                                Tuesday at Noon.

Seraphina sat at a table in one of the many quiet sitting rooms around the school. She had tried to set up a time for her and some of her new friends to meet and have tea. She had been excited about the networking opportunity and maybe a chance to farm for gossip. She had even switched out her everyday red and black outfits for something more fitting for the theme, a blue dress with white ribbons.

Phina had worked for hours with the staff to fill the room with roses and perfectly created sandwiches. She had meticulously handpicked four tea varieties for the girls to indulge in, each with their pastry pairing. Hours of work and all that was to show for her was a cute scene with a few staff members looking around like she might explode if nobody showed up soon.

Granted, they had every right to be scared. When Phina showed up two hours before tea time, she yelled at at least one, saying that the palate was off and each tea set had been handpicked for the three people to join her. She was going for the perfect setting to gain knowledge and learn more about her classmates, but none had shown up.

Slowly, she looked down at her watch, wondering if one of them would walk in, fifteen minutes late if the clocks were to be believed, but it was looking less likely by every passing second.

However, a flash of yellow hair started to move past the room. Phina wouldn't let such a spread go to waste, so she was on her feet in seconds. Her heels clicked against the ground as she called down the hallway to the blonde, "Hey, do you have time to join me for tea?"

Seraphina was typically above such invitations, but she didn't want the staff to think she was a friendless loser, even if it was starting to look like that. After all, it was all over once the staff began to talk. The maids spread news faster than any messenger in the war. Honestly, she had suggested they implement a maid brigade to their war efforts for more information, one that her father had laughed her out of the room for. Granted, Seraphina always supplied her maids with plenty of chocolate and time off, hoping that information might be slipped to her first.

Phina watched the boy slowly turn to her, and she nodded once. "Yes, you. There is plenty of food, and it seems like none of my... friends... told me they had plans today. Sit, join me, tell me about yourself, so this afternoon isn't a waste of time."

Seraphina sat back down at the table and crossed her ankles while waiting to see if the boy had decided to join her. She wasn't even sure of the name of the man she had offered a seat at her table to, but it didn't matter as long as someone joined her for even an hour of awkward conversation that was better than nothing. When he entered the room, she smiled at the man, picking up her cup filled with lemon tea with just a little bit of honey.

"I'm Seraphina, but call me Phina. Tell me, what's your name? Oh, and do help yourself, it doesn't appear that anyone else is joining us." Seraphina pointed at the spread before taking a drink to look over the man across from her. Derpy smile, but cute blonde hair. She could have done worse, so hopefully he would be fun to talk to.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
Noon was the time for lunch. Stefano lumbered down the hallway towards the dining hall, thinking about what was on today’s menu. Normally on Tuesdays, it was Mars cuisine, which consisted of many varieties of meats and breads that were enough to fill him up until breakfast the next morning if he was able to get there before Sethos. The man had a habit of making it there on days Mars food was being served and devouring most of the spread.

Stefano prepared for disappointment as he looked at one of the passing clocks, noticing it was already 15 minutes past noon, which meant that the larger man probably had destroyed the food at the service table. It would be 1 until all the meats were fully restocked, which meant Stefano had plenty of time to kill. The only question was what was he to do? Bonnie had been sick that morning, and the duke wanted to visit her, but she didn’t want him in the room when she was throwing up, despite his many objections. Violetta and Farrah were both fun company but elusive to discover outside of the classroom. This led him to start wandering the halls in the hopes he might find company to help pass the time or, better yet, food.

Then, like a Goddess answering his prayers, there she was. Gorgeous as the sun was shining. Stefano pointed to himself, sure the woman was confusing him with someone else, as the two had never spoken before, only for her to reassure him. Tea wasn’t a drink he was used to consuming, but he was willing to try it if it meant speaking to this beautiful woman a bit longer. And she was even offering him food? It was like she was reading his mind or something!

                                                  How lucky was he?

Stefano followed the girl’s gestures and walked into the room. Offering a clumsy bow, Stefano lowered his head, " Stefano Gonalez, at your service." Looking back up at the gorgeous babe, he remembered seeing her in class surrounded by the Funkazan squad. Bonnie had been teaching him more about world customs and relationships, and it was serving him well already. Taking a spot at the table across from her, Stefano prepared his formal conversation skills he had been practicing.

But first, it was important to eat. The tiny cakes looked rather delicious as Stefano fought the urge to stab one with his fork and eat it whole. Contesting the urge, he moved one of the cakes gently onto his plate and took the tiniest of bites he could muster. " Oh man, that’s good." The words escaped him before he had the chance to catch them, following them with an apologetic cough. " What I meant to say was, what lovely weather we are having!" He tried to correct himself and distract from his mistake, pointing to a nearby window.

