Performing
Ria loves performing--whether acting on stage, going to karaoke with friends, or simply dancing the night away, Ria loves it all! For her, it feels liberating to express herself so completely in a way that transcends simple ideas or words on a page, while also entertaining the people around her. Favorite things to do are Broadway musicals, gag-dubbing anime, karaoke, tap dancing, and Latin ballroom dancing. Ria has aspirations of being a voice actress and stage musical actress, even if she never performs on the Great White Way.

Cosplay
Ria started going to anime and Comic-con conventions with friends in middle school, and fell instantly in love with the wild and wonderful world of cosplay! For her, it's performance, self-expression, fandom, and amazing costumes all rolled up into one fantastic package, and she has an array of different cosplays in her closet back in Fresno that she's slowly having shipped to Destiny City. Loves doing strong female leads of any type, and shining a spotlight on stories and characters that need more love. Favorite events to participate in at conventions are cosplay games, or other games, because those inevitably wind up creating a lot of memories for everyone involved.

Mahou Shoujo and Female Superheroes
Ria has early memories of catching anime and Saturday morning cartoons with heroines who fought evil and saved the day (often looking fabbu doing it!), not letting the odds, or the judgments of other people, get her down. And those fictional girls and women have become inspirational for Ria, to be kind, to be caring, to be strong, to be herself, to not be afraid of those things. She has a collection of female superhero comics and mahou shoujo manga, and loves cosplaying those characters, hoping that, whether she someday gets to play someone like her heroines professionally, or even just gets to perform in cosplay at a con, she can help other people like her find the heroes that inspire them to go out and do good in the world.

Event Organization
Ria loves organizing events--birthday parties, fiestas, quinceañeras, conventions, school events--if it ends in fun, she wants to help make it special for everyone involved! For her, it's very much about making the event as fun and memorable and special as it can possibly be. While this often means doing things that are boring backstage minutiae, or spending a lot of time on a project for little to no recognition, it's still a meaningful use of her time, because, for Ria, it's all about bringing joy to the hearts and minds of the people around her, from the star of the show, all the way to the people who do all the hard work of making everything happen, and, always, for the audience, as well, because, without the enthusiasm of the audience, without the hard work of the backstage, without the glitz and glamor of the stage itself, you do NOT have a show, and everyone matters just as much!

Virtues:

Loving
Ria is a loving person. The people close to her mean the world to her, flaws and all, and she tends to be pretty outwardly affectionate. Hugs, small kisses on the cheek, a warm greeting, a quick question how things are going with a loved one who's been having a difficult time lately--Ria is someone who lets those she loves know how deeply her affections go, and doesn't like to leave her loved ones hanging in doubt!

Generous
Ria's also pretty kind, even to people she's not super close to. Sharing is caring, and giving is equally important. Whether it's time, support, advice, assistance, or something more tangible, Ria can't say no to a person who needs something she can give!

Hard-Working
Ria's a hard worker. She's had to be; growing up as the child of farmers in Fresno, California, with dreams of making it big as a star of stage and voice recording booth, and plans to go to college, she knew she wasn't going to get what she wanted by waiting for a wishing star to fix things for her. Whatever she needs to do, Ria gives her all.

Down-to-Earth
One would expect an aspiring performer to be airy-fairy, head-in-the-clouds, but that is not Ria. At the end of the day, everyone's a person, with their own dreams and aspirations, their own reasons for doing what they do, even if it's a horrible reason, or a destructive thing to do. She's a pretty practical and reasonable person, and aims to tailor her generosity in practical and helpful directions.

Flaws:

Puts Others First
Ria, in her efforts to help those around her, tends to put others first, often to her own detriment. She is very keenly aware of the needs of others, and feels that she has been so fortunate to have what she does have, that it wouldn't be right or fair to focus on herself when someone else needs something. This has mostly meant lost opportunities that made her feel disappointed that she didn't go for it, or wonder what could have been if she hadn't tried to be a good friend or daughter or coworker or classmate, whether it be the people she had crushes on that her friends were also crushing on, or the signings she missed at conventions because someone else really, really wanted to go to a panel that occurred at the same time, or the fact that she very nearly missed out on going to college, Ria's missed opportunities haunt her when her spirits are low.

Indecisive
With as many things as Ria's working on at any given time, it's hard to figure out what she wants for herself. Which cosplay to prioritize, which role to audition for, what to eat for dinner? Sure, it's easy to stick to what she's already got on hand or done before, but Ria doesn't want to restrict herself like that. Once she's made a decision, she'll pursue her vision, it's just choosing where to apportion her energies that's hard!

Persistent
Ria is a persistent person, driven and willing to see things through, even when others pull back. Where this is great for pushing through a difficult situation backstage, this isn't great when she has her heart set on something that involves another person. She's driven away a couple of significant others on the basis of "Doesn't want to take 'No,' or 'That's just not possible,' or 'I know you want to believe I can do this, but I legitimately think I am incapable' for an answer."

Perfectionist
With so many plates in the air and a strong personality that cares very passionately, it should come as no surprise that Ria's a bit of a perfectionist. While she won't turn away from something that can't be done perfectly, she won't accept praise, either, and will work herself to the bone to do better next time, putting her and those around her at greater risk of burnout.
