I'd like to write a self-insertion fic with a Tales game but I'm not sure which one would be more interesting to read about. (I won't do anything off from the storyline or anything...well, okay, maybe a few extra things...but I won't go totally crazy like some people do when they write this type of story.)

I'd write a ToS one, but I'm afraid it's been done too often...

So, which game?

Rebirth or Abyss....

or just Rebirth. I don't want Abyss spoiled for me, XD.

I thought about doing Abyss...but now I won't. sweatdrop

Rebirth might be interesting...
I might do that if no one else has any suggestions...

Eternia, maybe? xD? I'm not much for fanfiction, but I think Eternia has a lot of fun stuff going on to mess around with without ruining the characters and story I think ...

I don't know though. xD?????

I think maybe I should make a poll and then I could keep track...

EDIT: There. I didn't add Abyss because I could spoil it for everyone if I wrote that one...

I went with Eternia since, you know, what with Online there's an abundance of non-story characters.

I'll keep the poll going until Friday at least. Then whatever game has the highest number of votes, I'll use that one. So far it's Eternia...

Eternia has the most Orginal Chacters out of any game in the Frachise its no wonder its winning.

Tales of Salvation

~Prolouge~

Alone. She was all alone.
Gazing at her surroundings, she saw nothing but darkness. The sound of fast footsteps echoed around her.
"Wh--who's there?!" She turrned around, but for the moment, there was only the growing darkness. She was about to face forwards again, but something emerged into the small light and she could not turn away.
A small girl garbed in clothing she'd never seen before stared at her with frightened blue eyes. "Help me..." She whispered. The next words she spoke were unrecognizable.
"What? I don't understand...help you with what?"
"Carmen...Angelus..." The young girl became quieter. "Find it..." She whispered. "Before it's too late..." The girl began sinking back into the darkness. Her words echoed all around.
She tried to stop her. "Wait! How do I find it?! Where is this thing?!"

It was no use. Now the shadows covered her completely, too.

"Please...help me...."

~Chapter One~

"Bark, Bark!!" Silence. "Bark, Bark!! HOWWLLLL!!!"
"All right, all right, I'm up all ready." Leilani Irving growled to the excited dog. "Sheesh, Noishe, do you have to be so loud?! It's not even that late in the morning." Noishe just sat down on the floor, his large green and white tail thumping loudly on the wooden boards. Leilani swung her feet over the bed's edge, stretching widely. A thought suddenly entered her mind. "Hey, how did you get in here, anyway?" She asked the grinning dog. "I keep my door shut at night..."
"Bark!" The green and white animal answered, turning and pawing at her bedroom door. There was a clawing from the other side, and another bark.
"Oh, I see..." Leilani pulled open the door and another dog, smaller than Noishe, with pink and white pur came bounding in. "Dad must've let you in. I wonder why he didn't let Samara in, too?..." Samara licked Leilani's hand as she scratched her head. "Ah, well. It doesn't matter. Now you two, get out before you trash my room. You guys are too big to both be in here at the same time." Samara glanced up at her with sad eyes and Leilani shook her head. "Don't you give me that look. I'll play with you later. Now, shoo."
"Bark!" Samara agreed, running out after Noishe after the girl gave her a playful swat.
Leilani shut the door again, and leaned against it, heaving a huge sigh. The images of last night's dream ran through her head. "I wonder what that was all about?" She murmured to herself, running her fingers through her auburn hair. "It seemed so real..." There was a sudden tap at her balcony door. Leilani jumped when a few pebbles hit the door again. She crossed her room in four large strides and threw open her balcony doors.
"Ah, you're awake." The male voice came from directly below her room. Glancing down, she could see her father, Lloyd, smiling up a her, his left hand full of rocks. "Good morning."
"What's the big idea, Dad?" Leilani frowned, leaning on the railing. "You're going to break the windows on my doors."
"No, I won't." He said, dropping the pebbles. "If I wanted to break the windows, I'd use bigger rocks." Lloyd grinned wider when Leilani deepened her frown. "Oh, come on. Lighten up. You're just like your grandfather."
Leilani stood straight and waved a hand. "Yeah, yeah. The one I've never met. Blah, blah...So you keep telling me. But you still haven't told me why you were throwing pebbles at my windows."
"I just wanted to let you know where your mother and I would be this morning. I'm going to Meltokio for a few hours to do some things, and Colette is in Iselia, preparing some food for the festival."
"Oh, that's right. It's the last day of the year. So, are we going to Meltokio or staying here for the festivals this year?"
"Both." Lloyd said. "We'll spend the afternoon here and the evening in Meltokio, so you'd better be ready when I return later."
Leilani started to laugh. but stopped herself. "Dad, have I ever been late to anything?"
Her father paused a moment to think. "Well, there was this one time..."
"Uh, nevermind. I won't be late."
"I know." He smiled up at her and turned to leave. "You'd better hurry and get to the village." Lloyd said as he walked away. "Your mother expects you to help with the cooking!"
"Okay!" Leilani waved as her father disappeared into the trees.
Stretching again and yawning, Leilani turned and went back inside, shutting the doors behind her. The day was already beginning to become warm. It may haven been the last day in the last month of the year, but it felt like late spring, not winter. If most the trees hadn't been bare, you never would have noticed the difference.
Leilani pulled on a green dress with yellow-gold edges and a matching yellow bow on the waist that tied in the back, and scrubbed her face vigourously. She didn't have time to do anything with her hair. She'd have to do something with it later. Shrugging, Leilani ran a brush through her shoulder length hair and reached for her sachel, tying it to a leather cord she had fastened around her waist.
Satisfied, she called for Samara as she exited the house and started her trek through the forest.

