Rispah took a deep gulp of air after breaking the surface of the water, or tried to. The warm air flowing through her airways almost made her gag. How could it be this hot again? It had been a whole week of 'Normal' temperatures before yesterday. And now with today being the same, if not worse, would the cool weather ever return? Rispah frowned slightly as she languidly doggy paddled down the same river she had been traveling for what seemed liked ages now. She didn't even bother wiping the water off her face from her dripping hair as it kept her semi cool as she tried to look for noticeable landmarks,
Was that the same lightning struck tree she saw two days ago? Had she accidently forked off into a roundabout? Rispah groaned as she sunk into the water so that she blew annoyed air bubbles in the water, the thought dawning on her that she was now somehow lost. "Dangit" her garbled words flowed out into the water. "I promised the girls I would be back in a few weeks to visit and tell them about what I see." Rispah closed her eyes shut to the scenerey she now seemed to already know. "And now, if I don't find my way out of this blasted river soon, I won't be back in time." Her eyes fluttered open after the popping bubbles from her words stopped being flung back into her eyes as she swam forward. "And now I'm talking to myself too." She rolled her eyes and dove back into the water. It was unfortunately much warmer in the water of this winding river than it was in the lake her daughters lived with their mother Rispah had once spent a night with, and yet it was still cooller being in the water than out in the heat of the air.
Rispah continued down the river, mentally crossing two toes on a paw that she could find someplace she recognized soon, one that would lead her to the ocean where she could swim back to the lake her girls lived instead of mocking her.

Capricieux Was hot and not in just an attractive way, he was smoldering and too hot. He liked to spend time in the ponds and rivers in the valley but lately the ponds have been too hot to stand, like floundering in pools of pee instead water and it was miserable. He had left the warm ponds and had traveled traveled until he was not just dry but thirsty, he quickened his pace into a long gated trot to try to get to the river faster. In his pink and purple head he thought the river has to be cooler for sure!, as he only exhausted himself further and further. Finally he could smell the water, finally the trees gave way to the river and its slow winding path. He was too focused on the water to notice there was someone in the river as he made a huge leap from the bank into the river with a big splash, just a few feet in front of Rispah. KERPLOOOSSSHH!!!!
He didn’t land on her thank goodness but though the river wasn’t all that much cooler than the ponds, it was still a huge relief from the heat he had decided to brave to get here. The bubbles whirled all around as the stallion started drinking while under the water, he was so thirsty and dry that even the water in his ears felt absolutely grand! He felt so stupid for trying to find the river, it felt a lot cooler than it probably was just because he was so overheated and his overheated state was his own fault. But being the type to regret nothing, he tries to shake off the notion of foolishness, his eyes finally opening to welcome in the cooler fresh water of the river, then he noticed another in the river. His ears perked as he realized he had almost landed on the poor girl who just judging by her species, must have just been trying to stay cool in this ridiculous heat as well. He spoke bubbles words with a softness that was lost the muffle of the water, trying to apologize. He gulped water and air at the same time then his goofiness realized why, he needed air! He had just been running and his heartbeat was faster than normal. He gave a moderate thrust of his tail and his head broke the waters surface nose first, he gasped and coughed a bit from needing air and just how hot the air was, wasn’t pleasant whatsoever.
He can’t believe he almost landed on such a pretty little pony! To think how horrible he would have felt had he have hurt her, or just how startled she must have been! His mind swam with guilt and he started apologizing again, still half choked, his voice was naturally velvety and gentle and fairly deep, rich with guilt in his tone “ Oh no I am so sorry! I didn’t see you and I was so overheated all I could think about was getting in the water as fast as possible! I am terribly sorry! Are you okay? Did I hurt you? I didn’t hurt you did I? “ he would feel so dreadful if he had hurt her, his mind racing just like the apologetic questions that he kept rambling out, water running down his pink and purple face and dripping off of his jaw.

Rispah had at this point given up for the moment and had just been letting the current carry her down her river prison. Suddenly, a thundering could be heard over the soft whooshing of water flowing past her. The thundering continued to get louder as she curiously lifted her head out of the water gently carrying her forward to see a large male horse barreling towards the river pushing her along. She barely had time to brace herself before the shockwave of his leaping landing into the water in front of her pushed her backwards. It stunned her stiff and before his shocked expression could register to her, she was already surging forward from the push of the current to bump into his chest.
Her head spun as she dizzaly clung to the large stallions back. Her brain still trying to catch up, she hadn't noticed she now clung to him to steady herself. Rispah was finally able to suck in a lungfull of air. Sure, as a Seathi she could breath under water. But who had time for breathing when you were being whipped around like a doll in Physic's grubby little flailing fist. "Wha--What? Who blasted jumps into a river without looking!" Rispah blustered on. "Even if another pony was here, there's still enough fish here you'd shock one of them too!" Adrenaline and feelings radiated off of Rispah as she grumbled to herself "Unless that was your hunting technique, which i guess could work. BUT STILL!"
Rispah finally bit her tongue as she listened to his overlapping words over hers. Knowing the situation, she couldn't really blame him. It HAD been horrendously warm. "Well.... I guess since you are here, do you know your way around these parts?" As much as this stallion had a valid reason, and was maybe a little good looking... she wasn't willing to forgive him just yet. The fiery spunk brewing in her belly wouldn't let her.

