the strength of the Quincies to the Shinigami, avenging his master.
Family: Father: Ishida Ryuken. Grandfather: Ishida Souken, also Ishida's sensei (deceased).
History: When Ishida was first able to see ghosts is unknown, but he began learning about the role of the Quincies at a young age. His master taught him about Hollows and Shinigami, how to see the reiraku, and how to focus his spirit energy into his bow. Ishida also learned how and why the Quincies were wiped out, and he found he agreed with the decision. His master told him how he pleaded with the Shinigami to have the two factions work together, with the Quincies acting as a first-response team until the Shinigami came, but he was always brusquely rebuffed.
Ishida's hatred for the Shinigami stems from the fact that his master fought against five strong hollows all at once, and fought them for a hour, but the Shinigami didn't arrive until an hour after he had been killed. In their peaceful Soul Society, the Shinigami have no idea of what it's like to live on the mortal plane.
A member of Ichigo's class, Ishida had already sensed Ichigo's spirit energy, and had known of his transformation into a substitute Shinigami. He knows Rukia's true identity as well. After finally revealing himself to Ichigo and Rukia he challenged Ichigo to a contest of who could kill the most Hollows. That little stunt ended with he and Ichigo fighting back-to-back against a horde before Uruhara and company came to help. At that point the two of them faced a bigger threat, Menos Grande. Ichigo managed to find the power to cut Menos foot-to-head, causing the behemoth Hollow to retreat. But Ichigo's spirit energy became too unstable, and Ishida's bow, Kojaku, began reacting to the power Ichigo was putting out. Ishida started firing bolt after bolt into the sky until Ichigo's power stabilized, and by that time his arm and both hands were pretty heavily damaged.
While he admitted privately that he had been reckless in his passion to prove himself to a Shinigami (even a substitute one) due to the guilt he felt over not aiding his master years ago, he has no plans on becoming friends with Ichigo and is awaiting their next chance to compete against each other.
Sample roleplay entry. Ishida unwound his bandages for what he hoped was the final time. The healing skin of his hands and right arm was a healthy healing pink, and it didn't seem as if he would need to keep them bound. Flexing his fingers, he walked over to the window to gaze out at the city. Life went on as it always did, with the majority of people having no clue of what had happened just a week earlier.
Well, except for Kurosaki's companions. Rukia, Chad, Orohime, they all knew. Ishida had sensed an increase in Chad and Orohime's powers, and he wondered when Rukia was going to get hers back. It couldn't be easy for her to be stuck in that gigai, especially when he knew that the longer a Shinigami stayed in one, the harder it was to get extracted. Not that Ishida minded. She could rot in the gigai, for all he cared.
Gently massaging his hands, he saw the glint of metal that was his bracelet. He gazed at it for a good long while, his thoughts turned inward toward the memories of his master. Shrugging it off he turned away from the window. A few more days, and he would go back to his practice range. He would get stronger.