The breezy, late-winter day settled gently over the small village of Iselia. Yet even though the Village of Oracles maintained a simple and quiet look on the outside, the inside was bustling with as much activity as the Port City of Palmacoasta on a regular day.
And that said a lot.
Everyone was preparing for the annual festival to celebrate the reuniting of the two worlds, Tethe'alla and Sylvarant. The stifling midday sun beat down on the village's inhabitants, forcing the men to peel off their sweat-soaked shirts as they set up the booths and such for that night. Two younger boys helped another group of men set up the stage for the festival performers.
Inside the nearby houses, several Iselia women bustled about in their kitchens, preparing the grand dinner and desserts. A young blond-haired woman worked intently, only stopping to brush the sweat away from her face. She quickly returned to her chopping, as a half-elven woman entered the kitchen with more vegetables.
The half-elven woman set her basket down, watching the blond as she concentrated hard on the tomato she was slicing. "Colette, don't put your fingers so close to the knife. You'll chop one off."
"I'm fine, Professor Sage." Colette said, with a calm smile. "I've managed to keep all of my fingers so far haven't I?"
"And I think we'd all like to keep it that way," Her friend and former teacher added. She glanced around at the others in the kitchen. "Why don't you have any help?"
Colette sighed, reaching for a carrot. "Because my 'help' hasn't arrived yet." She set the vegetable down and glanced out the window.
The older woman glanced at her with a knowing look. "Leilani?"
"She's just like Lloyd." Colette replied, returning again to her chopping. "She says she'll be on time, and then when it seems like she'll be late, she bursts in at the last moment."
"Leilani will be here. You know that." Raine assured. "She's very trustworthy."
The younger woman shook her head. "I know. I just wish she'd gotten here earlier than normal. It'd have been nice to have had extra help this morning." As soon as she had spoken her last word, commotion and shouting came from the men outside. Suddenly, a girl burst into the house, slamming the door shut behind her. Her dress fluttered gracefully into place as she stopped.
"I'm here!" Leilani said, with a smile. She stepped back when she saw Raine's expression. "What?" Her mother's look was just as scary. Kinder, but still scary. "But Mom, I--"
"None of your excuses." Raine interrupted sternly. "Put on an apron and help your mother slice these vegetables for the stew. Then you can start on making the fruit cocktails for dessert."
"But we're not stayin--Oh, nevermind." It didn't matter if they were leaving later. Raine would find another excuse for her to work. Pulling her short hair back in one sweep, Leilani reached for an apron and quickly went to work slicing celery. Satisfied, the older woman gave her friend a look that said 'watch-her-or-she'll-slack-off-and-you-know-it', and took a straw hat and basket and walked back outside.
Colette set down her knife and cleaned her hands on a nearby towel, watching her daughter. Leilani's blue eyes seemed sad...Was that worry on her face? Leilani glanced sideways and saw that her mother was watching her closely. "Now what, Mom?" Leilani sighed. "Whenever you look at me like that, it means you want to lecture me or something like that."
Colette's face held and trace of panic for a moment, but it was replaced with her usual smile and she giggled a little. "No it doesn't. Maybe I just like watching you."
The girl turned and leaned against the counter, peeling a potato. "No you're not. You always do that fake giggle when you lie."
Her mother heaved a sigh. "All right, fine. But I'm not going to lecture you or anything like that. It's just--"
Now Leilani was interested. "It's just...what?" She asked
"Well, you seem to be worried about something." Colette studied her daughter's face carefully. "Are you okay? Did something happen?"
The young girl froze. She was thinking about the dream too much...And now Colette knew something was up. Why did her mother have to be able to sense these kinds of things? Leilani plastered a smile on her face. "What are you talking about? I'm fine, really. Oh, my. It looks like we're out of vegetables. I'll go get some more!" She grabbed the empty basket and bolted out the front door. Once safely away from the house, Leilani breathed a sigh of relief. "Phew. That was close." Her mind drifted back to her dream again. "I shouldn't worry Mom and Dad about these kinds of things." She scolded herself as she crossed behind the item shop into the gardens. "They'll get all bent out of shape and think it has something to do with the Yggdrasill Tree or something and then everything will be a huge mess. Besides, it was just a dream. Nothing's going to happen."