Capricieux Stopped after a moment of her blurting out, He didn't mind her stabilizing on him and he felt sooo bad for this ruckus. In his desperation to cool off he was foolish and at his size, that could be dangerous to allow that sort of clumsiness. He replies to her, offering a gentle nuzzle to her shoulder " You are ABSOLUTELY right! I am so sorry! You nor the poor fish did not deserve that sort of carelessness, no matter how hot it is." His soft blue eyes met her frustrated yet beautiful orange gaze and he almost got a goofy smile on his dark purple muzzle, but controlled himself upon her asking him a very viable question. If he knew his way around these parts. He did in fact but also depended on where she was trying to go. Another feeling of guilt hit him, on top of all this, she was lost. He had almost plopped right on top of a lost and very pretty Seathi and he felt so bad for it, which only fueled his want to help her. "Yes miss I do, I live around here somewhat. Where is it that you are trying to go if I may ask? I am so very sorry again, it was so foolish of me to just run and leap into the river, it was inconsiderate and... uh..." He started to trail off, a her swirls and colors, the bright flashes of color in her mane and fins was so very pretty, he started to look a little dumbfounded but to shook his head slightly, trying to correct his thoughts. " I would be more than happy to help you get to where you are going, if I can. It is the very least I could do." The current now slowly carrying the both of them along, he didn't try to remove her from himself either, just having the closeness was nice anyways and he lived alone. Balach, the black unicorn that lived in the valley not far from where he roamed wasn't always the best company, he was so serious and Capricieux was always too whimsical for the two of them to really be more than just acquaintances or neighbors. He did finally think to at least introduce himself. "oh, yeah I am Capricieux."

Rispah had a paw raised to emphasize her point and a chest full of air to give this large stallions a tongue lashing when he opened his mouth and apologized. Her paw flopped loosely as the air rushed out of her lungs again, a half stunned look plastered on her muzzle as his words sunk in and she considered them. After the antics she had experienced from him, she wasn't prepared for him to be so nice and well spoken, or to apologize so freely and all she could do in response was to blink at him a few times and utter an "Uhhh..."
She shook her head to get her thoughts flowing again and reconsidered the words from who she now knew was Capricieux. They had spent an odd moment of just staring at eachother in silence. A little thought niggled in the back of Rispah's mind, wondering what was giving the stallion pause. Instead she opened her mouth to respond to him. "Ixm looking for the ocean, actually. I was exploring these parts when it was cooler and lost track of time. Now its getting closer to me meeting up with my daughters and this blasted HEAT isn't helping anything!" Rispah took a steadying breath to remind herself not to push her anger at the heat onto this innocent handsome stallion. Around this time Rispah would have fluttered her eyelashes at Capricieux shyly, but Rispah didn't really know how to be shy. So instead, the right side of her mouth quirked up in a smile as she learned his name. "Happily" 'mostly' she mumbled under her breath as she remembered the swirling tornado that had been this stallion mere moments ago. "met, Capricieux. My names Rispah. And I'd really appreciate any help you can give."

Her smile made him actually blush ever so slightly, but it shows up so well on the darker parts of his face, Her name was really pleasant and fitting so he thought. In his mind he repeated her name Rispah, He offered a somewhat sweet if not but a little bit silly of a smile to her. She was so pretty and she seemed so full of adventure, she was literally out here just exploring! He loves to explore and he actually did know where the ocean was from here, so when she asked his ears perked up and he gave a gentle nod, his backward flowing purple mane stood up a little more fin like, responding in a deep but easy going tone " Why yes Miss Rispah, I do! It's been so hot and sense you have been lost " He didn't know for how long but in his mind it was days "If you would allow it, you can hang onto my back and I would be honored to take you there. I haven't been to the Ocean in a long time, and it might be much cooler than these shallower wakes." He had intelligence when he spoke,
Manners, something he had and no small amount of charm when he wasn't flustered and due to his previous... uhh... entrance... and just how lovely and spirited Rispah seemed to be, had started to fluster him a little. She didn't strike him as some weak damsel in distress, he just really still felt bad for almost plowing into her and causing such a stir in the water.
His long and powerful tail gently broke the waters surface and then lowered back down into a soft slosh in the slowly moving river water, keeping his positioning upright and helping to support her, still with her legs over his back. She was a smaller species than he was so keeping her supported and him turning his head back to look and talk to her was no real strain.
