BIOGRAPHY: Ryan's history began long before he ever existed. His actualization to the world began in the mind of a Witch, an experiment to create the perfect controllable meister. Ryan is seen as a "usable failure", as he did not meet the Witch's requirements. Ryan is what is known as a Chimera Soul. Carefully curated parts of dead Meisters' souls were taken to create Ryan's soul. The parts were then stitched together, and the Witch then cast a spell to make his soul look like a normal, complete soul. What the soul looked like determined if the experiment was a success or failure. Unfortunately, or fortunately, for Ryan, his soul took on the motif of a Lion. A stereotypically prideful creature with a penchant for being strong willed. That would not work for the Witch. However, the boy would be a fantastic candidate for a Meister. The spell had another effect. It allowed the Witch to view whatever Ryan saw as if she were in his place herself. He would be the perfect, unknowing spy.
The boy would be aged to around 3 years old and 'gifted' to the Witch's daughter as a companion. The daughter was looked down upon by her father, and had never been allowed to really have any friends. Ryan was to be kept secret. If the father ever learned of his existence, it would be detrimental to his continued living. This fear driven into him, he would always hide when the father was around. His nature would struggle to get him to act otherwise, but his young age and insistence on praise from his "mother" would allow him to stay his instincts. This would go on for two years, the two being close, until one day she had disappeared. The Witch would come back for him through a portal, and that was the last he saw as a dark orb shot forth at him.
Waking up in an orphanage in Death City, Ryan struggled to remember who he was. He effectively had amnesia, but his memories in reality were locked away or destroyed. Whatever was quickest. All Ryan could remember was his first name. The Grayson surname would be given at random, but the boy would make it his own as he grew in the orphanage, quickly becoming someone the other kids could come to in times of need. The boy would be involved in all manner of fights, always on the side of those that couldn't defend themselves. Fighting was against the rules, but he didn't care. If they wouldn't help, he would. This gave Ryan the reputation of a troublemaker, even though it was quite the opposite. He was a trouble eliminator.
Across the street from the Orphanage, there was a playground the kids would be able to go to in their free time after classes. Ryan would take his time to make friends and get to know those around his age. He had a penchant to want to get to know people on a personal level. The friendliness wasn't always the only reason, though. Some people could only be really read when they let their guard down. This allowed Ryan to suss out the real troublemakers from those that could be trusted. Those he trusted, he viewed as part of his pride. Those that were a part of his pride, he would protect, by any means necessary. This wasn't a requirement most days, as most of the time, kids were just around to play. This allowed him to live out most of his time at the playground with fun and games. This wouldn't last forever, however.
When he turned 10, Ryan was pulled into the orphanage's office. Inside sat two of the staff, and two other adults with a daughter. It was explained to Ryan that these adults had been going to the park for some time, and for some reason, wanted to see about adopting him. Ryan kept his mouth shut as the staff tried to convince the parents against adopting a troublesome child, but they rebuked the claims. They had seen him time and again save and protect those that couldn't do it for themselves, and wanted the boy to be a part of their family. They were up front about their reasons, though. They could see the boy's potential as a meister, and their daughter would soon be coming of age into her weapon form. The parents could tell Ryan would be a fantastic match, and asked the boy directly if he wanted to go to the DWMA. Ryan thought for a moment before staring straight into the eyes of the staff. He spoke to the parents, but his eyes never left his longtime "caregivers." "If anything happens to any of the kids here, I'll be back for you. That's a promise." He then looked at the family and nodded. The paperwork was signed within the next 10 minutes and Ryan left the orphanage, for good.
Upon being adopted, Ryan asked to choose his own last name. He chose what felt right. He thanked the Shepards for adopting him, but their name wasn't for him, at least not at this time. They obliged, and he chose the last name of Grayson. The reasoning was lost. It's just what felt correct to the boy. Over the next two years, Ryan would come to meet and get to know the daughter, Serah. She was an adventurous soul, wanting to experience the world and everything it had to offer. With Ryan's penchant for doing things his way, this fit in just fine with him. The two quickly became inseparable, their bond growing every time they trained together after class. When Serah turned 12, she manifested the first of her weapon forms. A glowing blue energy blade taking the place of her forearm. The result of training her Soul Wavelength with Ryan allowed her soul, and when wielded Ryan's soul, the ability to form the striking surface of the weapons she would take the form of. Her family was known for being multi-weapons. This would be Serah's main weapon form, but Ryan's favorite would come next. Serah would turn into what the two of them dubbed a 'Buster', a small energy cannon that encompassed the hand and forearm of Ryan. This allowed them to shoot out soul bullets. The two of them now had range and close combat capabilities on their side.
