                                                        MIRABELLA ☀ ROUSSEAU
                                                        DUCHESS OF ALORE

Mirabella was feeling...good as of late. Good in a way that she hadn't felt in a very long time. That her body had shown itself consistently to be back in full fighting form was a relief. While she knew that a second go-round of her pushing her abilities past their natural limits would likely end up in greater consequences than the first, it was something she was glad to have in her back pocket should she ever need that kind of power again. Getting the opportunity to do battle with the departed had weirdly brightened her mood as well. There was just something so satisfying about getting to use her war hammer on enemies that replenished their numbers without fail. Marie should really thank Ponyboy for his services; she would certainly be saving a good deal on training dummies from now on. Of course, Mirabella still broke a few of them from time to time. But at least now it was only when she intended to.

That being said, there was trouble in this false paradise. While her chosen had been doing quite well for themselves, and Alkmene continued to treat Avira fairly, her long-standing rivals were showing deeply concerning behavior. Usually Mirabella would be able to hear Bonita's ever-grating giggles throughout the halls. Every day, somewhere and someway, her eternal rival would be having the time of her life. Or at least trying to. A just reward for all the work she had put in during the forever war. Lately, however, the cacophony of noise that permeated the halls had lost that particular chaotic edge. Something was amiss. As for her other adversary from her days as a soldier, the great tactician had doubled down on her bad habits. Siding with Shahitian filth was detestable enough, let alone likely trading spit with one of them, but a recent run-in with another of Xenia's apparent boy toys gave the duchess of light even further concerns.

                                                        Something had to be done.

Taking a page from both the giantess's and her own book, Mirabella sent them both letters in the morning with a small bouquet of the finest Aloran flowers. Written in them were instructions to put on their Sunday best and arrive at the school's entrance come midday so that they might travel to one of the nearby towns. While they may have had differing worldviews overall, Mirabella could at least rely on her fellow sisters of battle to not give a hot s**t about such frivolous issues as classroom attendance. Arriving shortly before afternoon and ensuring their wagon was ready to depart when her contemporaries arrived, Mirabella would gaze up above to take glances at her glorious patron star as she shone brightly up above. Although the chill of winter began to creep its way into the elements below, Mother Sun's radiant warmth could never be truly denied. Hopefully Bonita and Xenia knew that neither would she. After all, Mirabella had made it abundantly clear that if they did not come today then she would come after them. Lovingly, of course, but also with her greatsword if need be.

That being said, Mirabella would still travel if they didn't show. As she detailed in the letter, the duchess of light had her own reasons for going to the towns. This wretched academy continued to mock her with cheap, unbranded liquor as punishment for her constant breaking of their worthless rules. Her chosen did their best work to try and acquire better spirits for her, but Mirabella would only push them so far. As much as she despised this false nation, it had become clear to her that the three of them found safe haven nonetheless; she would not take that from them. Still, she could not stand wine that even peasantry would balk at any longer. And if it was worth less than the cheapest moonshine, that meant that the local pubs and the like would hopefully have stuff that was at least better than the piss she'd been getting here. Today they had the opportunity to be winners one and all. They merely needed to choose to do so.

LOCATION: Her dorm - Front Entrance xxx COMPANY: No one - Bells xxx CLOTHING: Xena’s outfit

"Speaking #7900ac""Thinking #7900ac"

As time passed for her within the walls of the academy, Xena felt herself growing more and more concerned for the world as a whole. Was this really the best the other kingdoms could come up with for nobles and royals? In the months she’d been there, she’d met prissy women, irritating men, and quite a few she’d much rather deck in the face than actually waste her breath on. Had it not been for the interesting run in with a certain tortured hero, and her ever wonderful Ducky, she would surely have just turned her a** around and left after the first day. Of course, that didn’t stop her from reconsidering every time she was forced to sit in a class with the lot of them and listen to the grating sounds of their voices.

Thankfully, there was one more shining light within the darkness that was her stay at the academy. A former frienemy from the war, a woman that had put her on her a** more times than even she was willing to admit. Mirabella Rousseau. She had been overjoyed at the realization that her former rival was at Utopia. It had been a while since she’d had herself a good fight, and if there was anyone that could give it to her it was Bells. And there was no one that she’d met that could drink her under the table as skillfully, a feat no man had been able to accomplish yet either.

So when she’d gotten a letter talking about a night out on the town with her and another, she was more than happy to join. She told Graham she’d be out with friends, to which he’d given her a knowing look. The man was too worrisome, it was adorable! A few kisses, some reassurances that it was just Bells, and he let the subject go. Now, getting dressed, she wondered if she could convince him to go out with her one of these nights. Not that she didn’t mind their time spent within his personal selection and the king sized bed he had in his dorm. It would just be nice to get a new change of scenery. For them both, Xena mused as she ran a brush through her hair quickly and finished dressing for the outing.

