Hi Mikle,
Damn 4Kids Entertainment and their editing evil ! I wouldn't mind it as much if they offer UNEDITED versions as well, but they don't. I think the only 4Kids dubbed show that I like is Pokemon. Yu-Gi-Oh! is okay too though.

I like the manga which I read in Shonen Jump, but meh... I stopped buying it and the 5sec I saw of the anime didn't interest me.

I love the Manga.. But I hate 4Kids for ******** up the Anime. Luffy's voice is so obnoxious and everyone's voice acting is horrible..it's like how Funimation did a not-so-great job on Yu Yu Hakusho. http://www.vgcats.com/comics/?strip_id=145

Hey, One Piece is on Toonami, not [adult swim]. And yes, 4Kids is worse than Funimation. (Although Funi did a fairly decent job with FMA) You may not be aware, but 4Kids managed to butcher Pokemon.(they totally denied us the seizure enducing episode) I can hardly watch One Piece because of what they've done even though I really wanted to watch the series and hadn't seen it before. I've decided to buy the manga volumes instead.

4kids totally screwed up Pokemon. They took out a lot of episodes because of "controversial" stuff. I could understand that one episode where everyone was pointing guns at each other, but one of the stupidest reasons are those episodes where Jynx appears, because she's supposed to represet those Yamanba girls in Japan with her face and hair, but one woman critic thought it was racist. Carole Boston Weatherford is such a douchebag. -_-
4Kids even ******** up all its other anime because they try to erase Japanese culture out of them. Like stupid names they kept calling the onigiri in Pokemon or like when I remember in Cardcaptors where they clearly erased the Japanese words on the blackboard even when there was an animation of the teacher writing something there.
Anyways enough ranting, One Piece manga is good. I'm glad I still read it, because 4Kids killed the anime for me.

DrunkenStyle Like stupid names they kept calling the onigiri in Pokemon Oh, man... that has always seemed too stupid to me. They are clearly NOT donuts! I've seen that done to onigiri in many other dubbed anime. In One Piece there's a scene where the little girl is trying to feed some she made to Zolo and they've been recolored brown and called cookies. WTF?! At least in the translated manga, they're called rice balls. Is 4Kids doing Zatch Bell, too? Cause I remember trying to watch the first episode and the bank robber has this horribly drawn bubble gun instead of a gun. It's just like the super-soaker thing. It's almost as bad as anime that made it here in the eighties/early ninties. I had no idea it came from Japan at the time cause they changed EVERYTHING.

Yeah. Why can't American TV just suck it up. They're making kids stupider by turning anime into some kind of Barney. Fighting Foodons had that one Hot Dog cowboy that uses guns, but you can see it's a crappy ketchup/mustard "shooter" pasted over the gun.
Violent TV and violent videogames don't make kids stupid, the parents do. And also people who try to "shield the kid's eyes" aka 4Kids.

Hi Shiarka and DrunkenStyle, You're in luck then if you don't like 4Kids' version of Pokemon! 4Kids LOST the rights for Pokemon. Now, Pokemon USA has the rights and is planning on re-casting the English dub. I'll miss Eric Stuart as Brock and James though cry ! Actually, Nelvana was the company that $*#)!*$ Card Captor Sakura into Cardcaptors sweatdrop . Zatch Bell is being handled by Viz Media. Sonia sweatdrop