Another year would pass before the two of them would join the DWMA as students. By then, they had already gained an understanding of how their basic abilities worked, but they had a lot to learn before they would go and take on missions. That wouldn't be for another two years before that would happen. Now the two of them work in tandem along with anyone else from the DWMA to further Lord Death's goals. By whatever means felt right.

They also start with two additional light weapon perks if of Weapon class. Alternatively, Witches and Meisters gain two additional perks in one dexterity skill. Once every five posts, Outlaws may cause an offensive light weapons or dexterity-based technique/spell that normally only has a single target to target two additional enemies without diminishing in power. BIOGRAPHY: Serah Shepard was born to David and Meryl Shepard, two Demon Weapon parents with long lineages of being teamed up with Meisters. Serah would be no different, in that she would enroll in the DWMA when she was old enough. However, her parents were going to make sure she had the perfect partner. If their daughter was going to maximize her potential, they needed someone who could synchronize with her 100%. Luckily for them, Meryl could read soul wavelengths and get a great feeling for who might work.
None of Serahโs parentsโ plans were known to her. They would raise her lovingly and teach her about her lineage and future abilities, but they would also assess her soul as well as those she interacted with. Serahโs days were spent in a cycle of work and play, as they lived near a playground where she could interact with kids her age. While her parents watched from the side, her mother was busy surveying all of the other potential Meisters.
It wouldn't be particularly easy, however, as Serah was an incredibly adventurous spirit, wanting to go out and explore new areas. A lot of the time that caused her parents to break from their goal and keep her out of any unwarranted trouble. Serah never meant any ill will, however, as she was just excited to go out and adventure, make friends, and enjoy life.
Multiple play-dates would be set up to see how Serah interacted with other children, but all of them were either not able to become Meisters, were Demon Weapons themselves, or didnโt vibe with Serah. This left the parents on the hunt for a suitable partner until Serah was 10. That day, they would find the answer to their long-time search.
Like normal, Serah was brought to the playground by her parents. Today, however, the kids from the orphanage were granted a longer stay outside. One boyโs soul immediately caught Merylโs eye as he worked to make sure nobody on the playground was having any issues. They expected him to be a hero or ruler, but no. He was an Outlaw. Strange, considering his penchant to care about othersโ wellbeing. Normally theyโd do whatever they wanted. But this one seemed keen to protect the order. It was curious.
The parents would keep watch on this boy over the next few weeks, seeing that he always had othersโ best interests at heart. He was headstrong, and wasnโt afraid to get his hands dirty. Heโd only go to the adults for help when either he couldnโt handle a situation, which was exceedingly rare, or when he was done solving a situation. The boy landed himself in trouble a lot by doing so, but Serahโs parents were sold when the boy had protected Serah from some would-be bullies one day. He didnโt push her to the side and take the fight himself. He fought alongside her to even the odds.
Serahโs parents went to the orphanage as soon as possible to adopt the boy. Even though the orphanage tried to dissuade them from doing so, they would adopt the boy, named Ryan, to serve as Serahโs Meister. Serah and Ryan were told of the plan after the fact, but they didnโt mind. The two of them got along quite well and their souls meshed fantastically.
The two would train every day after classes, and it would be another two years before Serah would get her first weapon form. A blue energy blade took the place of her arm from the elbow down, and this allowed her to fully transform into a Saber. Her main weapon form, however, would come later in the form of a Buster, enabling her to shoot bullets made from her or Ryanโs soul wavelength. A third weapon form would manifest after they joined the DWMA. A pair of knuckles that allowed for fist fighting. Since then, the two have concentrated on their classes at the DWMA while strengthening their bond.