It didn’t take her long to get to where they’d been asked to meet, spotting Bella as she rounded the final corner. A delighted grin curled up her lips as she picked up the pace, tucking her hands into the pockets of her leather jacket as she moved. The letter had told her to dress in her ‘sunday best’, whatever that was, but it seemed she had missed the point. The outfit her companion had chosen was a hard contrast against the one she had thrown on. And did she have to make it such a bright choice? Xena knew she was a fighter of the Mother Sun and all that, but jeez! They were going to stand out like a sore thumb with Bells decked out in that!

”Seriously, Bells? Do you not own something without a cape? Please tell me you aren’t taking us to some bougie wine tasting place! You know that stuff makes me want to yak.” All the while she complained, a look of wicked amusement danced through her bright blue eyes. Yes, Xena did hate the stuffy drinks that her companion usually chose to enjoy. Would she turn down the idea of free alcohol? No. Was she still going to complain? Yeah, but that was mostly to get a rise out of her friend.

”It’s good to see you, stranger.” Giving in to the urge, she stepped in and gave the other woman a quick squeeze before stepping back to give her space. She knew the stoic warrior wasn’t the most emotional, but it was hard not to be happy to see her. It had been far too long, something she was glad they were remedying that very evening. ”I take it we’re still waiting on our third?”

The last thing in the world that Bonnie wanted to do was go out. For the last month and a half all she had known was the twisting fear of the future. Terrifying, but one full of so much hope. All of the happiness she didn't realize she wanted. And then, within the last week everything had shattered like the glass trinkets she loved so much. As if the end of the war necessitated some sort of immense sacrifice from her.

But also Bella was a b***h (affectionate). One that she fully believed would march right into Bonnie's dorm, grasp her by the hair, and drag her out of her wallowing if she didn't show up for whatever sorry show she was trying to put on. The only upside was that she was being asked to dress up. Which meant she likely wouldn't be fighting. Not that Bonnie did much dressing up. The most she could manage was a pair of leggings, some flats, and a snow themed sweater dress. She didn't own much black. And even in mourning, she still really ******** loved a theme. So dressing like winter itself felt at least somewhat fitting.

Goddess above she needed to get some moodier clothes.

Her arms were wrapped protectively around her chest as she made her way out to the meeting spot Bella's stupid note had told her to be at. Only to find the other two women already here. "Lucky for you, you don't have to wait that long. Yipee." The dark haired woman wasn't one Bonnie was familiar with, and it made the stones in her stomach even heavier. Great. Now she was going to look like a hormonal freak show in front of someone new. At least before when she would cry to look like the victim it was fun. A harmless prank. Now it was something vulnerable. Maybe this should have been a fighting thing. Her eyes narrowed on Bella, as if glaring at her would make any of this make sense. "Where are you planning on dragging us?"

                                                                ▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬▬

                                                        MIRABELLA ☀ ROUSSEAU
                                                        DUCHESS OF ALORE

Concernedly, it was Xenia that first arrived on the scene. Not that Mirabella knew much about the Warrior Princess's sense of punctuality, what with having primarily met on the fields of conquest prior, but that there was yet to be a Bonita in sight was the real issue. Although now that I think about it, the same could be said for the bubble bandit. Still, I can't help but feel...troubled. For now, however, she would focus her attention on the knife-obsessed "barbarian" before her. Thankfully, that wasn't difficult when in the company of someone like Xenia, who went to take a stab at Mirabella the second she got within snarking distance.

”Seriously, Bells? Do you not own something without a cape? Please tell me you aren’t taking us to some bougie wine tasting place! You know that stuff makes me want to yak.”

A fitting greeting, which elicited a sharp laugh from Mirabella's lips. The wicked smile on the Martian princess's face made her words come across as a challenge, one which Mirabella gladly accepted. "Remind me to brush up on commoner chic sometime, then," the duchess snarked, standing tall before the princess as she continued her approach. Xenia was a terror during the war, decimating entire squadrons on her own. Having countermeasures for anything thrown at her in an instant, she was a real pain in the a** to take down. And if she had soldiers beside her that she could amplify with her abilities? They would be a nigh-unstoppable force on the battlefield. But not completely. Not when you were dealing with...Mirabella Rousseau, whose eyebrows furrowed at the thought of her prior nom de guerre.

So perturbed was Mirabella that she hadn't noticed Xenia's arms latch onto her until it was too late. ”It’s good to see you, stranger.” Her body tensed, though not from the gesture itself. Under normal circumstances, the duchess would have no qualms with her former enemy's embrace. While the war pitted them against one another, vying for that final, grand victory for their respective kingdoms, there was a respect Mirabella gained for the menace before her through their mutual ferocity. The now genuine smile on Xenia's face confirmed as such, with the duchess responding in kind with a grin of her own. "Likewise, fellow loudmouth," bantered Mirabella warmly.

”I take it we’re still waiting on our third?”

