Hirame’s hooves crunched curiously through the frost covered sand. It was unusual that the cold affected them so closely to the tropical setting, and the mare shivered as the wind kicked up and blew the tiny snowflakes in her direction. The offending snow felt like little shards pricking her skin unpleasantly. She wasn’t designed for this, her fur sleek and close to her skin making swimming through the (normally) warmer waters easy. She ducked her head to keep the stinging snow from her eyes as she changed course, picking her way over rocks that lead away from the beach, picking up her pace as the terrain leveled out into a well worn path. Her fathers had shown her this route many times, and now that she was an adult, it was a favorite of hers to travel. At the moment though, she was more focused on her destination than her surroundings - the hot springs would be the perfect way to chase the stinging cold from her flesh.

Ambrosia hesitated, a hoof raised over the icy, frozen sand. Hirame had given him directions, and excellent directions they were, but... well, now that he found himself waiting at their meeting spot he was, uh, just a little nervous. His heart hammered in his chest, picking up when the wind let out a sharp, shrill screech at his side. This was ridiculous — she was a perfectly nice mare! There was no reason to be anxious, and yet there his heart went, betraying him with heavy, rhythmic thumps.
"Get it together, you idiot," he mumbled to himself with a sharp flick of his tail. His bone leg throbbed disagreeably, sending a sharp wince across his face. Ugh, blasted wind....

Hirame came to a cross roads where she was to meet Ambrosia and looked up from where she'd had her head ducked. Her heart did a little stutter when she was met with the familiar scene and no large stallion in sight. He'd be exceedingly easy to locate, his brown pelt would contrast with the gray of the frosty rocks. Her ears went back and her eyes darted around. She had given him directions, but perhaps he misremembered. Worry lanced through her, bringing her from her musings. Should she attempt to look for him? Or...what if he had decided not to come after all? She was being ridiculous, she knew, but still her thoughts whirled the possibilities around her head until she was overwhelmed with indecision. She snorted and shook her head, as if to dump the thoughts from it. "You're being stupid..." With a lash of her tail to shake off the rest of her apprehension she started on the path away from the hot springs, setting a brisk pace that had her trotting down the slope, hoping to find him quickly so they could get to the warmth of the pools.
