Projected Graduation Date: Hobbies: Cryptozoology - Bigfoot, Nessie, Aliens, Mermaids, Superheroes, Skinwalkers… They are real. Maybe the human population can’t understand them right now, can't even locate them, but they are real and they are out there. DM likes to read, study, and explore anything about such creatures.
Myths - Every myth has a grain of truth and DM loves to read all about them. He is always looking for that grain, that spark of truth, no matter how far out it seems. Science was always finding out new things, creating wonders, who is to say that myths are just science that they hadn’t figured out yet.
Computers - They didn’t talk back, they didn’t judge, they didn’t demand that you be someone else. Yes they had their little idiosyncrasies but what tech item didn’t? DM found dealing with computers so much easier than dealing with humans, that's for sure.
Virtues: Imaginative - It takes a special kind of thought process to actually understand the mysteries of the world. One might even say ‘imagination’ when trying to understand just what made cryptids tick. This makes him not only accepting of things that most would not, but also curious enough to chase down that which caught his attention. It helps him think outside of the box, especially for unique problems, but it also makes him empathic. It didn’t take much for him to imagine how others might feel.
Independent - DM has pretty much always been on his own, yeah he has family but he was the odd one out. He isn’t used to working with others or reaching out for help. He might not be great at getting certain things done but he will get it done, one way or another. As a master of Google-fu there wasn’t much he couldn’t eventually figure out. It just might take him longer than others. This means that he is able to solve his own problems, forge his own path, and has no issues facing difficult situations alone. It just might not be as fun, or easy, which is a shame. Some see this as admirable, others might see it as lonely, but DM just sees it as ‘it is what, it is’.
Flaws: Gullible - DM comes from a small town and while he ‘knows’ about cities he hasn’t yet experienced them. In his heart he is a kind and courteous country boy who would tip his metaphorical hat to a lady and hold a door for others. That being said, while he thinks he is worldly with his internet knowledge, he is quite lacking in street smarts. Especially when it comes to ‘the big city’. He is a bit
too nice and a bit
too oblivious to the dangers that a normal city has, let alone one as ‘special’ as Destiny City. This makes him a prime target for hucksters, if he had any money that is, scams, and general schemes. Almost a textbook person to take advantage of. Add in the fish out of water vibe he always gives off, a country bumpkin, and it is not surprising when he is able to be overwhelmed, overworked, and generally taken advantage of. He definitely needs someone on his side to keep him out of trouble, and doesn’t mind the limited social skills that definitely don’t fly in a city anymore. A task that is not easy since DM ‘is quite capable himself, thank you very much’.
Bashful - He is shy. Not unbearably so but enough that he normally wouldn’t randomly talk to strangers, not without pushing from friends or a good reason, like being lost. He most definitely dislikes drawing attention to himself. Because of this he is the guy who would sit at a bar all by himself and only interact with those that directly engaged him. Not really opening up into more active conversations until a topic he knew well was touched upon. Once this wall has been breached he can be as boisterous and animated as the next person, it just takes a special kind of person and quite a bit to get over that first stumbling block of his. Even then one can spot just how quiet DM can be, always quick with an apology or expression of regret, and when that mental battery is gone he will disappear quicker than fog on a sunny morning. A people person he definitely is not!
