"They say that beyond the desert sand of Mojave there stands a great and powerful wizard. If one answers his riddle correctly, they are given a wish. It is by these wishes that our world was formed. Crushed or ascended and continuosly shaped into the arrid, desolate place it is today."
The story teller pauses for a moment, relishing in the remembrance of cool breezes and fresh water. "There was once lush growth in these lands. Our ruler, Ahrianna, was a good and lawful woman. She had found the wizard adn from him asked for prosperity in her nation. Thus, the lands grew lush, the rivers large and people came from all over to live in our kingdom. However, on a dreary and thunderous night a man donning a cloak the color of blood found the old sage. His request was simple, but horrible. He asked for the sage to undo the gift given to Ahrianna."
"The wells dried, the rivers evaporated, grasses and trees whithered to the frail, brown brush and the desert we live in today was formed."
A child, wide eyed and curious, opens his mouth. "But Master Henodoin, why is it that the sage would hurt our people? He lives in our desert...so why not make it pretty?"
The story teller smiles sadly and pats the child on his head. "Because dear Sahn, the sage has no will with which to control. He merely stay on his point, a prisoner to the magic in his body. He is simply an Orritick."
"What is that?"
"An empty shell."

Welcome to Mojave, an arrid, and dry land upon which one third of the present Earth's population dwells. There was a piercing scream then the materials from the edge of the cavern toppled into the fissure that had suddenly opened beneath a few of the miners in Girash. The scream had belonged to a woman with lurid blue eyes and fiery hair, shortly cropped and soon to be covered in obsidian if it had not been for the stone steps that formed beneath her. She rushed up the false stone and was pulled out of teh way by a young man with white-blonde hair.
Kaitlyn eyes were bulging as she stared down the deep pit she nearly became one with."Ok, who freaking blew up the damn dynamite?!" A large voice boomed. The lead miner looked at Drennan who was holding Kaitlyn who was eyeing Drennan. Everyone knew that it likely had been the darkly clothed punk who had done it. Kait shoved away from him and brushed the dust form her shirt.
"Thanks." She grumbled beneath her breath ad moved over to stand beside the brute of a man they called Bob.
"Drennan, how many times do we have to tell you? You can work in the caverns all you want but the dynamite is off limits. Damnit boy, you are going to get someone killed!"
Drennan rolled his eyes."The situation was taken care of Bob. Sides, its not like I didn't know she was there."
"Are you saying that you did it on purpose!"
Drennan laughed, but the sound was cuahg tin his throat as the area around the three began to get warmer. Fire licked at Kaitlyn's hands. Bob sighed, took Kait by the shoulders and shoved her towards the exit of the mine. "Go cool off Kait. I'll deal with him. Go on."
She snarled and turned on her heel, leaving in a flury of rage. Kaitlyn found her way to the Girash entrance and exited, stepping into the hot noon sun."That sutpid, bliming, f-ing, little..."And the curses went on...

Shateque sat on the dirt ground, leaning against the small house. Her hat sat on top of her feet keeping the sun off of them while the hangover of the roof kept the rest of her shaded. She stared off in the distance at the welcome sign that said Ends Meet and took a sip of water from the bottle that sat next to her in the shade. Yawning, she looked around for something interesting to do besides the cleaning that she was supposed to be doing at the moment. She looked down at her feet which were completely covered by the hat and began to wiggle them from side-to-side. "A dancing hat! Hoorah." she thought absently as she began to zone out.

Phoenix walked lightly down the road, whistling a lively tune. Soon she came up to a small house. Good, maybe there's someone here who is interested in my goods.... Noticing a girl about her own age leaning against the house, she called out, "Hello, there! How are you today? That's quite a nice hat you've got there, I've got some real pretty ribbon that would look nice in it, or maybe some fake flowers - like to take a look?" She was already up to the girl, pulling out an inch-thick blue ribbon. "How about this one?" She smiled to the girl, showing her the ribbon.

The mid-day sun felt a bit cooler than it did back in his hometown of Raish. Lael, enjoying this more moderate temperature took his time strolling the streets of Girash, where random commoners set up little stands, or made shops in their homes to sell their wares. A strange, short man came up to him, asking, "You look like the kind of person who need a little uplifting every now and then. So how about it?" Lael notcied the man reach under his tattered coat and pull out a few dark leaves, with light wisps of color followijg the veins. It was a Trama leaf, an illegal narcotic used by many people to take themselves away from the real world. he had never seen any before, but knew it from the descriptions. Lael pushed the man aside, looking at him with disgust. "Have these people no shame?" He thought. Lael didn't like big cities, because he was more comfortable in the corn and wheat fields back in Raish than here. This supply trip was turning into chaos. He was only looking for a few items, notably seeds to plant next season. Not in any rush, because harvest had just finished and planting was a long way off, he decided to check out one of the shops. He made his way over to a scythe smith. This man made amazing blades. They were of two varieties: farming and combat. He already had one of the finest harvesting scythes, but the amazing craftsmenship of the battle scythes snatched his imagination. The shop owner looked at him and stated, "I see you are fond of this one right here. This isn't one of the better battle scythes, but it goes for a good price. How about... 700 drakes?" Just the mention of the price turned him off instantly. He could only get that much money through 2 average years of planting. There was no way he was going to blow that much money, even though he was carrying it. Suddenly an explosion pierced the silence, accompanied by a scream.
((Aren't we all supposed to start in Girash?))

