People had seen stranger things than some guy taking out his snake for a short walk. See, when he was a teenager it was a lot more appealing to just let Cu Sith slitter free, but considering the attention it brings (even if he was a sucker for it more of the time), it was generally a lot more safer when letting cu sith rest in a bag.

She was generally calm and behaved while she was taken out and into public. Hanako didn't even remember the last time she bit someone. Perhaps she picked up general cowardice from her owner. He remembered more times where she just seemed distraught over someone too near her. But even then, over the years she seemed a lot more used to people sometimes freaking out at her.

It was entirely unnecessary. Almost like taking your pet turtle out for a walk. They weren't dogs , and it wasn't particularly necessary. Cu Sith didn't even have legs. She slittered. But Hanako was dramatic like that. If he were to take a walk, then why not Cu Sith. He couldn't read her mind, even after all these years of taking care of her. But any company is good company, no?

And it was particulary good company when he walked on days where he felt like he just wanted to be alone

He had all the speaking skills and blatant - often shameless - confidence to get people talking to him. Well - most people. So his suddenly loneliness wasn't from a silly reason like he couldn't get someone to accompany him. He just didn't want to.

Sometimes, it's fine to convince a guy or girl you've met for 5 minutes to go on a date with you. And other times, it's fine to charge kids if they want to touch your pet snake.

It was the sort of business he wished he had done more often as a teenager, if only he wasn't preoccupied with school. He wasn't a children person, and hopefully with luck - never will have to go through the suffering of needing to care for those little suckers. But he didn't… mind their presence around. It was odd.

Perhaps he was fascinated by how openly they see the world. Generally no filter. Always speaking their minds, or being too obvious about what they were thinking. He couldnt take them seriously. And yet, they say the funniest things and react to silly to things. Like the idea that a guy is bringing his pet snake in a bag to a park was required their prime attention.

Meanwhile he had been so used to the facades he put up, he wasn't entirely sure who he really was. A dillema that most teenagers have moved on from. Or so he hopes. But perhaps he was a slow learner.

A good remedy to his boredom, he charged kids a 1$ to pet, 2$ to hold, and 5$ for absurd requests - though with the condition that he has the right to refuse service. He didn't want another case of some kid who wanted to see Cu Sith's molted skin. He entertained curious kids - or anyone really -, with his usual jest. Eventually giving their money back even after they had petted or held Cu Sith. Using ridiculous reasons like ' too many creases ' or , ' it doesn't smell right'.

He didn't stay long. An hour at most, before he slowly slid Cu Sith back in his bag, reminded the kids to stay in school and out of trouble, before walking home. Noting the lighter feeling in his chest as he did so.