                                #24a23d - talking, native language
Seraphina watched the blonde with a raised eyebrow as he bowed to her, like a newborn deer. She tried to stifile a laugh, sipping her tea as he, Stefano, sat at her table. However, she burst into laughter when he spoke for the first time. "You don't often find yourself with the company of royals, do you, darling?"

Seraphina giggled again before grabbing a sandwich herself. She did glance at the window, humoring the man across from her. "The weather is nice, if you count cold, nice. I'm more of a desert girl myself." She leaned back, losing all facade of the Princess she was, and slipped back into her commoner personality, the one she had perfected at the manor she was raised in, with ease and comfort.

With a single tilt of her head, she inspected the man. Cute, tall, clumsy, and with an infectious smile. Phina liked him already, but wanted to break him out of his baby-deer facade, which was making him awkward. So, she leaned forward and smiled at him. "Goddess, help me." She muttered the prayer in her native tongue before talking to him in the common tongue.

"Let's play a game. I tell you about my assumptions about you, and you tell me yours about me. Whomever wins gets to pick the food served next Tuesday." She smiled, offering her hand to shake on the deal. When she pulled back, she narrowed her eyes as if she was thinking.

"Let's see. You were raised common, and promoted to your station for your efforts in the war. I would say they were your efforts, as your posture says military, but you genuinely seem too happy to have been on the front for a long time. So, I want to say it was your father's efforts, but you would be here if they were. The way you are trying so hard to appear to have manners says you probably were raised much poorer than anyone else here, and your hands are calloused for the same reason." Seraphina smiled and grabbed her tea again with a shrug. "I would also wager you are an only child. You are way too much of a people pleaser to have siblings."

Taking a drink of her tea, she shrugged. "How did I do, darling? It's your turn either way." She winked at the man, waiting to see his assumptions about her.

                                                  "Speech" 'Thoughts'
Easy to read had been something Stefano looked for in a book, but knew it wasn’t a compliment when people said it about you. Unfortunately for him, this Phina lady had been looking at him like he was more than just a snack for her to enjoy; she appeared to be breaking him apart from the moment he sat down. Bonnie had warned him of this. The Menirs had talked about how others might try to take advantage, but that didn’t appear to be the case here. The lady in front of him didn't seem like some master manipulator, just lonely.

"That easy to tell? The bosses are going to be mad at me for this one, I’m sure." Letting out a belly laugh to make sure the woman knew he was not a threat. There was no point in poking and prodding at him, as there wasn’t much there to poke at besides muscle and fat. It wasn’t like Stefano was some Godly Duke that women were trying to sink their teeth into. The king had sent him here for two reasons: 1. To watch Sonia and Pascha, and 2. To learn his duties as a duke. So far, the first task appeared to be much easier than the latter.

Stefano’s eyebrow arched at the mention of next Tuesday, confirming his suspicions that this woman was of no danger to him. " Doesn’t seem fair to me, I win either way because I get to go on a date with a ba-maiden as pretty as you." He beamed before taking another bite of the delicious cakes in front of him once more. There was a sense of pride that filled him at the fact that he had remembered that hot babes weren’t “babes”, they were maidens. Yes, he was holding up just fine.

The confidence he had gained was quickly squashed as she was able to pick apart his very being once more with her game. Stefano didn’t really understand the point of it as he knew very little about her. " Ha ha, you got me again! Well, mostly." With such an accurate read, was it even worth him wagering a guess? The risk ran higher of him potentially embarrassing himself and his country further if he did, but if he didn’t play along, there was the chance Phina would never want to talk to him again.

Was the purpose of games to have fun? Stefano didn’t know has many of the games he played were of the adult variety, but he remembered watching his classmates play together in the school yard and enjoy themselves. Even when they were tormenting him, they appeared to be rather pleased with themselves. "Well, I suppose it’s my turn." Shifting his lips as he wondered what he should say next. " You are beautiful and lovely, which I am sure you are well aware of. But it’s not my approval you’re after."

Looking at the woman, Stefano wasn’t sure if he was right or not. But no woman would just set up something as big as this for no reason. Maybe there was a man she was waiting on, one who failed to show. It made sense why she was so excited to see Stefano. Two lonely hearts finding comfort in one another. " I’m sure whoever it is knows he is an idiot who is making you feel so lonely you invited a stranger like me to join you." Ah. That wasn’t what he had meant to say at all. " His loss is my gain, I guess." Stefano shrugged as he gave a reassuring smile to the lady before him, before grabbing a napkin to wipe his face.