((Yes, but I think that I made it confusing. I have two Girash. One is the country and the other the community. Sorry. sweatdrop If everyone can migrate to the community, which, since the other two are already at ends meet cavern, this should all be ok. Ends Meet is linked to Girash, just about and hours walk to the border depending upon where you are.))
Kara walked down the roads, seeing a few people still highly disturbed by teh scream that he erupted from her mouth minutes earlier. She snorted, a little peturbed and ran straight into a man with green eyes and light blonde hair who stood beside the scythe stand. She blinked as she steadied herself and him at the same time. "Oh, I apologize, wasn't watching where I was going."
The shop owner glanced at her. "Kait, that scream would not have happened to have been yours? What happened in the mines?"
"That damn Drennan blew another set of TNT today. This time with me in the cross-hairs. I was liable to scorch the hair from his head were it not for Bob." Kaitlyn looked at Lael. "You must be new here...I haven't seen you around. I am Kaitlyn McVey, and you would be?"

Ariah finished posting her flyers in Ends Meet, the last one being across from a girl with a hat on her feet and some other woman attempting to sell her something. The young messanger sighed, those of Girash who were organizing the trip would be lucky if they managed to get anyone to go on this journey. "Black Rock Butte...what a waste of life..."

((Sorry, my mistake.))
Shateque snapped back to reality when a woman started talking to her. She looked around and saw the woman holding a blue ribbon and another across the street putting up flyers. Confused, she replied, "Uh... Yeah, it's nice." She scratched her head embaressedly and continued to speak, "I really don't think I have enough money, though. Sorry." Looking at the sun, she gasped and suddenly stood up. "Oh no! I'm supposed to be in Girash!!!" Grabbing the hat that had fallen to the side, she put in on and began to walk hastily away. She stopped and turned around when she had only walked a few feet. Realizing that she was being rude, she apologized, "I'm sorry, but I have to go to Girash immediately. Thank you for offering to sell me that pretty ribbon, though."

"That's alright!", Phoenix yelled after the woman as she ran off. Oh, I hate it when that happens.... Noticing the flyers being put up, she went to go check them out. "Expedition to Black Rock Butte....hmmm.....well I suppose I've been every where else, might as well at least learn more about it." With that remark, she made her way to Girash, just as the other girl had.

Shateque had begun running again once she apoligized; but, about ten yards from the edge of Ends Meet, she stopped and leaned on her knees, breathing heavily. "I hope no one can see me now. Heh, I have to be the least athletic person in the world." she thought as her breathing slowed down a little. Pushing her glasses up, she continued on, this time going much slower. She took a drink from her bottle of water. "Woh. Don't even remeber picking that up; good thing I did, though." She took another sip and recapped it. Once her breath returned to normal, she walked at a normal pace and re-adjusted her hat to keep the blazing sun off of her face.

Yoder sighed a little and turned to walk away when a young woman ran straight into him. Her blue eyes averted him as the shop keeper began to speak with her about the recent incident. Not too interested in the conversation and slightly put of by her seeming carelessness, he started to take a step away, when the same girl addressed him. being caught off guard, he stumbled as he pivoted his heel back around to face her. He responded, "Oh, Hi! My name is Yoder Lael, but most just refer to me as Lael. Yeah, I've never been here before. I'm just picking up some supplies for the next crop in Raish. Not to pry, but do you know what happened over at those mines?"

Kaitlyn laughed. "Seems we have a newbie indeed. I was just discussing that matter with the shop keep here. Yes, I do so hppen to know what occured. I am one of the miners." She smiled brightly and tucked a loose strand of her golden hair behind her ear. "There was an accident...more so a prank in my eyes. We have a miner around here who lacks proper respect with the dynamite. He thought it would be amusing to blow a section of the cave today that we had scheduled for demolition tomorrow. I, most unfortunately, was caught in that blast."
"Hm...I guess I screamed louder than I thought. Damn, I am never going to hear the end of that. Least to say I got out alive and am just a little peeved. Wait...you said Raish, right? How long have you been here? You haven't heard what is headed for Raish?"
