Chiara had been getting cooler as of late, and because of that she wrapped up in her cloak that she had brought with her. Alore was a warmer kingdom, being that the kingdom of light and all. So, the chilly weather wasn't her strong suit. She had found herself feeling a little lost, a little lonely, and so she decided to go out for a walk. She had her arms tucked inside, holding the edges of the fabric with her bare hands. Her hair was tied back in a loose braid as she came across one of the gazebos that she had found when previously looking for a spot to go to when they made their painting in art class. She settled onto the seat, her hands resting on her lap as she curled her feet in slightly, head lifted to look up at the sky. She frowned, recalling how her slip up with words on day one had angered Clint, although she didn't know exactly why. She chewed at her lip, hands tightening on the white fur as she wondered what she could have said. He had suddenly become so cold that she didn't know what to do and by the time she knew it, he'd left. She didn't say much after that, especially since the other man arrived, his outlook on the war much darker than anything she was comfortable commenting on. She felt like she was thrown right back to step one, dealing with conflict and watching her words. She was never good at it, but she knew that if she were to keep going on this route like she was meant to, she'd have to deal with conflict more than she was already used to.
She ran her hand through her hair and closed her eyes as she leaned back against the seat and slid down slightly, so that her head could rest on the back of it. ' Chiara, focus. You need to keep up the lessons! What if he was someone who could have been an ally and you've already messed up?' she thought to herself, her lips still pulled down in a frown before she opened her eyes and stared up at the slats on the peaked ceiling of the building. She breathed out deeply, rising her hands up and she ran them down her face. She had seen Brittany too, although she ducked out of sight before her sister had the chance to spot her. It shouldn't be a big deal for her to speak to her sister now, but after the engagement with Graham things had taken a turn for the worse. She was always still kind to her face, but she could see that to an extent she expected to deserve more than Chiara herself.
There was a reason she wasn't looking forward to introducing Uriel to her, although she knew there was no way around it.
She heard footsteps nearby, and before she was able to look there was a yell. Her eyes widened and she looked over towards where one of the servants sat on the ground and held their ankle. She didn't think as she stood up and moved over quickly, crouching down next to them as they protested her doing so. " Oh no! What's the matter? Did you hurt yourself on--?" she heard her own words cutting off as she looked down and saw a hole in the ground where a rock had once been. It clicked in her head; he twisted his ankle or worse. She smiled apologetically to the man before she reached back up and pulled the ribbon from her braid. " Let me help, and then if it still hurts, I believe we have a nurse and doctor on site." she had, thankfully, not needed either of them yet as she was able to manage all of her personal injuries but she knew that would change soon enough. The boy began to protest but she gave him a reassuring smile, and he faltered, only looking way now and letting her do what she could.
She turned her head, hair falling down over her shoulder as she ran her hands over it, stretching the partially wavy strands until she wrapped her hair around his ankle and she closed her eyes. She began to hum softly at first, before she softly sang the first tune that came to mind. She ignored the fact that she could feel his eyes on her, and a tingling at her scalp made her aware that it was working. Her hair glowed with a shimmer that reflected the light in different colors. It started at her head and spread down the longer she sang, the pain from the boy's ankle slowly fading before it disappeared entirely. She finished the song, slowly opening her eyes again as she smiled at him, and he looked at her shocked before she pressed a finger to her lips. " Our little secret?" once he got over the initial surprise he nodded, getting to his feet before pausing only a moment, and then running off to his original task. She stood, dusting off the light fabric of her dress before she brushed her hair back again and began to re-braid it loosely. Oblivious to the fact that someone else had seen her, and she wasn't alone even now.
