Hirame’s hooves crunched curiously through the frost covered sand. It was unusual that the cold affected them so closely to the tropical setting, and the mare shivered as the wind kicked up and blew the tiny snowflakes in her direction. The offending snow felt like little shards pricking her skin unpleasantly. She wasn’t designed for this, her fur sleek and close to her skin making swimming through the (normally) warmer waters easy. She ducked her head to keep the stinging snow from her eyes as she changed course, picking her way over rocks that lead away from the beach, picking up her pace as the terrain leveled out into a well worn path. Her fathers had shown her this route many times, and now that she was an adult, it was a favorite of hers to travel. At the moment though, she was more focused on her destination than her surroundings - the hot springs would be the perfect way to chase the stinging cold from her flesh.