Scarlet eyes immediately left Xenia's side to scan out around them. Still nowhere in sight...no, this feels off. Being fashionably late was one thing. Being extra, which was Bonita's calling card, was another. However, there was no sense of theatrics here. Just a dull, sullen absence. Mirabella's expression soured. "It seems that way, yes. And no, there will be no 'wine tasting'. Clearly such delights would be wasted on you," she hummed, the aftertaste of her tone tinged with worry. While fully willing to march down to the sea-faring duchess's room and throw her out if need be, she genuinely hoped that it wouldn't come to that. Alas, it was beginning to look like such extremes were exactly what were needed. But it wouldn't be all bad. It'd give her an excuse to use the war hammer on a living person; hadn't gotten the chance to do that in a while. How unfortunate it was that Bonita finally showed when Mirabella was just getting excited to use force to bring her here.

"Lucky for you, you don't have to wait that long. Yipee."

Thank Mother. Mirabella watched with bated breath as Bonita approached, most of her concerns eased by the duchess of water's presence. Not all of them, though. There was a noticeable lack of spring to Bonita's step. Even on bad days, she would normally try to play it off. On top of that, her choice of dress was disturbingly plain for someone who once wore the frilliest outfits imaginable into battle. Damn, it's even worse than I thought. She would shoot a glare Mirabella's way as she neared, which the duchess of light found troubling. Not the act itself, mind you; they'd given each other worse looks by far over the course of the war. But there was an absence in Bonita's eyes that hollowed her expression. And for as much of a fake b***h Bonita could be, Mirabella felt deep in her heart that this wasn't one of her rival's usual tricks.

"É bom ver você," Mirabella said carefully, wishing not to misspeak but still deadly focused on any sign as to what might have hurt Bonita so deeply. Was it physical? Emotional? If that blonde manchild is the cause of this, a traitor to Radiant Alore might not be my first kill at this school after all. Whatever the case, the duchess of light was determined to get Bonita out of her rut. Xenia as well. Mirabella's perturbed knock-off would ask of their destination, to which the Aloran duchess first responded with a slight tilt of her head and a soft smirk. "Does that mean dragging will be necessary after all? Don't tempt a girl with a good time, Bonita," began the duchess of light as she brought her arms together with a loose grip.

Mirabella would go on to take a step forward, standing right between Xenia and Bonita. "But to answer your question, my chosen have described to me an adequate enough tavern in a town nearby. Apparently their spirits are meant to rival those from proper nations, so I imagine we won't vomit from a taste at the very least." She then shot Xenia a sly look. "Good piss water as well, your highness." Mirabella would go on to clasp her hands together, her tone getting sterner as she continued. "Moreover, consider this a check-in for the both of you. So as we revel, know that I'll be doing my best to help get you both back to the top of your game. After all, there are still more fierce battles between us to be had. Yes?" Peacetime or not, combat was their true common tongue, and Mirabella wished for a great number of dialogues between them. Turning around, she took a step onto the carriage and opened the door for them to enter.

"Now get in, losers. We're going partying."

LOCATION: Front Entrance - Bell's carriage xxx COMPANY: Bells and Bonnie xxx CLOTHING: Xena’s outfit

"Speaking #7900ac""Thinking #7900ac"

Had it been anyone else that had spoken to her in such a way, Xena would have happily introduced them to the pointy end of her blade. Since it was Bella, she let it slide and simply laughed softly in response. What she didn’t let go of was the stiffness in which her hug was given. A confused look passed over her features for a moment before she quickly pulled her expression back into place. Had she misstepped? Or was there something going on in her companion’s head that she was unaware of? Whatever the case might have been, she made a mental note to keep a sharp eye on things and chuckled softly at the name she was given.

The shift in Mirabella’s tone had concern registering in her head. Should she even be here? Was this going to be some kind of intervention thing for a person Xena didn’t know? Definitely not okay with that thought, she opened her mouth to speak up but was silenced by the presence of their third. Bright eyes ran over the other woman, having seen her in class a time or two but having no knowledge of her beside that. Irritation, and a bit of jealousy, washed over her as she crossed her arms over her chest. Yeah, something was definitely up, Bell’s reaction to the woman giving her all the info she needed.

”Yipee indeed.” She grumbled the words under her breath as Bells began to speak, her gaze never leaving the newcomer. It wasn’t until her friend turned her attention to her completely that Xena snapped out of her scowl, her eyes widening a bit at the title she used. If Bells was comfortable speaking like that in front of this new woman, they had to be close. Or, close enough to not warrant the need for secrets at least. Not sure how to feel about that, she simply rolled her eyes in true regal form and followed her companion as she spouted off about battles and reveling.

”I don’t understand how getting smashed with you will put me ‘back on the top of my game’, but whatever. Free booze is free booze.” With that said, she climbed up into the carriage and sat herself against the opposing wall. She returned her arms to their former positions, leaning into the cushion at her back as she waited for the others to join her. Xena hadn’t the slightest clue as to what Bells was up to, but she did her best not to dwell on it. She was going to get drunk, maybe start a fight, then go and find her Ducky to burn the calories off with. Win-win in her book.
