When Sin had woken up this morning everything was covered in a thick layer of snow. It was late this year he noted as he had stretched out and shook the sleep from his head. It made the day seem more magical somehow, though he felt plenty of magic without it. It was a special day and he was going to spend it with his favorite person. He felt a slight twinge of guilt at his happiness, considering his first mate had left him. He was strangely comforted by her disappearance, an affirmation that their relationship had drifted apart. He hoped she was well. He shook his head again to clear it and focus on what was at hand. Today was not for the past. Today was for the future and Sin’s future involved Disaster in the best way possible.
The day went by fast, he spent it clearing the snow and prepping a nice comfortable area for the two of them to enjoy the coming of the new year. He wanted it all to be perfect. He lit fires, hung decorations, cleared snow and put down blankets. The trees helped keep the warmth of the fires contained, making a lovely warm spot to ring in the new year.
She was meant to arrive soon, and he nervously waited for her to arrive.

Disaster shook the fresh snow from her mane as her red eyes took in the surroundings. Never in one place long, she still felt a slight melancholy for this one. For this was where the absol had met her mate. Sharp fangs exposed as she thought of the umbreon. Fate had brought Sin to her and her heart palpated with pleasure at the memories. Said mate was currently at their new home, well new to her. Home, a snort escaped her as she turned to trudge through the thick snow. Disaster hardly knew what the word meant but still felt a thrill about learning it. Her life had been unkind to the female, especially given her status as a shifter. She shook her head again. This time clearing it of the past.
Her pace quickened as she moved toward her future. The trek had been quick and soon she found herself looking at the territory that is home. Another smile tugged at her mouth as she welcomed the sight. It broadened as red eyes landed on Sin waiting for her. Slowly Disaster lessened her pace as she came to stand before the male, the smile holding firm on her face. 200/750

He watched her approach with a soft smile, wistfully recalling their courtship. He never would have guessed he’d end up with a shifter. He hadn’t thought himself capable of getting over his previous who left. He had thought his heart had gone with her, closing himself off to the idea of love. But in crept the enigmatic Disaster, beautiful and powerful. She grew near him and he felt the warmth of her nearness even with the fires around them. He wrapped his long tail around her affectionately as he greeted her.
“I’m so glad you could meet me! I heard this spot here is supposed to show the aurora! I thought we could spend the evening here taking in the view… and each other.” He flashed a mischievous grin. He felt positively playful, a miracle to him as he thought his heart would forever be dead. Disaster had quickened it again, bringing light and laughter and love back into his life. He could hardly wish for more.
“My sweet Disaster,” He chuckled at the idea of his mate being anything but a blessing. “Will you do me the honor of your company tonight?” He swept a bow charmingly, glowing eyes held by hers.

When Sin had wrapped his tail around her, she had shifted to snuggle against it’s warmth. Before it was gone his words of the aurora and the view caused a deep chuckle to rumble from her. Her gaze while still warm also matched his mischievousness. After a short pause she nodded to his charming way of asking her to spend this night together. One of the things Disaster enjoyed most about her mate was his ability to communicate without pressuring her to talk as well. Years of disuse had left her voice raspy and it was easier for her to communicate with grunts or signals.
Yes he really was the light of her life. She moved closer to him as she looked around the cozily decorated clearing. It was stunning, the perfect place to welcome their new life together alongside the new year. The blankets in particular looked inviting as she met his gaze again with softness in her own. 360/750