"...What's not going to happen?" A voice asked.
Glancing over, Leilani noticed a guy about 17 years of age leaning on the fence. "Hey, Chris." She greeted her friend. "I thought you were going to stay in Meltokio today?"
"Nah. Dad said I needed to stop lying around the house and come help here since your Dad was not going to be here this morning." Chris jumped up and sat on the
fence. "So, Professor Sage is making you help, too?" He asked, with a sympathetic smile.
"Uh-huh." Leilani stood up, brushing the dirt from her dress. "She's making sure everyone who's able to work is doing something useful."
"That sounds like her." Chris jumped off the fence and landed neatly in the garden. The sound of splahing water nearby caught his attention and he grinned. "I think Professor Sage just pushed her brother into the pond."
"I take it that means Tano is here, too?"
"Yup, I'm here." Tano appeared around the corner of the item shop.
Chris frowned. "Where did you come from? Have you been there the whole time?"
Tano shook his head. "No." The fourteen-year old replied, frowning right back. "I escaped when Aunt Raine pushed Dad into the pond."
"Hey, where's Uncle Zelos?" Leilani asked suddenly. "I assumed he would be here with you. And Aunt Sheena, too."
"Ah, they're making preperations along with your Dad for Meltokio's festival." Her friend replied, sweeping his raven-colored bangs off his forehead. "Man, it's hot out today."
Leilani set her basket down near the fence. "It sure is. We should escape to Flanoir or something. Then we wouldn't be hot anymore." She said with a smile.
"It's too cold there."
"You're such a baby, Christopher Wilder." The girl growled. "Make up your mind. What do you want?"
Chris folded his arms and shook his head. "I want to get out of here." He replied. "But that would be difficult. Professor Sage is making her rounds around the village. We'd need somewhere close to hide."
"How about the Iselia forest?" Tano suggested. "It's close to Lani's house if we need to hide."
"That's perfect!" Chris agreed. "Now all we need to do is sneak away without Professor Sage catching us..." He crept over to the shop and peered out around it. Raine was resting nearby under the shade of a tree. "It looks like she's asleep..."
Leilani tiptoed up next to him. "Really?..." Sure enough, Raine was sitting quietly in the shade of a tree, eyes closed. "Uh, I don't think she's asleep..." Chris ignored her and started walking towards the south entrance gate to Iselia.
"Wait for us!" Tano cried softly, following. Leilani sighed in defeat and trailed behind the two.
Chris reached the south gate, and turned to them, a smug grin on his face as they caught up to him. "You see? I told you she was asle--"
"...And just where do you think you three are going?!" Raine stood behind them, arms folded, her foot tapping quickly on the dirt path. Her blue eyes sparked with anger as she glared at them.
"Uh!" Leilani took a step backwards. "Uh-oh!"
Chris grabbed her hand. "Run!" He cried. The trio took off through the gate, heading for the south entrance. They could hear shouting behind them--it sounded like Raine was really mad! Tano looked behind them and gasped when he saw his Aunt on their tail. "She's coming after us! And she's incredibly fast!"
"We're not going to get out of here!" Leilani thought for a moment. "Unless!..." She put two fingers in her mouth and whistled. There was shouting again, and a pink and white streak came running up beside them.
"Samara!" Chris and Tano cried in unison.
Leilani swiftly jumped on and held out a hand. "Quickly! Get on!" Her friend nodded, grabbing ahold, pulling Tano on with him. Samara, picked up speed as soon as she felt everyone was safely on her. Leilani lowered her head between her dog's large ears, urging her to go faster. She did, flying swiftly and quickly out the South entrance and toward the Iselia Forest.
They had escaped.

Sorry about the shortness and slowness of it. Stuff will start to pick up more next chapter, I promise. I'm working on it right now and it's just about half done. I'll post it soon!

Whoa, really? O_o

I'm going to do describe them, don't worry. I was just taught never to add too much description at once. Glad you like it. I'm currently editing/revising Chapter Two. It'll be up within the next few days. (It's easier for me to write now thanks to my Creative Writing class. We did a whole unit on story/novel-writing. Thank you Mr. Sage.)

(Yes, my teacher's name is Mr. Sage. No, he's not related to Raine Sage. XD )