Dual Alterers gain two additional perks for their primary weapon type. Explorers gain two perks in a Dexterity skill. Explorers are highly compatible with Outlaws and incompatible with Lovers. โจ Sword Fang | Level 1 | Tier 1 | Stamina After previously positioning three swords so that they stand parallel to one other in the ground, the samurai strikes all of their blades simultaneously with a powerful swing directed near their sunken tips, causing the entirety to slash upwards in a single violent movement that is reminiscent of a fang.
โจ Vertical Line | Level 2 | Tier 1 | Stamina Commonly performed as a branch of Sword Fang, the samurai has three Infinite Swords float in front of them vertically. The samurai then hits the end of each sword's grip one by one. Each sword glows with energy as its cutting power is drastically improved and able to cut through anything.

Her dad owns and runs a dive bar, while her mom runs a music shop across the street. This caused Cecilia to be surrounded by music from the moment she was born. She had no aspirations to be a meister, and her family didnโt have weapons, so she dove into the studies of the guitar. This went on until she was 13 years old.
Cecilia began exhibiting signs of magical aptitude. It was small at first, but quickly grew in power. Ceciliaโs momโs side of the family had stories of witches, but they thought it was just that. Her parents were unsure of what to do until one of her momโs sisters came by. She too was a witch, and assured Ceciliaโs parents that there was nothing to be afraid of, as long as the girl had proper training. Her parents were ok with this, as long as she kept safe. To be fair, they had no thoughts on witches or the DWMA, so they fully supported Cecilia getting a hold on her power.

All sorcerers unlock exclusive access to the arcane magic skill tree and can control magic circles as a result. Sorcerers are unique among witches because they rely on magical items that are particular to their souls called Demon Tools or Demon Books that are common sources of their magical power. This technique does not increase the level of a technique, it is similar to a second technique being used. Can not affect more than one ally regardless of other perks or abilities.
Arcane โพ Eldritch Circles | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Mana The sorcerer generates magic circles by flowing mana into their demon tool. The sorcerer is able to create up to twelve magic circles that float in the air and are freely manipulated by the sorcerer. The color and design of the circles are at the discretion of the user. The edges of the circles are as sharp as blades and the faces of the circles are as hard as steel. The circles can be grasped in the center by the sorcerer and able to be wielded by hand. Depending on the level of this spell, the circles can be up to 10 feet wide per level (10 feet at level 1 and 50 feet at level 5). The magic circles can defend against lower-level spells and techniques, collectively dividing the strength of the technique. This technique has a four post duration.
โพ Sorcery Gateway | Level 2 | Tier 1 | Mana The Witch channels a scaled level of mana through a magic circle and causes it to glow. The sorcerer is able to cast a spell through a magic circle and use it as a gateway for the spell. A spell cast through a magic circle cannot be higher level than the magic circle itself. The spell will often change color to match the color of the magic circle. When a spell is fired through a sorcery gateway, it is not detectable through Soul Perception, but is still visible to the naked eye. The distorting magic surrounding the technique also negates any dodge bonus the opponent has.
โพ Enchanted Mirror | Scaled Level | Tier 2 | Mana The sorcerer channels a scaled amount of mana into one magic circle and uses it to reflect an incoming enemy magic spell back to its source upon collision. The amount of mana channeled into the circle must be equal to the level used by the enemy to create the opposing spell.
Coven Magic โพ Coven Collaboration | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Mana This spell allows other spells to be combined together and is the foundation of coven magic. One Witch performs this spell and pays the mana cost. This spell's level is scaled but must be at least the same level as the highest level spell in the combination. This spell does not consume an action. This allows the spells to be combined together and splits the mana cost of the spells used between the members of the coven. For example, one Witch casts Coven Collaboration and pays the mana cost, and then casts a fireball spell. The other Witch also casts a fireball. Both fireballs combine together and form a fireball that is one level higher up to level five.
โพ Coven Barricade | Scaled Level | Tier 1 | Mana One Witch casts this spell to create a defensive magical barrier and can share the cast with other Witches in their group. The barrier is twenty feet per level applied to the barrier. The Witches split the scaled mana cost of the barrier and only one Witch pays a combat action to use it.
