"Speaking." 'Thoughts.'

At the rate at which Riven was going, the duchess was considering a job in law enforcement and giving up on love entirely. She hoped in an academy full of eligible suitors that one of them might lay eyes on her for a change, but most times it was her attempting to save them from themselves, and today was no different. Another day, another cute boy, unknown to potential danger. At least this one was rather simple. The fit man was just lost in Utopia, nothing to be embarrassed about, but Riven would have preferred meeting this person in a more stereotypical way, like she had read about in her stories.

Where were all the balls and weddings she was promised?

There had only been one wedding so far, and from what Riven had understood, that ceremony was more drama than it was about the promises to commit to one another. But Riven couldn’t definitely say as she wasn’t in attendance. Without Addie’s reassurance, it was hard for her to make such choices. If she had gone alone, there was the chance of her embarrassing herself even further. The only time she didn’t ask for that reassurance was when it came to cute boys.

Then it was time to follow her heart.

Scanning the hallways, they were looking familiar to those she had seen in her dream. The portrait hall was easy to get lost in, given how many of the portraits tended to look the same. Riven had sworn there were duplicates, but Addie had assured her that was not the case. And despite what her art group tried to tell her, Lady Adelaide was never wrong. She said so herself. Who was Riven to correct her?

Looking ahead, she spotted a man ahead, ' He doesn’t look too lost. Just focused.' Was it possible her vision was wrong? It wouldn’t be the first time. The issue with her dreams was that they were difficult for her to fully predict if she awoke too early, but she was here now; it would be strange of her to say nothing and run the risk of him thinking she had followed him here. " Excuse me sir?" Her voice squeaked slightly as she attempted to interrupt the man’s cycle of thought, " Might there be something you are looking for?" She offered a kind smile as she spoke, nervous to be too forward about her intentions.

Okay, he was definitely lost now. Quintus Stormhold has spent the last few weeks trying to memorize the layout of Utopia Academy. The place was freaking HUGE, so it made sense for him to try and get it all figured out. Whether it was the path to class, or the route that would take him to the dining hall. All of it was necessary for his day to day life within the walls of the school. The only problem? None of it seemed to be sticking! No matter how many times he tried, he always found himself stuck in a random hallway that led him to somewhere he hadn’t meant to go. It was a miracle he hadn’t gotten lost completely. Until now, of course.

Annoyed with himself, and the situation, Quin dragged a hand through his dark hair and scanned the area. There were portraits…Of people he didn’t recognize. Shouldn’t he know these faces by now? He was more than certain he’d traveled down this very hall on more than one occasion. So he should know exactly where he was going…Right? Growling softly under his breath, he shook his head and turned to try and find something, anything, that triggered his brain into remembering where he was.

The sound of a voice broke his inner musings and had his gaze towards the owner. It was a girl. She looked too well dressed to be a member of the staff, considering most of them seemed to be dressed in a similar fashion. Or, the ones he’d met were, anyway. But she didn’t strike him as unapproachable, especially since she was, in fact, approaching him. Quin did his best to put a smile on his face, not wanting to scare her as a hand lifted to rub the back of his neck sheepishly.

”Actually, yes. I was hoping to find the library, but then I got hungry and was gonna try for the dining hall. Then I…” His stomach chose that moment to growl and interrupt him, reminding him that it had been more than five hours since he’d eaten. It wasn’t a completely unusual thing, but after spending so much time at Utopia he had gotten used to having delicious food readily available. Maybe he should be writing down the locations of everything so he didn’t actually end up dying of starvation in a random hallway.

”My apologies, Miss. I have been walking around for a while now…” His features tinted a soft shade of pink as embarrassment began to stir within him. He had no idea how to talk to ladies, especially ones as cute as the young woman standing before him right now.

Location: Random hallway? Company: Pretty girl Outfit: Quin’s outfit Thoughts: “Gods, I should’ve grabbed a snack from my dorm…”
